Chapter 004
As Jome shows an oblivious that he is happy with glee that he is was able to join the guild with ease, Jesse and Sir James look at the boy, and Sir James with his rough voice that is quite loud tells Jome "SETTLE DOWN BOY, Now that you join the guild you got to go through the training classes and then you be assigned a mentor."
Jome who is surprised by Sir James voice settle quite quickly, Jome asks with a more level head "Sir James by training classes what would I be learning?"
Sir James response "You be learn first how to survive in the wilderness where monster roam, then you be taught how to hunt monster and when to kill monsters, then if you both make it out alive and succeed the training you be assigned a mentor who will watch after you for your first year or two as you take quest with them."
Jome asks with his face showing wander "how long does the training usually take to finish?" Sir James says back "The depends on you some can get done in a matter of weeks others stay in training for a year or two."
He also tells Jome "While you are in training you will be able to take odd job quest, such as helping with cleaning, quest where you have to deliver things in the city. Basically your be doing the guilds chores for some pay while training."
Jome asks "When will I start my training?" Sir James says back " Beginners training starts in the mornings so you will start training in the morning. Miss Jesse, set this boy up with a room in the guild for his training."
Then Jesse tells Jome with a pip in her step "Follow me Jome lets get you a room to rest in." Jome follows her while he does he asks Jesse "How many people take the training classes?"
Jesse says about with a sweet tone "usually around twenty or so take the training at a time Jome. Though most the get done with the first training is about half or so then for the next training about three to five get the training done, so I wish you luck Jome."
Jesse Then shows Jome an room that is on the up stairs of the building, and gives him a key for the room and then leaves Jome. When Jome enters the room he notices the room is very bare they only things in the are a small desk, and a cheap looking cot to sleep on. The only light in the room comes from the window that does not open.
Jome looks out of the window and notices a view of some shops and the walls of the city. Jome uses his time to train his mana control as the sun slowly starts going though the sky until the sun is barely peaking past the walls of the city. With the light from sun is barely noticeable Jome decides to lay himself on the cot and go to sleep. While on the cot Jome notices the cot is not comfortable at all, he thinks to himself that the sleeping in a tent was a lot more comfortable then this. After some time Jome gets the discomfort out of his mind as he goes to sleep.
In the early morning Jome awakes and sets out to the front desk and notices a young lady behind the desk, Jome asks the young Lady, "Miss would you happen to know when the beginners training class would start?" The Young Lady who has sparking eyes of green and long brown hair says "The beginners training class would start in and hour and it be held in the training grounds young sir." Jome then tells the Young Lady "My name is Jome miss." She answers back "Well Jome my name is Abby." Abby then tells Jome that "There should already be some people in the training ground for the beginners class." Jome thanks Abby and heads toward the training ground, when he arrives he notice a couple of people clearly a couple of years older then Jome. Jome sees an boy who others call out to him as Abe, Abe is a dark tan complexion with a wide body of muscles, Jome eyes are draw to a girl the only one he can sees. The Girl has long raven hair, with pale skin, the girl seems to be wearing a red mages robe, some of the boys Jome sees are talking to the girl from what he can get from listen the girls names is Lana. Jome decides to go talk to Abe.
Jome says to Abe "Hello my name is Jome what is your." Abe says back in a matter of fact tone "My Name is Abe, you are new here and you look younger then everyone else when did you join the guild?" Jome thinks and says "I just joined the guild yesterday, and I am thirteen years old, how about yourself?" Abe with a tone of amusement says "you are a bit younger then everyone else, I am fifteen which is young for a new member what I heard most people who join are around sixteen to seventeen."
As Jome and Abe keep talking time passes, until the trainer comes into the training grounds it is Sir James who would be teaching us.
Sir James quickly takes command of the new members of the trainees, he explains that this training class would take at most a couple of days. Then Sir James then starts training them, what he trains are how to make fires, how to treat wounds without the help of magic, what plants that are edible, and where to step up campsites in different types of terrain.
Then Sir James calls someone in a man is in chains walks into the training grounds, then Sir James explains this is a criminal who we will be using to help with training the class. Then Sir James gets a small knife and cuts the criminal then calls on one of the trainees to treat the criminal, then one by one Sir James has each of the trainees to treat a cut that he does to the criminal. When it is Jome's turn to treat the criminal, he is covered all over with bandages, some of the bandages are poorly done to where you can see blood cover them. Jome is able to put a bandage on the criminal that is able to stop the bleeding.
Once everyone has had a turn treating the wounds, Sir James then says a couple of names then says "The names I just called you have failed to treat wounds leaving them bleeding, so you will have to retake this first lesson tomorrow, everyone else you may take the next session." With that Sir James leads the criminals out of the training grounds.
Just standing their Jome has a worried expression, which is notice by Abe whos says to Jome with a joking tone "First time seeing this?" Jome nods yes and Abe says "Yeah it made me have a pit in my belly the first time seeing that too." Jome asks "The first time?" Abe quickly says back "Yeah this would me the fifth time I have done the session, but look at you, you was able to treat the wound your first time congrats Jome."
Abe then tells Jome to follow him and leads Jome to a Bar to get some food, Abe orders a stew for both himself and Jome. While slowly eating the stew Abe is able to make Jome laugh with some jokes to lighten his mood. Once they are done Jome walks back to the Monster Hunter Guild and back to and takes on some chores for some money Jome spends the rest of the day cleaning the inside of the building for some coins.
Once the days is over Jome heads back to his room, where he flops on his bed and quickly is overcome with slumber.
