Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Rampaging Divine Beast – Wild Boar

Campioneworld. Sardinia, near the Mediterranean Sea.

After exiting the misty space, Hajime returned to familiar surroundings: the airport.

Unlike the Hajime from Fairy Tail, who had been reincarnated into that world from birth, this Hajime had only arrived a few days ago.

He was stranded in a foreign country, broke. Had he not awakened his cheat ability and quickly connected with his multiverse selves, he might have been sleeping on the streets.

The Tiga version knew many languages; the Fairy Tail version could fight. With their support, Hajime chose caution over recklessness and avoided using magic prematurely. That turned out to be the right call.

When he learned the name of the city, he had some guesses. After some quick online research, he found that this world suffered from frequent "natural disasters." Sardinia, in particular, had recently been plagued by such reports.

He'd gone to one of those affected areas. What he saw confirmed his suspicions: the so-called "natural disasters" were just a cover.

To ordinary people, it was lightning and wind. But to someone with magic like Hajime, the divine beasts behind them were perfectly visible.

He realized this world was Campione

In this world, gods descend in rogue forms and cause destruction. Some rare humans can kill them and gain their powers—becoming Campiones.

His goal had always been to become one of them.

Now that he had the power to slay gods, he wasn't going to waste the opportunity.

"Emergency alert: a tornado has appeared within 5 kilometers of the airport. All passengers are advised to stay indoors!"

The announcement played on loudspeakers as the skies visibly darkened—not from nightfall, but from swirling black clouds. Trees bent and snapped under the howling wind.

Even the most rebellious locals were forced inside.

"Wind?" Hajime muttered. As a fan of the original story, he instantly knew—this was caused by Verethragna, one of the rogue gods.

Verethragna had descended alongside Melqart. In their battle, Verethragna was defeated and shattered into ten aspects scattered across the land.

This tornado? Likely one of the wind aspects.

He remembered a similar storm from a few days ago. Back then, it calmed down quickly—Verethragna must have reclaimed that wind aspect. Now it had reappeared, meaning Verethragna was using it to retrieve the others.

The battle between Verethragna and his fragments caused these disasters.

Realizing this, Hajime immediately went against the flow of people—toward the storm.

A security guard tried to stop him, but in the blink of an eye, Hajime vanished.

The guard rubbed his eyes. Had he seen a ghost?

---

Within five kilometers of the airport, Hajime reformed his body from a beam of light. The area had already been evacuated. Buildings were destroyed, now reduced to rubble.

Amid the ruins stood a 20-meter-tall black wild boar, roaring at the sky.

Wild boars were already ferocious in nature. This divine beast was even worse—its rage was palpable.

The beast opened its massive jaws, magical energy condensing into a sphere. With a deafening roar, it unleashed a shockwave that carved the earth and smashed into the approaching tornado.

The divine boar's attack collided with the wind aspect's assault, leveling every building in the area.

"What a terrifying monster," Hajime muttered. Compared to this, Udaeus—the floor boss in DanMachi—was like a glass statue.

Their sizes were similar, but in terms of power? The divine boar would crush Udaeus instantly.
