Chapter 447 - LOD Chapter 444: "The Immortal" Dunn Smith

In the deepest part of the inverted tomb, the coffin that the Artificial Death Consul, the angel Haiter, had used to repair himself had long since vanished.

In its place was a sarcophagus adorned with depictions of strange birds, long snakes, and feathers, appearing ancient and mysterious, with a strong style reminiscent of the ancient Highland Kingdom.

It was precisely the Pharaoh's sarcophagus gifted by Reinette Tinekerr, while the sarcophagus's original owner had just been borrowed by Maric to advance to a Demigod.

Dunn Smith, clad in a hooded black robe, sat cross-legged beside the sarcophagus, his grey eyes completely taken over by Wraiths and spirits, his body even covered in a layer of white frost.

Even so, a relieved smile appeared on his sharply defined face.

A Spirit Warlock can seal natural spirits and Wraith shadows within their body, and Manuel just happened to possess all sorts of strange and unusual spirit bodies.

The overload of accommodating spirits, which were considered extremely rare even in the records of the Church of Evernight, repeatedly pushed Dunn Smith's body to its limit, but it was precisely this madness, walking on the edge of losing control, that allowed him to completely digest the Spirit Warlock potion within just a few months.

"Well done, even faster than I anticipated!"

A familiar yet gentle voice echoed in his ears. Dunn froze, startled to find that the surrounding environment had instantly changed.

The sarcophagus that had been so close was gone, replaced by five figures that made his Spirit Body tremble.

Without the protection of the tomb, and under the focus of several oppressive gazes, Dunn, though looking somewhat disheveled, still drew a standard Crimson Moon on his chest and murmured, "That helpless feeling of powerlessness, I don't want to experience it again..."

Aaron nodded with satisfaction, reining in his pressure. After confirming that Dunn's potion had been completely digested, he made several grasping motions with his right hand in front of him.

The Ring of Mysteries shimmered with light. After several attempts, Aaron finally dragged a slightly ethereal figure from the mists of history.

"When we were in Tingen, I told you that if you could advance from Sequence 7 to being able to withstand the Undying potion within a year, I would give you an opportunity to advance to a Demigod."

"Now, it's my turn to fulfill that promise!"

Aaron's gaze returned from Dunn, whose body had suddenly begun to tremble. Feeling the sudden increase in spiritual burden, he looked with a smile at the historical projection he had summoned.

The ethereal figure had solidified considerably, and its dull, vacant expression had vanished.

Although he lacked the authority of Concealment, by leveraging the ability of the Trojan Horse of Destiny and grafting his consciousness onto a historical projection, Pallez Zoroast, looked at the many angels encircling him and couldn't help but exclaim, "There are quite a few old friends..."

Waving his hand to interrupt the fellow's meaningless sentiment, Aaron pointed at Dunn and succinctly added, "You can return his destiny now!"

Amon's true body had already left the Forsaken Land of the Gods and was now untraceable. Prolonged use of the Trojan Horse of Destiny's ability could easily lead to reverse-tracking by that Blasphemer.

Pallez Zoroast smiled and nodded. An ancient, mottled giant clock immediately appeared behind him, its greyish-white hands rotating counter-clockwise, and a certain tributary, previously isolated from the River of Fate, re-merged into the long River of Fate.

The moment destiny returned, Dunn let out a painful groan. A palm-sized void abruptly appeared on his chest, and his life force was rapidly fading.

Azik's palm slightly lifted, and specks of pale light immediately appeared on Dunn's body, swiftly converging towards his glabella, which was the area corresponding to the Underworld within his body.

The ritual for a Spirit Guide to advance to a Gatekeeper was essentially to use the body as a cage, opening a Underworld Gate within, and constructing one's own "Underworld." This was also the foundation for advancing to an Undying.

For Dunn to directly advance from a Spirit Warlock to an Undying, he still needed to open his own Underworld Gate, but this was not difficult for a Death Consul.

The pale light converged and solidified into a cocoon of light, which was propelled by an invisible force towards the inverted black tomb, merging into the Pharaoh's sarcophagus that was continuously gathering Death intent.

"This tomb was specifically built by Haiter for his self-repair back then. Its effect will be much better than simply building a tomb according to the advancement ritual."

Feeling Aaron's gaze, Azik waved his hand, allowing the Death intent in the Styx to continue gathering, and explained with a smile.

Aaron nodded understandingly, primarily thanking Pallez Zoroast, then released the maintenance of the historical projection.

Looking at the many members of the Numinous Episcopate and the Temperance Faction, who were isolated by Reinette Tinekerr nearby, Aaron nodded and looked at Azik, speaking in a deep voice, "Since you have awakened, the reconstruction of the Balam Kingdom can be carried out as quickly as possible. Strive to integrate those native areas that still believe in Death with the fastest speed!"

In a valley where the Haagenti Plains and West Balam converged, the sound of chains turning and metal grinding echoed for a long time.

The deep black iron Door slowly opened to both sides, and crimson, blood-like light surged out like a tide, quickly engulfed by the surging Darkness.

After everything receded, it revealed numerous altars of flesh and blood behind the iron Door, embedded with eyeballs, severed limbs, and internal organs.

Placing the pure black eyeball in his hand back into the tin box engraved with numerous patterns, Daly Simone, with a gloomy expression, spoke in a low voice, "Do not touch those corrupted flesh. After taking rubbings of the array patterns on those altars, thoroughly purify this place."

"Do not dwell on the information on the altars. Everyone, after returning to the church, go to the Bishop for a meditation prayer!"

Several Red Gloves behind her nodded with solemn expressions. This was a stronghold where the Rose School of Thought cooperated with the Highland Resistance, and also the main target for this mission's cleanup.

Walking at the end of the team, moving with his other teammates, Leonard's mind suddenly heard a familiar old voice, "The Church of Evernight is about to gain another Demigod-level Archbishop..."

Startled by the old man's sudden words, Leonard's hand trembled, almost touching the corrupted flesh.

Suppressing the urge to roll his eyes, he quickly caught the key point in the words, his hand movements pausing slightly as he quickly pressed in his mind, "Which Senior Deacon advanced?"

"Old man, how do you know?"

Pallez Zoroast seemed to have grown accustomed to being called 'old man' and no longer corrected Leonard's address. He clicked his tongue and replied with an inexplicable tone, "It's someone you're very familiar with. Hmm, it should be a surprise for you."

Leonard's interest was piqued by Pallez's words, but no matter how much he pressed, he received no further response.

Muttering a complaint about the old man in his mind, Leonard slightly turned his body and met Daly's gaze, who had appeared behind him at some point.
