"Now, are we going back?"
Levid asked.
Tom, who had just been forced to sign an unequal treaty, nodded slowly with a sour face.
Levid suddenly asked again: "But... you already knew your father's information.
Do you want to ask if there is a Muggle family named Riddle nearby?"
Tom couldn't help frowning when he heard the word Muggle family.
It was not until today that he learned from his uncle that his father was actually a Muggle...completely contrary to his previous guess.
In other words, he was not a pure blood...
Thinking of this, Tom couldn't help feeling a little lost.
"Tom, haven't you come to your senses yet?"
Levid said with a look of disappointment.
"Pure-blood or half-blood, what does it matter?"
"You're a half-blood, yet you can defeat every other pure-blood in the school.
Moreover, Morfin Gaunt, a pure-blood wizard of Slytherin descent, is no match for you. Doesn't that speak volumes?"
"Does it take courage for you to even accept reality?"
Tom lowered his head at Levid's words.
After a long pause, he sighed and said, "All right... then let's go and find out."
Dumbledore observed this scene, a smile once again spreading across his face.
Sure enough, his original decision had been the right one.
Levid had indeed managed to change Tom...
The Riddles were considered a prominent family in the Muggle world, as they were wealthy!
So, Dumbledore and the other two quickly found out where the Riddles were.
They were surprised to discover that the Riddles lived only five or six miles from the Gaunts, in Little Hangleton.
It was no wonder Merope had always seen Old Tom passing by her house...
Furthermore, when they asked Muggles about the Riddle family, they overheard a piece of gossip...about the past of Old Tom, the current head of the Riddle family and Tom's father.
The Muggles said that Old Tom had disappeared for a whole year over a decade ago.
When he returned, he seemed somewhat disoriented, mumbling about witches and sorcery.
People thought he was mad, but he slowly recovered over time.
However, this incident became the gossip of the Muggles throughout Little Hangleton... and it persisted for years.
After hearing this gossip, Tom's face turned pale...
Even though he didn't know the methods his mother had used, he knew his father definitely didn't marry her willingly!
As a witch, she had plenty of ways to make a Muggle fall in love with her...
In other words, if he went to find his father now, he'd probably receive the same treatment as the Gaunts!
Tom's mood instantly darkened.
Logically, both of these places should have been his home, but now...he couldn't go back to either place!
"Tom, what do you think?
If you're not ready yet... we can come back another time."
Levid glanced at Dumbledore, then continued, "If we're just visiting a Muggle family, there shouldn't be any danger.
So, Professor, if you're busy, we can come on our own next time.
It should be fine."
Dumbledore pondered, "It's not safe outside right now, Wade.
I'll go with you, even if I don't have the time.
Don't forget, students can't use magic outside of school... Tom just broke the rules."
Grindelwald was very interestedin these two children! He couldn't let his guard down!
"Well... Tom, think about it for a moment," Levid said, and he and Dumbledore stepped aside, giving Tom time to think.
"Since we're here... it doesn't matter!
As bad as the situation is, can it be as bad as the Gaunts'?
Professor, let's go.
To the Riddles'..." Tom didn't think for long before making up his mind.
Originally, after learning that his father had been forced to marry his mother, he hadn't wanted to visit his father again.
The best thing would have been to never see him again.
But... after much deliberation, he decided to go!
Even if it was to fulfill his mother's last wish!
Levander said cheerfully, "Let's go. Professor, you go ahead.
If the Riddles come with a shotgun or something... with your magic, we can easily stop them."
"Well... it only takes a Transfiguration spell, turning the shotgun into a snake or a rat... Wade, you can do that too.
However, students can't cast spells outside of school.
That was a special case, and I can't let you break the rules again.
If you do, let me do it this time."
Dumbledore followed Levander's lead, trying to lighten the mood.
Tom naturally understood what the two men meant, but he wasn't in the mood right now...
The Riddle estate was much larger.
The Gaunts' cabin looked like a latrine compared to the Riddles' vast estate...in front of the estate's massive iron gate.
"Who are you looking for?"
An old butler sized up the three people before him.
When his gaze fell on Tom's face, his expression suddenly changed.
"Wait a moment!
I'll go get Master Riddle!"
The old butler took three steps at a time and sprinted towards the manor, as if a devouring monster were following him.
Dumbledore and the other two exchanged glances, helplessly waiting where they were.
"Tom, your father isn't hiding, is he?"
"Hmph... hard to say!"
Dumbledore remained silent, simply standing at the front, pulling the two children behind him.
If the enemy did resort to weapons, he would be there to shield them, ensuring their safety.
Not long after, the old butler returned.
Dumbledore felt somewhat reassured that the butler was unarmed.
He had arrived in a carriage...
This showed that the Riddle estate was indeed vast, and that the Riddles were far more than just small landowners with a modicum of wealth...
The butler dismounted and respectfully opened the door.
An elderly gentleman with white hair stepped out.
He looked very old, yet still appeared remarkably energetic.
Rivendell was curious; judging by his age, he didn't seem like Tom's father...yet... the old man still bore a striking resemblance to Tom.
Riddle remembered that Old Tom's father was still alive at this time...
In other words, this person must be Tom's grandfather?
As soon as Master Riddle stepped out of the carriage, he looked eagerly at the three people before him.
Finally, his gaze fell on Tom.
Without even asking, Master Riddle recognized his grandson from his appearance alone.
His expression was complicated.
"Hello, sir. Could you please tell me your purpose?
And... what is your relationship with the woman who abducted my son?"
Master Riddle first asked Dumbledore.
"The woman you are talking about... must be my mother," Tom replied coldly.
Master Riddle's pupils constricted slightly at this. He took a deep breath and said, "So... you... and that... person... are the same kind?"
"If I understand you correctly... yes, we are the same kind," Dumbledore replied.
Master Riddle sighed.
"In any case... please follow me in."
The carriage was spacious.
Even with three more people arriving, the space still seemed vast.
Master Riddle turned his gaze to Tom again.
"So... you know your origins?"
"Hmm..." Tom replied coldly.
"Then your mother... isn't she here today?"
"She died eleven years ago, the same year my father... abandoned her."
Tom's voice remained icy.
Master Riddle breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.
It was clear that Tom's father had told his father a great deal about Tom's mother after returning home...
Judging by his state at the time, he must have been deeply terrified of her, and likely described her in terrifying ways.
Consequently, Master Riddle was filled with fear for this daughter-in-law, whom he had never met.
A Muggle, completely ignorant of magic, suddenly abducted by a strange witch, then blindly married and had children with her...
Only he himself could know the depths of fear and anger he felt after regaining consciousness.
Therefore, Master Riddle breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that the woman had died.
However, this made Tom very dissatisfied, so his words became sharp.
"I came here today just to see my father, which is to fulfill my mother's last wish.
Then we will leave and never see each other again. What about my father?
Doesn't he even have the courage to come out and see me?"
Master Riddle sighed and said carefully: "I don't know if you can understand...what happened back then really hurt him too much.
So, he mistakenly thought that...your mother came to see him again, so he hid."
"Oh...coward!" Tom said coldly.
Master Riddle didn't know what to say for a moment.
He knew very well that since they were the same kind of people as that woman, that is to say, these people were all... wizards!
The legendary evil wizards!
Therefore, he didn't dare to show his arrogance in front of these three people.
Even if one of them was his grandson...
