Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Not a Prank

It hurts!

It's unbearable!

My head's going to explode!

Suddenly, I opened my eyes.

Something warm and wet was licking my hand. I turned my head slightly—

A wolf?!

I yanked my right hand back instinctively.

The wolf, startled by my reaction, whimpered and crawled under the bed I was lying on.

"What the heck?" I muttered, confused.

I was in a room—not mine. It was clean. A couch, a small table, a TV. The walls were plain concrete.

Where am...I?

My first thought?

Prank!

They did it again. My family, probably. Another elaborate prank while I was asleep.

I let out a small breath and smirked.

"Well, if that's it, I'll play along," I murmured, standing up.

There had to be cameras. I scanned the walls, shelves, and corners. Nothing obvious. Either well hidden or I was wrong.

Knock.Knock.

A knock at the door.

The prank must be ending. Maybe Maisha, my big sister, is laughing her head off.

I opened the door.

It wasn't Maisha.

A young woman stood there. Short black hair, brown eyes, and a classic maid outfit. Her expression was polite—too polite. Her eyes sparkled, but I sensed something behind that smile: disgust.

She hated me.

"I've brought your lunch, sir," she said sweetly.

Creepy.

"Ah, yes! Thank you." I took the tray with a forced smile.

She blinked in slight confusion but said nothing.

"Hope you enjoy your meal," she added, then turned and walked down the hallway.

I closed the door.

Meanwhile...

The maid stopped in front of a window. The sun shone brightly outside, the air calm.

"I mixed the poison into his food. He'll die ten minutes after eating it," she said.

A woman's voice spoke from the shadows. "Will there be any trace?"

"No. It'll dissolve entirely in his system. No one will find anything. I made it myself."

"Good. Report back when it's done."

The maid bowed. "Yes, ma'am."

NBack in the room...

I stared at the food tray.

It looked good... too good. But I knew better. If this were a prank, they probably tampered with it.

No way I am eating this crap.

People always underestimated me. I never let them see what they want. I'm cautious by nature.

I headed toward the window to dump the food outside. But the moment I opened it—

What the...hell?

Outside, cars floated mid-air—hovering, gliding. Bikes too.

Even massive trains soared through the sky.

Am I dreaming?

No, this was too real. Too vivid.

Not a prank. Not a dream.

If I think what I think it is...

I ran to the mirror.

The reflection wasn't mine.

Black hair. Green eyes. A sharp jawline hidden under softer features. Not conventionally attractive—but there was potential in the bone structure, in the gaze. Like a canvas halfway through a masterpiece.

"This..."

I touched my face.

I've transmigrated.

A new world. A new body.
