Mice paused after hearing the words 'Blue Skinny Chicken' and then asked, "Jerry?"

"Mm, it seems everyone calls it that, but I feel Blue Skinny Chicken suits its appearance better."

Mice nodded slightly, looking out the window. The house outside was now enveloped in mist. He raised a hand in a 'shush' gesture and pulled two bottles of Almond water from his backpack.

He handed one bottle to Yang Tao, lowering his voice, "When you hear a strange sound later, drink this immediately…"

Seeing Yang Tao nod, Mice turned off the small desk lamp.

Instantly, the room plunged into darkness, and the surroundings became incredibly quiet, with only the faint sound of four people breathing.

Yang Tao didn't do anything out of the ordinary, like grabbing a cleaver and going out to kill the monsters outside…

It's better to avoid such overtly showy actions.

A whistling wind came from outside the room, but the sound was extremely strange; it felt… it felt as if someone was blowing it with their mouth.

Accompanied by faint footsteps, Yang Tao heard low roars and sobs from outside. Mice, Ade, and the others were clearly affected by the sounds, but they had obviously encountered this thing before.

They each took out Almond water and drank it.

Yang Tao looked at the Almond water in his hand, then opened the cap and drank it as well.

Through the window, Yang Tao saw several thick tentacles passing by on the asphalt road outside the door, but the fog was still dense, so he could only see blurry shadows.

'Is this the culprit behind all of this?'

[Health: 3200 / 3200]

If the opponent was a common Entity from Level 9, then its strength was truly impressive.

3200 health could completely slaughter small and medium-sized Clumps, Hounds, and other such groups.

Perhaps it didn't notice the people in the room, or for some other reason, this so-called 'Crusher' passed by the doorway.

A few minutes later, the dense fog also disappeared along with the wind.

Mice reached out and turned on the small desk lamp, and the soft white light illuminated their pale faces.

Those strange sounds just now clearly had a mental impact; even drinking Almond water only allowed them to maintain a certain level of sanity.

"Mice, shouldn't we leave? This damned Crusher is appearing more and more frequently."

"Then let's scavenge a bit more, and then we'll go to Level 11 to rest and plan our next move."

Mice also felt the pressure. While Level 9 was indeed rich in resources, it was also fraught with danger.

In addition to common Entities like Skin Stealers, Wretches, and Hounds that could be encountered in other levels, there were also Entities unique to Level 9.

He looked up at Yang Tao and said, "We saw Jerry the day before yesterday, but we didn't dare to approach him; we left immediately."

"You should know why."

Yang Tao nodded slightly in understanding. No matter how weak Jerry looked, he was still an Entity, an Entity with powerful psychic abilities.

Normal people didn't want to come into contact with this thing. Who knew if they would be mentally controlled and become a crazy Jerry cultist?

"Where did you encounter him?"

Mice pointed in a direction and said, "Just over there, about three or four li away, but he probably isn't still there now."

"Mm, having a general location is enough. I'll go over there and ask later."

Mice: "…"

Ask? There are only a few human groups in Level 9, and other groups aren't in this area. You still want to ask? Ask an Entity?

"The Crusher has left. It probably won't appear in this area again for a while. We're going out to look around and see if we can find some useful supplies."

Mice stood up and packed his belongings, stuffing various miscellaneous items into a black backpack and slinging it over his shoulder.

"Are you leaving with us, or are you going to explore on your own?"

"I'll explore on my own. I came here this time specifically for that parrot. I've suffered quite a bit for it."

As he spoke, Yang Tao even showed a helpless bitter smile on his face.

"Alright then, good luck, my friend."

Mice didn't try to persuade Yang Tao. In this hellish place, mutual support was normal, but making decisions for others was insane.

Even if the other person wanted to commit suicide, their choice should be respected.

Young Ade and the others also stood up. Ade nodded at Yang Tao, forcing a smile, and said, "We're leaving now. Um… if you're exploring in Level 9, be careful. Some houses might hide Entities, and they'll attack you when you let your guard down."

"Thank you!"

Yang Tao sighed inwardly.

The Backrooms environment was truly different from the apocalypse. If this were the so-called apocalypse, these people would be considered kind-hearted if they didn't try to kill him.

The group left the house.

Yang Tao didn't waste any time and also left the room, heading in the direction Mice had just indicated.

But accidents always happen so suddenly and unexpectedly.

He had only walked a few steps.

Then he heard Mice and the others shouting, "Quick!! Run!!"

Yang Tao turned his head and saw an eye.

A flying eye, with many optic nerves extending like tendrils from its choroid. It had no eyelids and looked bloodshot.

Clearly caused by long-term staying up late.

A white beam of light shot out from its pupil, directly hitting Mice, who was still shouting for everyone to run.

Mice's body turned into dust and was carried away by the wind, leaving only a transparent figure standing in place.

Mice died.

He died very cleanly.

It was the first time Yang Tao had seen a Wanderer die at the hands of an Entity.

Without saying anything, he summoned his magic broom and flew directly towards that eye.

Bang…

[Health: 2810 / 3000]

His attack, naturally, caught the attention of the large eyeball.

A searchlight-like beam of light swept towards him.

Bang.

The good news was that the large eyeball could be knocked back. The bad news was that the light beam apparently couldn't be interrupted.

However, Yang Tao's speed was very fast, extremely fast.

Dodging the opponent's beam, Yang Tao threw many ender pearls.

Bang.

Before the beam approached, Yang Tao's figure abruptly disappeared, leaving only some purple particles.

Bang… his figure disappeared again.

Yang Tao was like someone who had learned to create avatars; for a moment, Yang Tao's figures were everywhere around the large eyeball.

Each disappearance and appearance was accompanied by a gunshot.

A dark green ender pearl quickly smashed into the large eyeball.

Pfft…

The cleaver plunged into the large eyeball's body.

[Health: 0 / 3000]

The lifeless 'large eyeball' fell from the air, bouncing twice on the ground like a bouncy ball.

Yang Tao pulled out his cleaver. Some white tissue fluid flowed from the wound. He shook off the tissue fluid clinging to the cleaver and put it back in his backpack.

He walked towards Mice.

Any Wanderer captured by the Neighborhood Watch's light will have their flesh turn to dust.

The unfortunate souls caught by its light will remain conscious for 5 hours before death. This process is extremely painful.

"I can't bring you back to life, but I won't let you just disappear like this…"
