Chapter 155 - Chapter 155

The firelight faded, plunging the refinery's sky back into inky blackness.

A bold guard poked his head out, scanning the stars.

No sign of Jason.

"Did we… get him?" He asked, voice shaky, no real confidence.

Who the fuck was Jason? The guy who tore through New York and L.A., untouchable by the military and that shadowy SHIELD outfit.

A guy like that, taken out by a few security guards with a dozen rockets? If so, he had to be a fake.

"Stay sharp!" The squad leader barked. "Jason's America's most wanted. No way he goes down that easy."

The team nodded, quickly reloading their rocket launchers.

A figure plummeted from the sky.

"He's here!" A guard yelled, finger twitching toward the trigger.

"Hold it!" The leader snapped. "Are you blind? That's the oil depot!"

Jason was a crafty bastard, diving from the depot's direction.

If they fired and missed, hitting the oil tanks, the whole place would go up in flames.

The trigger-happy guard froze, yanking his finger off the trigger just in time.

In that split-second of hesitation, Jason was on them.

Some guards dropped their launchers, grabbing rifles and unloading on him.

Bullets rained on Jason, useless as fucking pebbles, clattering to the ground.

Their solid defensive line crumbled because they couldn't risk hitting the depot.

Jason landed, stomping the earth.

He shot forward like an arrow, closing the gap.

Raising a fist crackling with energy, he smashed through a guard's bulletproof vest, punching a hole clean through his body.

A roar came from behind. "Jason! Die, you fuck!"

The leader and a few guards, eyes red with rage, fired their launchers.

The moment Jason breached their line, they knew their buddy was done.

*Boom!*

Rockets screamed toward the cover.

The position exploded into fragments, swallowed by fire.

The leader panted, staring at the ruins, eyes unblinking.

But disappointment hit again. That devil's whisper came from above.

"Man, you're brutal. I was gonna leave him in one piece, but you blew him to fucking bits. Good luck to his family in identifying the body."

The guards froze, scrambling to reload.

Jason didn't give them a chance.

Head down, wind at his feet, he dove like a fighter jet, grabbing the leader by the waist and hauling him 100 meters up.

"Fly, motherfucker!"

Gripping the leader's collar, Jason hurled him like a baseball.

*Crack!*

The leader slammed into the refinery's massive chimney, body embedding deep, stuck like a squashed fly.

The leader's death sent his team into a panic.

Jason's speed was unreal—no time to aim.

In the few minutes he'd vanished, he'd checked Stark Industries' website, pulling specs on the rocket launchers.

Their power was legit, but precision guidance needed a three-second lock.

Keep moving fast, and those launchers were just fucking sticks.

Jason played it smart, using his flight to stay out of sight, then diving from unexpected angles like a hawk snatching prey, yanking guards into the sky and letting them taste a free-fall death ride.

Two minutes later, the area was clear.

The ground was littered with human-shaped meat smears.

Two jokers assigned to the zone arrived.

Jason dropped from the sky. "Guards are done. Go."

They nodded, yanked open the workshop door, and screams erupted inside.

*Rat-tat-tat!*

The jokers sprayed automatic fire into the workers.

Jason watched briefly, saw they had it handled, then rocketed up to find his next target.

In the time he'd spent, the jokers had clashed with more guards.

Outnumbered and outgunned, they were pinned down, unable to move.

Jason spotted his moment and dove again.

His target: a guard in heavy armor, blasting away with a heavy machine gun.

*Boom!*

Jason crashed behind him.

The guard spun, startled, but dizziness hit as Jason grabbed his ankle, hoisting him like a chicken.

"Off you go!"

Jason flung him with one arm, creating another dead-fly mural.

No time to linger—he vanished, hunting the next mark.

With Jason in the fight, the jokers' pressure eased. They wiped out the hundred-plus guards and stormed their target facilities.

Jason stretched, a light sweat on him.

Floating in the air, he cooled off, checking his watch, waiting.

Three!

Two!

One!

*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*

Explosions tore through the refinery's oil depot and butane tanks.

A blinding white light seared Jason's eyes, tears streaming.

"Shit!"

He squinted, stealing a glance.

Gorgeous mushroom clouds bloomed over the refinery.

Deafening blasts followed, the ground quaking hard enough to be felt 100 kilometers away.

Jason's face flushed with excitement, eyes locked on the scene.

"Holy fuck! That mushroom cloud's goddamn beautiful!"

One look, and he was hooked, in love with the chaos.

Stunning, but too short-lived.

Next time, he'd make it bigger.
