Chapter 20 - northern nation

I'm ready, and I have waited a long time for this. To kill him — and when I do, the prophecy will be dead. I will slowly kill him if I get my hands on him. He has cost me a lot of pain and sleepless nights. I have to be done with those.

Don, thinking: But he is my little nephew…

"I'm too strong to be soft right now. This is my destiny. I was born for this, and no one can stop me."

He laughed out loud.

"And if they try, I will have no choice but to kill them and get rid of them."

He helped himself onto the royal chair, looking like a devil himself. "I was destined for this," he said to himself. Always hungry for power, he suddenly flashed back and remembered the past, and he smiled.

"I can't be weak."

North Nation

"There has really been a change for a while now," one of them said. "For some months now, we've picked up some strange signs in the atmosphere, and we're scared. It can be good or bad. We really can't tell now, because nothing has happened yet. I believe it has good intentions. Because if it doesn't, we have to prepare ourselves for what's next — the worst."

One of the king's men looked worried.

"You are correct. But the energy is good. The dragon signs are in good condition and safe. That's all that matters. We are safe as well, and no one can break through the barriers protecting us. If they have bad energy or bad intentions, they end up dead trying to break through, or lose their mind in the process. There is nothing to fear or panic about — only if we have an insider. But we trust everyone here. We live in love and care for each other. We can talk to the king about this and hear his opinion."

One of them added, "Yes."

They all nodded in agreement.

John

"I can feel a strong energy running through my body. It's like blood in my veins. It's really hot… and it feels good," he said, talking to the wind and looking at the sky.

The others looked at him from afar — Mary, Kido, Anna, and KayKay.

"He is really something," Anna said.

"Watch what you say with your mouth about him. He is still the young lord, and I can't stand here—"

Kido cut in: "Or what?"

Anna: "You will lose your head."

"Whhh… you don't take a joke. That's really mean!"

Kay: "What has gotten into you?" he asked.

Mary: "Guys, stop it already."

Scout, from the northern nation

Ray:"Guys, we have to be focused on this mission because our lives depend on it. We are the eyes and ears of the nation. The great King Josh is depending on us, so we can't let him down. Any decision we make is a big jump. We can't afford any mistakes. Understood?"

Scout: "Yes."

Ray: "We are close to the Heart, so we have to be careful. It's been a really long time since we came out of the city. Remember — trust no man. We really don't know how things are done here. Guys, we have to keep our heads low and don't draw attention to ourselves. Rumor has it that the good are dead, so the bad are more than the good ones. So we have to be vigilant."

They continued and entered the city.

They were amazed, seeing how beautiful it looked. Although they were told the city was broken, no one ever mentioned that it was a beautiful nation. They were all stunned, standing still like statues, frozen with their mouths open, looking in disbelief.

"What in the world is this? It's really a better place to live," one of them finally spoke, looking around.

All eyes were on them because of their behavior. Whispers filled the air.

"Who are they?"

"Where are they from?"

"Why are they here?"

Some of the people began to panic. The way Scott looked — intimidating, scary, serious — made it worse.

One person said, "They are definitely not from around here. They look different. Definitely not from here."

Don's men were walking past.

A man saw them coming from a distance and ran to Scout.

"Follow me!" he ordered.

One of them asked, "To where?"

"I don't have time to explain. You can't be here. I know I don't know you, and you don't know me as well, and this is not the time to ask me questions."

"I'm just trying to help. Because those men coming—if they get hold of you, you all will regret ever coming here!" he added, then turned sharply. They quickly followed him into the crowd.

They walked for a long time. Then he said to them, "You can find your way from here."

Scott: "Why did you help us?"

"Because I know you're not from around here. The way you guys were standing there like fools, trying to get yourselves killed."

"You can't say that to us!" one of them said angrily, pulling out a sword, ready to strike. "We are warriors!"

"You want to kill me after I just saved your lives? Is that how you repay me?" he added.

Scott said, "By the way… thanks for helping us. We will repay you someday."

"I don't need anything from you. All I did was help."

He paused. "By the way, I'm Zack."

"Where are you from, and what are you doing here?" Zack asked.

"We were sent by our king, His Majesty Josh. We are knights—the warriors. We are here on a mission to look for a young man."

"King Josh?" Zack repeated. "Why does that name sound familiar?"

He looked up at the sky, trying to think.

"Ohhh… ohhh… ohhhh—Josh, the brother of…"

Zack stopped suddenly, fear in his voice.

"Don."

Scout: "Yeah."

Zack: "So who are you looking for then?"

"Rumor has it he is the young lord—the son of the king, John. We are here to bring him to our king. He wants to meet him," Scott said.
