Chapter 148 - Chapter 148: Returning To Marvel

"I didn't expect i couldn't even withstand a single blow…" Wes murmured to himself, eyes filled with shock.

He had always known that the Black Dragon — Acnologia — was powerful, but he never imagined it would be to such a despair-inducing extent.

That terrifying power felt as if it could destroy everything in existence, making anyone before it feel utterly insignificant and helpless.

"A genuine monster… I really wonder what kind of earth-shattering scene it would be if Zeref made a move."

Deep longing flickered in Wes Elwin's eyes. He yearned for power of that magnitude.

Just as Acnologia's roar was about to strike Tenrou Island, the entire island suddenly shone with dazzling golden light.

Wes immediately understood — Mavis had taken action.

Appearing in her spectral form, she combined the faith and magic of Natsu Dragneel and the others to activate Fairy Tail's absolute defensive magic — Fairy Sphere, protecting every guild member on the island.

Wes knew he was Fairy Tail's enemy, so the magic wouldn't protect him.

And he definitely had no intention of spending seven years at the bottom of the ocean.

Thus, at the final moment, he decisively teleported back to the Marvel world.

Returning to his potion shop, he found that despite being away for some time, with the help of magic, the entire room remained spotless.

The familiar arrangement and atmosphere brought him a faint sense of comfort.

Grrr—grrr—

Wes's stomach suddenly growled loudly. Only then did he realize he hadn't eaten anything for half a day.

After several fierce battles, he was already starving.

He pushed open the front door, and the lively noises from outside instantly poured in.

The moment the door opened, the Muggle-Repelling Charm he had cast automatically deactivated.

The passersby did not notice a small shop suddenly appearing on the street. They continued hurriedly on their way, completely oblivious.

Only a few "observant individuals" noticed the sudden appearance of the little shop.

"Target sighted."

"Keep an eye on him."

Those agents who thought they were well hidden had no idea that Wes had already noticed every one of them.

He simply had no interest in exposing them.

Wes strolled leisurely along the street, looking for a restaurant that suited his tastes.

He moved through the crowd unhurriedly, and the agents trailing him quietly did not follow him into the restaurant after he went inside.

They understood that in such a public place, being too obvious would only cause unnecessary trouble.

Wes found a quiet corner in the restaurant and sat down, patiently waiting for his food.

The warm atmosphere of the restaurant spread around him, soft lighting falling across the tables, creating a particularly comfortable ambiance.

Just then, a deafening roar suddenly echoed from the sky — like rolling thunder, instantly shattering the city's calm.

Immediately after came a loud clang, as if some massive metal object had landed nearby.

"Oh my god, it's Iron Man!"

Someone in the crowd shouted, their voice full of excitement and delight.

In an instant, everyone's gaze was pulled toward the metallic figure.

The gleaming armor shone brilliantly under the sunlight.

Tony greeted the surrounding crowd with his usual flamboyant charm. His confident smile and stylish gestures sent the people around him into a frenzy.

He walked straight toward the table where Wes was sitting, his presence impossible to ignore in the restaurant.

The diners, upon seeing him, excitedly pulled out their phones to take pictures.

Tony — still in his armor — even cooperatively struck a few handsome poses, looking as if he were walking a runway in a fashion show.

"Alright, everyone, let's be considerate of the other guests here. As compensation for disturbing your meals, today's bill is on me."

Tony's voice was magnetic and full of confidence.

His generosity was met with cheers. People were completely captivated by the superhero's charisma and boldness.

The atmosphere in the restaurant instantly heated up, excitement spreading across every face.

Tony casually plopped himself down across from Wes, a curious and teasing expression on his face.

"Didn't expect the mysterious magician to be this young. I thought the guy behind the mask would be some white-haired old man."

His tone carried both surprise and mischief.

"If you're into white-haired old men, I can introduce you to an elderly wizard who's been alive for 110 years. With your sense of humor, I'm sure he'd like you," Wes replied calmly.

Tony instantly got goosebumps. His expression twisted in shock.

"You wizards do that too?!"

Wes simply stared at Tony in silence.

That gaze seemed to pierce straight through him, making Tony uncomfortable.

"Fine, fine." Tony surrendered with a playful French salute. "I came to thank you. The potion you gave me bought me a lot of time. But I had nightmares for a whole month after that. Do you have more? I can pay a high price."

Tony looked at him expectantly. He believed there was no one in the world who could refuse his offer.

But Wes shook his head.

"Or maybe sell me the formula…" Tony pressed on, unwilling to give up.

"I think you'd prefer never to know what ingredients that potion was made from."

Wes's tone was calm, but with a hint of mystery.

"Worse than palladium poisoning?" Tony frowned.

"A hundred times worse."

Wes's answer made Tony's heart tremble.

If Tony ever learned what was used to make the potion he drank, he'd probably live with guilt for the rest of his life.

"…Fine." Tony shrugged, giving up on prying any further. "I said I'd repay you once everything was handled. So—what do you want?"

Tony spoke with absolute confidence. Money, women, status, resources — whatever it was, he believed he could provide it.

In his mind, there was nothing he couldn't obtain.

"I don't need anything. Or rather — what I need isn't something you can give."

Wes's response was concise and firm.

"What??"

Tony's face froze, filled with disbelief.

There was actually something he, Tony Stark, couldn't provide?

Was this guy questioning his capabilities?

Wes couldn't be bothered to argue with this egotistical man any longer.

At that moment, the waitress approached with Wes's food — though her attention was clearly fixed on Tony.

Tony gave her a charming smile, and she practically melted on the spot.

Wes focused solely on enjoying his lunch.

"Alright, if you ever run into trouble, you know where to find me."

Tony, in full armor, strutted out of the restaurant.

He was a busy man, after all. No time to waste on a single person.

Wes continued eating without even lifting his head, completely ignoring the curious stares around him.

Every pair of eyes in the restaurant was fixed on him, filled with intrigue and speculation.
