Chapter 17 - Confessions and Heartbreak

He entered the restaurant.

Just stepping in made Ezabel go crazy... She was so scared of confessing, and now seeing him come right to the seat where she sat so she could confess her feelings to him made her heart pump harder.

She gazed down, bending her neck, sitting straight, clutching her legs, and straightening her back.

She looked at him. He was a bit confused seeing both of them but felt my presence was one single mistake or crazy heck attitude...

Things will get pretty ugly.

Zia felt fear of seeing the look on his face when she rejected him right out. She looked away, turning her face...

In that moment, the one who saw me coming behind him was Ezabel.

I waved my hand and gave her a thumb.

She smiled a bit, then I sat down at another table. I looked at them. I can actually hear from far away, so hearing what they were talking about was simple for me.

Oliver sat down and gazed down as well.

This time he didn't know what to say, so all he could do was respond with politeness.

It's not that I cared about their feelings when I threatened him not to upset anyone with his attitude.

It's because Ezabel... yes, I don't want her to remember me with the love triangle stuff. I want her to remember me romantically. That's all there is to it.

Ezabel mustered up the courage to speak her mind.

"Oliver... We called you here to finish the complicated relationship between us, so... huh... Zia."

I can see she's stressed just by the way she talks. Her hands are completely messing with her speech; it feels as if she doesn't know where to put them.

Zia took the initiative and forced herself to stay calm and composed. She said,

"Eza, I guess you have something to say, don't you..."

Oliver directed his legs to Ezabel and looked at her.

She was so timid and said...

But she couldn't say it, so she called out to her kitty, Liora, that huge leopard.

Liora's fur got bigger and its body size grew as well. She picked her up and covered her while she peeked at his reaction.

Oliver still didn't get it and was confused.

"O—okay... Talk about shyness... Tell me now, what is it?"

She said to him right in his face using Liora's face,

"I like you... No, I love you."

Her face turned bright red, confused by the feeling she was feeling, the way her eyes opened wide and her heart pumped... Hurts a lot.

But the relief she felt, even if it was for a second, was a very unforgettable moment.

The way the heavy love she had been carrying for years fell off her chest made it even harder to forget...

Before he could even tell her his response, her eyes dropped tears.

Zia, watching everything quietly, felt the whole thing... And still, she was worried about breaking his heart.

He, on the other hand, tilted his head with a slight backward lean, processing the thought he never considered.

Her memories, one by one, flashed before his eyes, making him realize she was always there for him... But not once had he noticed her — not once. All he could think of was Zia...

With a relaxed or thoughtful facial expression, he looked at her, though Liora was covering her in his fur.

He said,

"I'm... I'm sorry... I'm really sorry..."

I have never seen her cry like that... She really got so hurt...

I could hear her voice even if it was covered by the leopard, Liora.

Liora got out of the restaurant as fast as a flash... I know how it feels, but it must be done.

The people in the restaurant were all so terrified of what was going on.

Everyone knows Liora the Leopard and Zia, so it's common to assume that both might cause a bit of problems between their families.

But the waiter and the manager came and apologized to each table, asking them to reconsider their titles and enjoy their time.

Nothing had to do with them.

The expression of everyone feeling refreshed in that moment showed me how I might have messed up when I took it this far.

I planned to follow her and try to help her overcome the heartbreaking situation. Even if this is so little compared to pain, it must be her first time.

But it's not like she lost someone she cared about — might even be worse when they did it right in front of her face.

Wait... Am I getting emotional? I looked at Zia, who was just watching her childhood friend get rejected right off the bet.

Zia still gazing down...

I swear girls like them are really emotional. Why is she crying now?

Zia's eyes were about to fall off her face. She was actually acting like she didn't know about the triangle...

She knew Ezabel loved Oliver. Well, if she had rejected him long ago, maybe over time, maybe... maybe they would have...

Been fiancés...

Is the thought that is devouring her very own self?

She blamed everything on herself too...

That's how I knew another heart was going to break.

Oliver, the girly obsessed stalker, is going to become a man. I hope she breaks your heart not in two parts, but 10 or 20.

I walked out of the restaurant. Zia saw me and she covered her face.

I just walked out and slowly outside everyone was watching and murmuring while pointing to the rooftop.

I got to the back of the restaurant and from there I jumped up to the rooftop.

The view of the sun radiating through to the rooftop. The blazing rays were radiant smiles indeed, alighting like golden butterflies.

Liora turned its head and looked at me...

Liora said to me,

"Look at what you did, kid..."

Regardless, I approached Liora.

I shouted high too...

"Ezabel, come out now! I swear you are hundreds of times better than a man acting like a boy who is wishy-washy as an insecure little girl..."

Liora suddenly moved its huge fur tail and she was sitting on the edge of the rooftop.

I looked at her and she laughed at me while her tears were carried away by the breeze.

Making me so mesmerized, maybe I did a good thing and she t

old me to come sit next to her.

As I sat down, she jumped and hugged me...

And I fell on the ground as she stood on top of me...
