Chapter 495: A Man's Paradise! A Woman's Hell! Yoshiwara!
Sakata Gintoki was in Yoshiwara, shrouded in darkness. Why? Only because his wallet was stolen by a child, which dragged him into this mess. Yoshiwara. A man's paradise, a woman's hell. The child wanted to buy the most beautiful oiran, claiming she was his mother, but she was just a woman imprisoned by Yoshiwara's ruler, the Night King Hosen.
He, Kagura, and Shinpachi were just commoners. How could they manage such a thing?
"Heh, it seems you're nothing more than this." An old, shirtless, muscular man stood with a large black umbrella over Gintoki, who lay on the ground like a dead dog. His wooden sword was broken, just like his blood-soaked body. But his eyes still stared intently at the man looking down on him.
The insignificant commoner had intervened but lost miserably to Hosen, who once stood at the pinnacle of the Yato Tribe. Hosen possessed unimaginable strength; none of Gintoki's attacks could leave a scratch.
Finally, casting a disdainful glance, Hosen turned and walked towards the little boy cowering in the corner. He raised the giant umbrella. "Go to hell and meet your birth mother."
"You're badly injured, Gintoki," a sudden voice said from behind.
Hosen stopped. He slowly turned. What he saw was a clean man standing beside Gintoki.
Gintoki's lips trembled.
Ren narrowed his eyes with a smile. "Don't worry. I'll take care of things here. But first, I need to deal with this doomsday factor. As for you, do you need me to heal you?" Gintoki's eyes didn't move. "It seems you don't."
[Doom Companion]: Dual Journey
[Journey Duration]: One Day
[Companions]: Ren, Sakata Gintoki
[Journey Mission]: Eliminate the Aberrant, Night King Hosen.
He came here not just at Gintoki's request. Hosen shouldn't be someone who could crush Gintoki like this, but this guy happened to be an "Aberrant."
"Who are you? Are you also against me for Hinowa?" Hosen's eyes were suffused with red light, killing intent overflowing.
"Who am I?" Ren stood with his hands in his pockets. Facing such trash, they weren't even worthy of him extending a hand. "Consider me Gintoki's friend. Since he's requested my help, as a manager, I naturally have to assist."
"If you're a companion to that trash, then you can die too." Hosen's muscles bulged, and he raised his giant umbrella.
Ren walked forward without a care. But Hosen's umbrella still hadn't fallen. It wasn't that he didn't want to move; it was that his body couldn't. His muscles trembled, veins bulged, but he couldn't move an inch.
"You seem to really dislike, yet yearn for, the sun," Ren thought of a way to teach this arrogant guy a lesson.
"!!!" Hosen's umbrella suddenly dropped, and his eyes trembled. Ren hadn't done anything. He had simply given him a true sensory experience of being close to the real sun. It was like a dream, but the feeling was real.
Being melted by the sun. His body reacted with a conditioned reflex. Sweating profusely, muscles atrophying, lips cracking, eyes bulging. Drowning before the sun from which he could not die.
Stepping over the no longer resistant Hosen, and after merely glancing at the boy named Seita, Ren left.
"Bastard!" In a brightly lit room, a red-haired figure was sent flying amidst curses, crashing into a wall. The surrounding furniture had all been destroyed.
"Kagura!" Shinpachi, wearing women's clothing, shouted anxiously.
The one who had attacked was a blond man with a black coat and an umbrella. He was disappointed with her performance. She hadn't used the power of the Yato Tribe; in fact, she seemed to be suppressing it. "This won't do." He aimed at Shinpachi. "If you don't use your full strength, I'll have to kill him."
The umbrella handle jabbed out. Whoosh! A gust of wind whistled past. Kagura, who had been slammed into the wall, rushed before him with incredible speed. Blood streamed down her face, and her eyes were blood red.
Abuto was stunned for a moment, and her fist had already struck his face. This is the power a Yato should have.
Flesh twisted. Teeth broke. He spun through the air but regained his balance and landed steadily. Wiping the blood, he seemed unaffected by the pain, instead becoming more excited. Kagura, in trying to stop him, had completely unleashed her Yato bloodline.
"Good. This is interesting," his fighting blood was stimulated.
"!!!" But an instant's bristling of his hair made him retreat frantically. His gaze was more solemn than ever as he looked behind Kagura.
"Gentlemen, as much as I hate to interrupt, I must inform you that the battle is over."
