Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: Tool Bird Training Manual

Chapter 123: Tool Bird Training Manual

2024-05-15 Author: Samsung Charmander (Author Name)

"Awooo!!"

Primeape's entire body flared with red energy as it unleashed a heavy punch, knocking out the Ekans and Koffing in front of it on the spot. It then charged toward James and the other two without pause.

"Boom!!"

"Smack!!"

"Crack!!"

Its power erupted. Every punch and kick was wreathed in a terrifying, crimson draconic light, carrying an incredibly overbearing aura.

Outrage.

While a normal Primeape in a fit of rage would more likely use Thrash, this one had uniquely unleashed the Dragon-type ultimate move, Outrage.

It wasn't a move that matched its type, yet its imposing might was even greater!

This move allows for a series of terrifying attacks over several turns, after which the user falls into a state of confusion.

But right now, confusion was an absolute boon for Primeape. All it needed to do was flail its iron fists wildly in the crowd.

"Smack, smack, smack!"

After just a few turns, the Team Rocket trio was beaten black and blue, so much so that their own mothers wouldn't recognize them. The sound of their bones cracking echoed as their legs trembled, unable to stand straight.

"What do we do? Should we save them?"

Misty covered her eyes with her palm, unable to watch, but the gleam of someone enjoying the show peeking through the gaps in her fingers was particularly bright.

Ash, however, waved his hand confidently.

"It's fine. Those guys are more thick-skinned than I am."

If he had followed the Pokédex's advice earlier, the consequences would have been unthinkable.

But now that someone else was the victim, his mood instantly brightened.

"Boom! Boom!!"

Primeape swung its iron fists again, creating a series of sonic booms. With a beautiful uppercut, it sent the entire Team Rocket group flying.

Then, leaping into the air, it followed up with a flying kick, launching them all high into the sky.

It was taking revenge for that earlier kick!

"Aaaaahhh~~"

The Team Rocket trio shot upwards like a rocket, beginning their traditional, tragic wail.

Being sent flying by something other than Pikachu today just doesn't feel right!!

"We'll be back!!"

The trio gave the middle finger, struck one final pose in the sky, and soon vanished over the horizon like a shooting star.

"Awooo!!"

As the star faded, Primeape beat its chest on the spot, letting out another victor's roar.

Several turns had now passed, and it had snapped out of its confusion. Its sharp, ferocious gaze then fell upon the remaining bystanders on the field.

The three of them: "!"

Danger!

Misty and Brock reacted instantly, shoving Ash, who was at the front, forward.

Ash: "?"

But he quickly recovered, focusing all his attention on the opponent before him.

He had been incredibly envious of its powerful iron fists. His team was lacking a good puncher, and the Primeape before him was the absolute best candidate.

Although his Gengar also knew the three elemental punches, it was always trembling with rage, its punching completely without form.

At this thought, Ash tipped his hat, his expression full of spirit!

Even though his hat had been stolen and he was just making an empty gesture, the pose still had to be made.

"Pikachu, it has to be you!"

With a grand point of his finger, Ash sent out his ace general!

"Pika-pika..."

Pikachu's lazy voice interrupted his fighting spirit. Ash turned his head to see it leaning against a rock wall, a small teacup with a lightning symbol etched on it held in its little paw. Steam curled up from it, and the fragrance of tea filled the air.

The general meaning was that it had just finished eating, and it was now time for a tea break.

Strenuous exercise was not advisable, as it could easily lead to appendicitis.

Ash: "..."

Seeing that the Primeape opposite him was about to lose control of its primal power and lunge at him, Ash gave up on the electric mouse and pulled out a Poké Ball.

Although he wouldn't necessarily lose if he fought personally, he had to admit, he was a Pokémon Trainer, not a martial artist.

He had to show the world its due respect.

"I choose you, Utili-Pidgeotto!" Ash shouted.

Type effectiveness is the eternal god!!

"Pidgeo-oot!!"

Pidgeotto flapped its wings and rose from the red light. It cried out loudly, its sharp eagle eyes scanning the Primeape before it without a trace of fear.

