"I- " Hannah began but she stopped herself. She thought to herself if she was ready to share her story. She can't trust David because he is a rogue. He might have been good to her and her daughter for the time being but she felt it was too early for that. "Same as you. I am here because someone hates me." She settled to say that to him.
"I don't believe you." David said with sincerity. "You are his mate. Am I right?" He probed.
"No!" Hannah lied. Even though she wasn't a hundred percent sure that the Alpha king was her mate. But from the description David gave to her of the big black wolf, a part of her felt it was him.
As for David, it seems he already knows. He refused to believe otherwise. Hannah wondered how many others knew or believed that. What if the news gets back to him and he comes down there to punish her for that, or even kill her for it. Because from what she heard from David about him, he was not a very kind Alpha king. He was more of a scary one.
David's light chuckle brought Hannah out of her trail of thoughts. "I still don't believe you. If what you claim is true, then why do I sense him coming towards her. The guards are directing him to your cell. They are telling him you are in the last cell on the left."
Hannah's eyes grew wide as her heart beat faster in her chest. Soon, she could also hear the footsteps and voices coming that way. The sweet scents of him soon filled her nostrils. Pleasure filled her whole self but soon, it was overcome with fear.
"Damn it! I am fucked." Hannah announced, unknowingly.
*Why is he here all of a sudden? What are we going to do? I wonder what is going to happen. This is the first time we are meeting in person. The first time we are meeting his human person. What do we do?!.* Hannah said in a panic to her wolf, Ulva.
*I have no Idea, Hannah. I really don't know what to do or say to you at the moment.* Ulva replied in a tired voice. She was really weak from the lack of food they were currently facing.
"You cannot deny it anymore, Hannah. I saw how you reacted to his scent. You cannot lie to me." David teased her with a smirk. "He is getting really close now." He added before moving back to his cell. He went into the dark corner of his cell and remained quiet.
Hannah was still panicking. she didn't know what to do and she could perceive her mates scent. He was getting really close.
At the moment, she could only think of one thing to do. Similar to what David did, she went to the darker part of the cell, where Zoe was laying in bed. She quickly laid next to her and closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep.
Hannah tried to steady her breath, which was quite difficult because of how her heart was pounding in her chest. She heard footsteps reaching the front of her cell. It finally stopped. Now the scent of her mate was even more evident and impossible to deny how wonderful it was.
*He smelled absolutely divine.* Ulva purred.
Hannah couldn't help but roll her eyes at Ulva's behaviour due to the presence of their mate. But she also agrees with Ulva. He does smell divine. What she hoped for was his beautiful and divine scent to match his behaviour and personality.
"Come forward." Xavier commanded.
For the first time, Hannah heard his deep voice that was pleasant to her ears to hear.
"I know you are not sleeping. Come forward." He added.
Hannah didn't move a muscle. She remained in her lying position, pretending to be asleep.
"I SAID, COME FORWARD." Xavier commanded again. This time in a more audible and authoritative voice.
In no time, Hannah basically ran towards him. From her laying position to where he stood, she got there within the blink of an eye. She never looked up. Her head was bowed as she went to stand on the opposite side of the bars.
Hannah didn't dare to look up at him. His voice was scary enough for her. She kept staring at the floor and eventually his perfectly polished shoes. She could tell that he has big feet from how huge the shoes were.
"Look up." He commanded.
For some reason, unknown to even Hannah herself, she was finding it hard to look him in the face.
"Is there something wrong with your ability to hear, that I have to keep repeating myself?" He questioned in a stern voice.
It made Hannah take a step back because It was the same way her former mate, Alpha Trevor spoke to her. Before she could take a second step, she felt a hand grabbing her towards the cell bars.
It was the Alpha and he pinned her to the bars. It wasn't a nice thing to do but him coming in contact with her made her feel something spark in her. She knows he also felt the same.
"When I ask you to do something, you do it with immediate effect. No one dares to disobey me." Xavier said in his authoritarian voice.
Due to their proximity at the time, his minty breath fanned her face. It further sends shivers down her spine. But sadly, he quickly withdrew his hand after that. As if he touched some sort of filth.
"Now, fucking look at me." He demanded.
This time around, Hannah couldn't defy him. He immediately looked up. Their eyes met. Her blue eyes were caught in his green ones for a moment.
At the moment, time seemed to have slowed down for Hannah as she took in the features of the man before her for the first time. The man, who happens to be her mate.
The man she was setting her eyes on for the very first time, after meeting his wolf almost two weeks ago.
The man,who she happened to be mated to for a second mate.
The same man happens to be the Alpha King.
Now Hannah has confirmed it. A hundred percent confirmation.
