Chapter 2 - The lie is my perk

''Do you feel better?''

''Y-Yes! I feel very good.''

''Ok, I'll give you a medical order.''

Sitting in the chair of a room in a hospital belonging to a poor countryside, a doctor whom anyone saw would think that he was not only a professional doctor but also undeniably handsome. He was typing quickly on the keyboard, his focused eyes fixed on the computer screen on his desk. His concentration just stopped as the last words on screen were filled.

''Done!'' He took a deep breath. Then, he glanced at a printer on a desk nearby.

Rustle.

Rustle.

Rustle

A medical order was printed slowly, and the young doctor took it with a sense of tiredness. He examined the entire medical order closely, hoping there wouldn't be any errors.

After he had done it, He glanced at his patient, who was standing on the side in front of the glass of the room.

His young patient seemed too frail, with a head nothing but bare. He was also thin, revealing the bone in his skin as soon as he was wearing clothes and standing on his trembling legs.

How unlucky.

This young patient had a serious disease: lung cancer, which had been spreading to his brain. His fate was certainly death, though not quickly, just later.

"Here! It's yours." The young doctor tried to smile as he handed it to his patient.

The young patient smiled weakly in response.

"T-Thank you very ... much!"

Then, he took the medical order from his young doctor's hand and stuffed it into his pocket.

Not yet, the young patient continued to speak while turning to the doctor in hope and eagerness.

"D-Doctor… Have you read my novel yet? A-And then, can you remark on it a bit for me? I wrote it back when I was still healthy."

The patient continued to ramble about his novel. It seemed that it was what he was really proud of.

However, as the young doctor heard this, he slowly scratched his hand through his hair.

He had actually read it, but it was hard to give Patient a proper remark because that novel was really trash, and then, his head was about to explode as he finished with those fuking things.

And at this point, he was being confused.

What if the patient was depressed after those truly painful words?

He didn't know, but even if he lied, everything was alright? Anyway, he also wouldn't say anything because bluff wasn't his strength.

Of course, right then, the patient had realized that as he looked at the young doctor's reluctant expression and actions

"Y-You still haven't read it yet! D-Doctor! W-Why?!" The young patient's expression grew increasingly discomfort.

He slowly stepped back in gasp while trying to lean on his intravenous pole to control his balance.

Doctor had a bit of guilt as he recognized his action was actually affecting his patient; he wasn't expecting it. Yet, his expression also quickly changed as he saw the patient's twisted face.

And then, immediately, the young patient's emotions exploded into anger and gripped his intravenous pole. Without hesitation, he struck the glass partition between the two rooms with all his strength.

Crash.

Shards of broken glass scattered everywhere, making the young doctor panic.

Luckily, the blouse he was wearing was long-sleeved. If it hadn't been, he would have certainly been injured by the sharp glass fragments.

After that, He slowly lowered his right arm, which had just defended his face from the flying shards.

After that, what appeared before him was the young patient's angry expression. The patient looked like a wild demon, and the young doctor was silent in worry.

He gulped, all the while he cursed in his mind.

''I wasn't trained for this fucking thing.''

The young patient shouted with a loud, powerful voice, completely unlike his earlier frail tone.

"F*CK YOU! Why didn't you read it? I'll KILL YOU!"

He instantly lunged at the young doctor behind the glass partition with unbelievable speed, willing to grip his neck tightly.

''Aahhh…''

Surprised by all things happening, Doctor fell into panic and lost his calm and wisdom. He tried to run and shout in desperation to someone who might save him.

"G-Guard!.. N-Nurse! Is someone here?"

However, he also quickly realized his situation, as the hospital where he had been working was just a small and shabby place, where a single doctor would do everything, including nursing and guards' business.

He couldn't do anything as just a few seconds, his neck was locked tightly by the patient's grip.

The young doctor managed to resist this damn patient, but he couldn't do anything. The grip on his neck was too strong.

'I-Impossible!'

This was truly abnormal. The damn patient's hand was thin, just skin wrapped around his bones. How could he be so powerful?

'Die! Die! Die! Die!'

The fucking patient, with a distorted expression, kept slamming the young doctor's head down onto the floor. And then he did it again.

Looking at the situation, the young doctor was like a house cat struck by a small rat.

"It hurts too much!" The young doctor grimaced in unbearable pain. His head grew dazed and disoriented.

A few seconds later, his mind began to spiral into chaos. Everything around him became unclear, fading into a blur. And he also began to feel the vicious stream of blood below his head during the impact with amongst hard floor.

It was probably that his skull was being broken.

However, he might die from suffocation instead of loss of blood since the patient's grip on his neck tightened more and more.

Eventually, He gradually gave up resistance, and his body slowly became limp and unresponsive.

"If I'd known this, I would never have traveled to this godforsaken place. If I survive, I'll definitely quit this job."

"Damn it, no more chance.''

The last bit of his strength faded away. Everything before his eyes turned into endless darkness.

Yet, the patient showed no sign of stopping his killing, his murderous intent unrelenting