As for why Ash didn't just call it by its nickname, Utility Bird, there was a great deal of thought behind it.

According to Brother Red's Tool Training Manual, a perfect training process is divided into stages. The current stage Pidgeotto was in was one where you could sneakily call it Utility Bird in a moment of crisis, but you couldn't just call it that casually in normal times.

Thinking about it carefully, it could lead to the terrifying consequence of a Pokémon killing its master.

So now, he had to sneak the name in a few more times. After about 100 sneaky mentions, Pidgeotto would truly get used to the name.

However, according to Brother Red's final ultimate skill, the perfect, extreme state for a tool is when it even feels proud of being called a tool, from the inside out, from the very depths of its soul.

A successful case was Green's bird, which had already been perfectly trained by Red.

"Pidgeotto, this guy's strength is no joke. Be careful."

Ash cautiously reminded it.

Although the Primeape had just evolved, its power was nothing like that of a newly evolved Pokémon; it was incredibly strong.

Seeing that his opponent wasn't taking the initiative to attack, Ash shouted sharply, "Quick attack, Pidgeotto, use Gust!"

"Pidgeo-oot!!"

Pidgeotto flapped its wings, whipping up continuous gales. However, the power was weak. Primeape stood unshaken in the wind, its gaze locked tightly on Pidgeotto, letting the Gust blow through its fur.

"Then use Sand Attack to block its vision!"

Ash quickly changed his strategy.

At his command, Pidgeotto landed and began kicking up sand from the ground.

"Awooo!!"

Sand Attack had barely begun when Primeape threw a punch. The sheer force of the wind from the blow scattered all the sand away.

It then placed its fist at its waist and roared. A faint golden light appeared around its body, and its aura suddenly became extremely aggressive.

"Ash, that move is Focus Energy! Its next move will likely be a critical hit! Whatever you do, don't get hit!" Brock yelled from behind.

Before his voice had even faded, Primeape had already sprung into action, leaping into the air and flying towards Pidgeotto with a kick.

Ash's eyes lit up. He seized the opportunity the moment it was airborne and shouted, "Pidgeotto, use Aerial Ace now!"

Primeape's flying kick struck Pidgeotto squarely.

"Swoosh!"

It was only an afterimage!

The real Pidgeotto was now under Primeape, its beak shining with an incredibly unsettling white light.

"Pidgeo-oot!!"

Cloaked in white light, Pidgeotto shot forward, striking at Primeape's lower body.

At that moment, the latter was in an awkward floating state. Its missed kick had created an opening, and it was struck head-on by Pidgeotto's Aerial Ace!

Super Effective!!

Primeape stumbled back, tumbling several times in mid-air before stabilizing itself.

"Awoo!!"

Upon landing, it threw its arms up and roared, its body once again erupting in a ferocious golden light!!

The intense aura from its Focus Energy washed over Ash, causing a few drops of sweat to trickle down his face.

"Damn it, that one move didn't decide the outcome!?"

The most tenacious thing about Fighting-type Pokémon is their fighting spirit. Fueled by this unyielding will to never give up, there's no telling what they can achieve!

"Pidgeotto, use Aerial Ace one more time!!"

Ash could only order another attack.

Pidgeotto's figure was as fast as lightning. Its agile body transformed into an illusory streak of white light in the air, its tip gleaming with a dangerous edge.

"Pidgeo-oot!!"

Aerial Ace aimed straight for Primeape's head!

Seeing this, Primeape actually calmed down. Facing the incoming white light, it bent its knees slightly, lowered its center of gravity, and struck an inscrutable pose.

"ROAR!!"

With a sudden roar, Primeape's hands shot out like lightning. It clasped them together and, in front of its forehead, made a motion reminiscent of Planetary Devastation.

And clamped firmly between its palms was Pidgeotto's sharp beak.

The incredibly swift Aerial Ace was stopped dead, inches from Primeape's forehead, unable to advance any further.

"Awooo!!"

Then, Primeape threw a punch!
