Rico chuckled as he looked over the armored vehicle that was sitting before him. It was a massive piece of armor that looked like it could take at least one or two hits from a tank. Some of the designs were definitely not street legal. But they were also from Gotham and they had their new emblem painted on the side.
"So I guess we are stuck with the Badger theme?" Rico asked as walked around it. It had rear doors that opened up to the back and two hatches on the roof. While the driver and passenger seats were separated from the back. It would basically be a troop transport for their mercenary group.
"Hell yeah! But now we need some of that wicked cool armor that you got next! Think you can find another set? I kinda want to recreate it." Gearbox declared, he was covered in grease oil and soot. But he was smiling.
He was talking about Rico's armor that the system gave him. He could get another set and hand it over to Gearbox. Let him experiment to see if he can get it to work or make a variation on the armor. Rico should probably do the same with the rest of his gear as well. Let Gearbox study it so he could reverse engineer it and recreate it.
"I will look into it." Rico offered with a chuckle as he finished doing his walk around just as the others walked in. "So have you made your decisions?" Rico asked as he walked over, "Unfortunately the ultimate target of the operation will recognize me if I wander over there so we need two of you to take physical notes while scouting. The details of the observation targets and the rules while scouting are inside this file."
"Myself and Sweetie will be going on your mysterious scouting mission." Coin sauntered up and took the folder from him. "Meanwhile, Gearbox and T-Dog will stay with you for the other mission to retrieve the goods from LexCorp. All while Edgelady keeps us all in contact from her safe basement."
There was a voice over the PA system in the garage, "hey! I like it down here. It has everything a girl could want. Aside from that promised impenetrable server."
Rico nodded, "I know I know I am working on it. Then to top it all off Ivy will be protecting the place while we are gone. Just in case." He then clapped his hands together as he looked around the refurbished and cleaned garage.
All three of their buildings had been completely refurbished and cleaned while he was gone. They all still looked somewhat grimy on the outside but that was by design. On the other hand all three were looking far more interesting on the inside.
The warehouse did have a few plants and trees that grew along cracks, but he had not received any complaints even about the garden that was growing on all three buildings' roofs. Inside the warehouse there were four floors all made to work as living spaces. The lowest basement had four rooms set up for it. The floor above it had four rooms set up as well. Then the ground floor only had two larger rooms that could count as family spaces and a reception area. The top floor was Ivy's workshop and their shared living space.
The garage externally still looked grimy and had graffiti on the garage door and walls. But internally it had a single office on the second floor with a raised walkway leading to it. Then all along the walls were shelves of metal and car parts. In the center of the room was a raised platform a vehicle could park and he could work on it. There was also enough room to park a second vehicle by the back door. According to Gearbox it was his paradise. Ivy did not like going near the place but she was satisfied in covering it in greenery.
The last building, the gym. It had a fully functional bathroom and locker room. While the second floor had been converted back into an office. Where they kept the not so sensitive documents and records as well as a 'workspace' for Rico when he got back. Connected to the office were raised walkways that went around the edge of the gym. While in the gym itself were four areas to workout and train. Then on the far side was a janitor's closet with a hidden underground door that led to Edgelady's secret room and living space.
It has turned out well so far. But he had a feeling he would have to expand to encompass a few more buildings in the future. Then maybe he could just buy up the whole block. Apparently Penguin's goons had stopped by at some point but kept walking when they realized a bunch of mercenaries had set up shop and they were not a group that could just get muscled in on.
Even Red Hood had stopped by to figure out what was going on. After learning they had set up shop he left, saying he would recommend them for some work in the future. But they did not have high hopes for that.
As for people to hire to join the Mercenaries. Rico already had a line on a few people who he could hire. The first of which was Waylon Jones, or rather Killer Croc. He had already set Dahl's sights on getting the charges dropped because of discrimination due to his appearance. There was a lot of leeway because of his crime resulting in others' discrimination.
Then there were a few other people who he was looking into. One of which was Katana, she was currently wandering America. She was not currently working as a vigilante nor was she doing anything else. She had completed her mission and had been kicked out of Japan. So now she was just a wandering swordsman. It would be a good idea for him to snatch her up and turn her into a mercenary.
Then there was Bronze Tiger. He was currently on a job to take down the Green Arrow. But he should be able to get him to join long term. He just had to wait until he was done with his current job to approach him.
The last one he had an eye on was Artemis of Bana-Mighdall. Freshly returned from Tartarus, apparently, she was between work at the moment. Making it a prime time to snatch her up as well.
Although at the moment he had to focus more on the job they were going to do tomorrow. Which was to pick up the item from LexCorp and bring it to the place Amanda told them about.
