The golden wolf beastman who'd been giving orders at the long built-in oval table that faced the image wall turned toward Li Shen and then said suddenly, his voice unchanged from before, sweet and almost eager.
"Go? Go where…? Isn't this a really dangerous situation?" Li Shen asked, his voice uncertain.
"Captain, why don't you escort Li Shen yourself?" one soldier said. "That'll put him at ease. And being next to you is the safest place for him."
"…You're right. We've already done most of what we can here. Just keep the comm-link from breaking and I'll be right back. Gorou, I'm handing you first command temporarily. Take care of it, alright?"
"Yes, ma'am!" someone answered firmly.
Before Li Shen could make sense of it all, Cinniuint walked quickly over to him, scooped him up as if it were the most natural thing in the world, and carried him in her arms. He was so startled by the sudden movement that he couldn't find proper words.
"Cinniuint—!"
