Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: When Quiet Turns into Distance

From that night on, something shifted. The world didn't change, but their world did. Their days became threaded with laughter and gentle curiosity. They weren't lovers yet, not entirely. But they were no longer strangers either.

Sunday afternoons were spent walking the winding paths of the hills. Their footsteps crunching against fallen leaves, their words weaving a tapestry of dreams, awkward pauses, and unexpected smiles.

She talked endlessly about books, songs, her childhood adventures, and silly fears. And he… he listened. Not because he had nothing to say, but because her voice was his favourite sound.
