After witnessing Yasui Makoto's demonstration, Kitasan Black quickly grew fascinated by the idea of "extreme acrobatics."
Especially after he explained further and demonstrated a few more moves.
From scaling walls to aerial spins, once she regained her senses, she found herself unable to suppress the thrilling excitement bubbling up inside her.
Later moves like spinning airborne kicks, flying submissions, and something called a "Yela"—whatever that was—only heightened her anticipation.
Compared to all these flashy moves, splitting pebbles seemed tame by comparison.
But upon returning to the Academy and resuming regular training, she was disappointed to find the routine hadn't changed at all.
Maybe I have to finish these first, and then we'll start the new training, she thought optimistically.
After completing her usual set, however, she felt even more disappointed.
"Trainer…" she pouted, waving her fists lightly in protest, eyes full of expectation as she stared at Yasui Makoto.
"Didn't you say we'd be practicing extreme acrobatics? When are we starting? Oh, and didn't you mention needing lots of special equipment? I don't see anything here…"
Belatedly noticing this missing detail, she glanced around the training grounds curiously.
Looking up from his tablet, Yasui felt pleasantly surprised—and even a little delighted—by her enthusiasm.
Ever since deciding to become a trainer, he'd spent most of his time studying training theory, only occasionally incorporating remembered techniques from his past experience into fitness routines. When he had time, he would glance at reports about extreme acrobatics in this world.
Each time he read those reports, he vividly recalled past discussions and exchanges with fellow acrobatic enthusiasts. He often dreamed of thrilling performances at cliff edges, on glaciers, or thousands of meters in the sky.
Even in dreams, the exhilarating rush of adrenaline and sheer thrill of testing his limits felt incredibly vivid.
Extreme acrobatics wasn't just his former career—it was his passion. In fact, it was precisely because he loved it so deeply that he'd made it his career.
Far from fading after countless challenges, his passion had only grown stronger.
Now, seeing Kitasan so enthusiastic, Yasui realized he might have made a mistake. He'd been so preoccupied with logic and theory that he'd delayed sharing his deepest passion with his own Uma Musume.
Had he mentioned it earlier, perhaps he and Kitasan could have bonded over their mutual enthusiasm for extreme acrobatics, beyond just their trainer-assigned relationship.
Then again, he reminded himself, perhaps it wasn't too late.
Having survived the aircraft accident, Yasui knew better than anyone alive how dangerous extreme acrobatics could be.
Ultimately, safety was far more important than indulging his personal passion.
"I understand your excitement, Kita-chan, but don't rush it," Yasui said gently, his voice warm and relaxed as he talked about his beloved hobby.
"This kind of training isn't easy. It can be dangerous, and we need specialized equipment first. You overheard my conversation with Kitajima-san yesterday, didn't you?"
"The equipment should arrive soon, but until then, you'll just have to learn to stay calm, be patient, and wait."
"Calm… patient… wait…" Kitasan repeated these words slowly, fists clenched. Then, after a deep breath, she suddenly laughed lightly.
"Trainer… You're acting kind of weird."
"Weird?" Yasui blinked in surprise. "How am I weird…?"
"It's just…" Kitasan tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Normally, when you talk or work, you're always so serious and methodical."
"Even when we played games together, you'd talk about strategies, calculations, and stuff. Dia-chan once secretly told me that when you play games, you sound just like a teacher giving lectures."
"But the moment you started talking about extreme acrobatics, it's like you suddenly became a different person—you seem so excited."
Yasui paused, reflecting briefly. He had to admit—she was absolutely right. He laughed softly, a bit embarrassed.
"Am I not allowed to have a personal hobby? Is there something wrong with being excited about the things I love?"
He chuckled lightly, but seeing Kitasan still looking a bit disappointed, Yasui considered carefully how to cheer her up.
