Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Enchanting and Beds

After settling the horses and briefly organizing his backpack, Levi immediately ran to the warehouse to gather a pile of materials, then rushed to the industrial area to begin constructing various equipment.

First was the dwarven smelting mod. This massive contraption was almost as large as the smithy building next to it, and it took quite a bit of effort and a mountain of iron before he could build it.

Next came various dwarven forging tables... several different sizes, including a large trip hammer that needed overhead support points to construct.

After thinking it over, Levi simply expanded a very spacious underground forging workshop below the industrial area and moved all the dwarf-related equipment down there.

"Now it's just like the dwarven working environment."

All underground.

He turned around with a pile of coal, threw it into the smelting mod, and then added stones.

As the fuel continuously burned and released energy, the stones inside gradually melted, producing buckets of molten lava.

Levi directly placed them in water, turning them into obsidian with violent hissing sounds.

Then he mined them with his dwarven steel pickaxe.

Raw materials... obtained just like that.

A moment later, in a new unplanned area, he opened his crafting table.

[Achievement Unlocked: Enchanter]

Before long, a block with an obsidian base, diamond-inlaid corners, and a floating book in the center was placed on the ground.

The enchanting table... finally complete!

Sensing someone approaching, the book automatically opened, turning its front toward Levi's direction for easy reading.

Very magical.

Touching the book, strange runes appeared inside. No matter how hard he looked, he could only understand a little... everything after was garbled.

Only one attribute could be known in advance for enchantments.

Of course, Levi wouldn't start enchanting right now, since enchanting tables needed bookshelves for maximum efficiency.

[Achievement Unlocked: Librarian]

Soon, rows of two-meter-tall bookshelves surrounded the enchanting table. As if summoned, transparent runes slowly floated out from the bookshelves, converging toward the floating book in the center of the enchanting table like mystical fireflies.

Staring at the enchanting table, Levi suddenly thought that next time Faradon came, he'd definitely call him a wizard again. This time there was no way to explain it away.

Wizard it is then... not exactly a bad title.

Confirming the enchanting table had indeed reached maximum level, he felt somewhat excited as he pulled out his ancient elven sword and placed it on the enchanting table.

Swoosh...

The ancient sword left his hands, floating above the enchanting table with ethereal grace.

Three options appeared from the book.

He automatically ignored the first two.

Levi looked directly at the third.

[Sharpness IV...?]

Good luck... this option appearing meant this enchantment would definitely have one attribute as Sharpness IV, with the others uncertain.

He checked his level.

Level 47... enough to enchant quite a few things.

Without hesitation, Levi pulled out lapis lazuli.

Whoosh...

The lapis lazuli instantly melted, becoming a brilliant glow that condensed on the sword blade.

The final attributes appeared before him.

Sharpness IV, Unbreaking III, Sweeping Edge III.

The sword's attack power changed from 9 to 11.5.

"Not bad."

Levi picked up the ancient elven sword. At first glance it seemed no different from an unenchanted sword, but looking carefully, you could see it emanated a faint, ethereal glow... quite extraordinary.

This light didn't conflict with the glow the precious sword emitted when encountering orcs, but added a touch of divine charm to the blade.

The more he looked, the more he liked it... he couldn't put it down.

Now this was one sword, one orc.

However, Sharpness IV was still somewhat imperfect.

Levi took out the elven steel armor from his backpack and placed each piece on the table to continue enchanting.

Protection IV? Good, enchant it!

Unbreaking III? Doesn't feel stable... enchant a book to refresh.

Like this, his level steadily decreased.

By level 29, he had obtained a full set of Protection IV elven steel armor, plus an enchanted book with Unbreaking III.

Seeing he was just short of leveling up, Levi went and killed a batch of chickens.

Then he enchanted the book again.

Sharpness IV, Respiration.

Very fortunately, he got the attribute he wanted.

Thus, a Sharpness V sword was born, with a full 12 attack points... surpassing any weapon in the original game.

A full set of Protection IV armor, plus an elven ancient sword stronger than a netherite sword... Levi estimated that if he encountered that twenty-man warg cavalry squad from the Trollshaws again, he could now fight them head-on without needing to ambush.

As for trolls, he could also directly brute-force them without any technique.

At this point, enemies below a certain scale could hardly pose any threat to him.

Leaving the enchanting table and looking at the sword with only three attributes, Levi felt it still wasn't enough.

But regardless of whether the attributes were sufficient, experience definitely wasn't.

What other ways were there to obtain good enchanted books?

Fishing.

Fishing could not only catch treasures but also provided experience.

Only fishing rods required string.

String...

Hard to imagine... after all this time, he'd never obtained string.

Did he really have to find those man-eating giant spiders to fight? But such large spiders seemed to only exist in Mirkwood or Mordor.

Wait.

Levi suddenly remembered a human town he'd passed through in the Bree region, where farmers seemed to grow flax.

Flax... wasn't this exactly...

No sooner said than done.

A day later, he returned with some seeds and planted them directly in the ground, using bone meal to accelerate growth.

Crop obtained: Flax.

Crafting recipe: 1 Flax = 1 String.

Good, no need to fight terrifying giant spiders.

Levi immediately opened a flax field, used bone meal to accelerate growth, and made a fishing rod.

Cast a couple lines!

In the blink of an eye, it was dark.

Bows, leather, rotten flesh, bowls, tripwire hooks, sticks, water bottles, enchanted books...

"Unfortunately, no good enchantments."

Looking at the chest full of fish and miscellaneous items, he stretched.

But fortunately, after fishing all day, he'd leveled up to the thirties again.

He immediately made a new fishing rod and enchanted it.

Luck of the Sea III, Unbreaking III.

Unfortunately, no Lure.

"Still not bad."

Level III Luck of the Sea more than doubled the probability of catching treasures compared to no enchantment.

At this moment, it was completely dark.

Levi went to the pasture to feed the animals again.

Snip.

Several blocks of wool fell into his backpack.

This was his first time obtaining wool.

Speaking of which, he'd never made a bed before.

After all, he didn't need sleep... as long as he wanted, he could stay energetic indefinitely.

Actually, in his own territory, Levi had never slept. He was either mining or developing. Even the bed in his room was just two wooden planks put together... no blankets.

Ultimately, that thing couldn't really be called a bed.

He looked thoughtful.

He himself didn't mind, but if guests came in the future, having them sleep on wooden planks would be somewhat awkward.

Not everyone was a Ranger who could sleep anywhere.

Finally, Levi made his first bed.

Then he placed one in his master bedroom and all the guest rooms.

"This should be good now."

He placed three beds in his master bedroom, arranging them into one large bed.

Thud... Levi bounced onto the bed.

"Ahh... comfortable!"

He let out a groan, his entire body sinking into the soft wool bed. Drowsiness gradually rose... a feeling no other bed had given him.

Could only say it was worthy of crafting table quality, almost comparable to the beds in Rivendell...

[Spawn point bound]

What!

Whoosh... Levi's drowsiness vanished completely as he immediately stood up.
