"It was here when I entered to tidy your room..." Cassius spoke softly from the doorway. "I have no idea where it came from."
Levian placed down his sword and stared at the stone.
It was exactly the same as the one used by the empire, though its glow was an unnatural red, rather than purple.
This doesn't make any sense. Ever since the age of despair, humans have only owned five of these, and they were heavily guarded by the Five Megacities.
Any other awakening stone in the
World of Malo were owned by the other ten empires.
"Just how did this end up here?" He muttered whilst scratching his chin.
Cassius stood there, with no idea.
"What will you do with it, master?" He then asked nervously.
Levian hardly needed to think before answering. He reached for the stone. "I'll bring it to my father. The nation will be able to use this for—"
"Wait!"
"..."
Levian looked back at his elf servant, a brow raised in confusion.
The young boy stood there, cheeks redder than ever.
"Sorry for raising my voice... but can I make a suggestion?"
"...If you must."
Cassius let out a sigh of relief.
"Why don't you try to use the awakening stone first, and then hand it over to your father. This is a once in a life time opportunity, and perhaps something will be different!"
The elf spoke with excitement, and at first, Levian thought it was a stupid idea.
Then, after consideration, his opinion flipped completely.
He's right... What if I spent the rest of this night trying to awaken, and then gave it to my father after succeeding?
I could chalk it off as an accident. Claim that it happened after I lifted the stone.
A smile spread across Levian's face.
"I like the way you think."
---
Levian sat alone on his bed with the crystal in front of him.
He had ordered Cassius to keep watch outside, and knock if anyone was approaching.
This is it. A chance given to me by the gods.
He placed his hands over the stone and covered his eyes.
It felt different from the times at the city plaza. Not just because of the red glow, but rather something about his connection to the stone itself.
Come on, come on, come on!
He focused, and then focused further.
He waited for the stone to resonate with his body.
And then, finally.
[Legendary Weapons System Awakened!]
Huh?
All Levian could do was sit there for a moment, staring down at the crystal in disbelief.
Rather than losing its glow, it now shined brighter than ever.
He felt his body and mind changing.
It was as though he had finally been given access to his true self.
I've done it... I've actually done it.
He wanted to leap up and down in joy, but first he had to check out his system

There was so much to take in.
It was clear to Levian that his talent was absolutely broken, despite awakening no Skills.
However, he was more focused on an important detail at the top.
"An elf? That doesn't even make any sense."
He rubbed at his ears in confusion. Then his hair.
My whole family is human. How could I possibly be an elf—
The thought was cut off as his door suddenly swung open.
He went to pull his bedsheets over the stone to hide it, but didn't need to.
As it was his elf servant Cassius that was standing there, no longer nervous.
In fact, his whole demeanour seemed different from before.
"C-cassius..." Levian stuttered. "My awakening worked, but something's wrong."
Cassius simply smiled at the noble, and shrugged his shoulders.
"Nothing is wrong, Levian." The boy said in a tone more proud than a servant should have. "You are a True Elf aren't you?"
Levian stared at his servant in disbelief. "How did you..."
"How could I not know? Only two true elves exist in our world at this time... it was just a matter of finding you."
"What? But you didn't find me. My father Odin took you in as slave of war during the first human-elven war."
"All calculated. Oh, and you should probably stop calling him father. You and that man are not related."
Before Levian could open his mouth to retort, Cassius continued.
"Now, as a True Elf, you should have awakened an SSS-Rank talent. Could you tell me what it does?"
Levian wanted to ask a thousand questions, but for now, he decided to push them to the side.
After all, Cassius was right. His talents were incredible.
The excitement still brewed inside of him, it had just been overshadowed by shock.
Levian sighed and explained his talent to Cassius.
However, he did not tell the boy about his second talent.
It was good to keep some secrets to himself.
The young elf scratched his chin, and a great smile spread across his face.
"Excellent!" He cheered. "Let's test it out."
The young elf opened his soulspace and pulled free a purple dagger.
The soulspace was a location that existed within the souls of an Awakened. They could store items and summon them into existence from out of nowhere.
Afterwards, he handed the dagger to Levian.

"This is common weapon for elves, you can keep it." Cassius explained. "Try putting it inside of your soulspace, and see if it emerges as Legendary."
Levian did as he said.
Putting a weapon inside of your soulspace was as simple as willing the weapon to vanish.
Once it did, he felt his soulspace hovering inside of his mind like a physical Inventory that he could call on at any time.
He felt the Purpleglass Dagger resting there, unchanged.
However, once he summoned it...
[Legendary Weapon Acquired!]
The dagger looked nothing like it did before.
