A boy around the age of 7 named Mark sitting in front of a chessboard, opposite of him a teenager around the age of 18 name Williams holding a chess piece between his fingers.
"Okay Mark I'll explain it one last time before we play again so listen carefully" said Williams.
Mark nods.
"This piece is called The King this piece can only move one square in any direction, in order to win to you must protect your king and while also capturing your opponent's king"
"This is a Queen like the king it can move up, down, and diagonal but unlike the king it can move as far as possible"
"This is a pawn if this piece haven't been move before, it can move up to 2 square forward, but if it is moved before it can only move one square, unlike the other pieces where the move and captures are the same this piece can only capture pieces if the opponent's pieces are diagonal to it"
"This is the rook it can move as far as it wants, but only forward, backward, and to the sides"
"This is the bishop it can move as far as it wants, but only diagonally. Each bishop starts on one color and must always stay on that color"
"The Knights can move in a very different way from the other pieces – going two squares in one direction, and then one more move at a 90-degree angle, just like the shape of an "L". It can also jump over other pieces if another piece is blocks it's path" Williams patiently explain to Mark while arranging the position.
"I am currently white so according to the rules I must move first" said Williams while moving he's pawn to e4.
Mark looked at the board, took a deep breath and move his black pawn to e5.
Williams calmly reply with a Bishop c4.
Then Mark immediately replied with Knight c6 in which Williams moved his Queen to h5 while grinning and look at Mark in the eyes .
Mark suspicious of Williams odd behavior looked intently at the board, especially the queen because that was the start when Williams starting behaving weirdly.
Afraid that there might be something wrong With the Queen, Mark placed his Knight in f6 threatening to capture the Queen hoping it will retreat.
Williams now having a full blown smile slowly lifted the Queen and takes the black's pawn at the f7."And that is what we called checkmate"
