Roger smiled while drinking the tea. It was boring to drink such low quality tea. They had not given him the tea that he had sold off got from the intent slave plants were only sold to the rich. They were not needed by people to live by, like other food and hence he had no interest in selling such food for lower amount of money.
But he still did not expect them to only give him such low mystical high quality food. No matter how much high quality it was, it was not as high quality as the items he had enhanced using intent. Some might be better than the final product enhanced only using the intent but it would not be as good as the final product made using intent in each step and made by the intent slaves that when having intent would produce any and all items grown on its body of the highest quality possible.
Roger put down the cup of tea after taking a sip. He had completed the basic necessary etiquette. Lady Amelia smiled as she saw what he did. Some might claim that he had disrespected the nation of Athens but the lords will not think so as he had respected them by taking a sip. They had arranged the teat that he had sold in his room for when he needed to drink it. But for in official cases like now, they could not let him drink something that he had sold off.
Amelia smiled and said, "As per the protocol you were supposed to be taken to visit the speaker and then visit the noble that invited you. Duke Archduke has arranged the Brilfax castle to let you stay."
Roger smiled and asked, "Is there anything else?"
Amelia smiled and said, "All what you need to do next is to be decided by you. We will try to fulfil all of your demands as long as it does not break the limit."
Roger nodded. He smiled and said, "I have heard that you still maintain many of your old customs such as balls, fight to death, glory of knights.'
Amelia nodded. She asked, "What do you want to enjoy?"
Roger smiled and said, "Although I have a lot of loyal subordinates, I do not have a knight under me. Knight are not due to strength or due to being skilled in one kind of thing. It is a profession that needs strength, skill and the most important faith and loyalty to their master. This time I came here in hope of finding a knight who is willing to be loyal to me. I hope that such a knight swears to me and will train a knight regiment under me."
Amelia nodded. Knights were still present in the current era. Profesions stay as long as the society needs it and the professionals can earn from the professions. During a peaceful era, there are many who wants to be actors and dancers as they can earn much more than farmers and even soldiers. Even during the medieval era, pretty women dreamt of becoming dancers to earn some money and become the mistresses of the lord. But during war time, this is not the case as they all want to be soldiers who get fed and who can eat more food.
In the medieval times 2000 years ago since Athens came into being after breaking away from the empire of Horus, they lived in the absolute code of nobles without a king and nobles needing to have merit to maintain their nobility. Atlantian government had no kings nor nobles but they kept working to find the reason about the world. They have 8000 years of records about pure research on philosophy, theology and spirituality. Their ideas was right but not all could awaken aura. So they wasted that long time on research on aura and mystical concepts. It is only 200 years before that some became pragmatic and started their research on the real world such as mass and speed and started the scientific revolution. Atlantian government officials are given power as per the research results they publish. The whole nation hardly has 10 million citizens even thought they have 500 million civilians.
During these times, only a few strong nobles in Athens could have a knight regiment even thought all the nobles had some knights. Each knight would have a full plate armour and would be trained to the limit in strength and in all weapons. Their only creed is loyalty to their lord and war is their religion. Each knight in history to be named knights should be trained enough to lift 200 kg of weight with both hands and should be able to kill 100 armed men all at once. They could easily do it as compared to the bandits and temporary and permanent soldiers who had very few resources to eat and strengthen their body and no one teach them the skills that was perfected over time, they had unlimited food and never slept hungry, they had skills written in books and taught by teachers, letting them learn, and had never had to work to earn money.
So every knight was strong and important. A knight regiment needed at least 50 knights to make one knight regiment. Which lord could feed that many people and cloth them and armour them with the possibility that they shall never be sent over to fight in a war at all.
But this was the modern era. Does food cost much? Does steel cost much? There were even certain nobles who had multiple knight regiments and had clothed them in various kinds of armour. There was a reason why Athens had higher level research on metal alloys and had results. Even Atlantis could not catch up to them.
So in this nation run by nobles and where people were taught to believe in nobles and make achievements to become one, there were many knight schools. They had to pass the exam in terms of skills and then test their certificate to get the licence as a knight. They will have to test their strength every year to retain this certificate. The only way to get away from this restriction was to swear under a lord in which case even if they have their strength degraded, they would not need to worry about losing the identity of a knight. If not, after they age, they will surely lose their identity.
So in this nation while knights were nothing more than ceremonial position who were respected and held high positions in the military as sent by their noble lords, there were many who just lived by the stipend given to them by the government. There were many political leaders from other nations who had come to this nation to get the alliance of some knights as they surely have to be loyal to the one they have sworn to, even betraying Athens if that is what they want.
So Amelia knew that they had a new friend as anyone interested in their culture will be interested in being friends with them. She smiled and said, "I will have it done. Do you want us to arrange a ball for you."
Roger smiled and said, "All the people around me are good looking. They are genetically perfect. I hope that the ones I come into contact with is good looking."
Amelia smiled and said, "We do not have such technology."
Roger smiled and said, "I am willing to sell aura pills for 1 kg of pure gold each. You can buy it from the people under me . I will authorize it."
She nodded. Roger wanted to have more friends and he wanted to have more women as his own. But he does not like seeing ugly women. Even the prettiest women were ugly for him. But if the slaves who were not so good looking could be made to be good looking, he could make the really pretty ones more prettier. He knew that although his intent slaves were pretty, they were not so pretty enough. There was a limit to how much they can be beautified even though each increase in intent level increased their beauty further. But he was sure that their children will be really beautiful as they will be born with high level of intent.
Anyway, since most of the men and women he was going to come in contact with were higher level people of the society, whether they were rich, the elite or the leaders. So he planned and sold aura pills worth 100 kg of aura for 1 kg of gold. The exchange shall only occur when they pay in gold and shall not be exchanged for money. This shall increase the value of gold and the rich, the elite (in their own fields) and the leaders will be able to buy it easily and should be able to become prettier as they cannot control aura unless they awaken aura.
He smiled hoping to let the world change. He said to Amelia, "You should leave and arrange the things, I want to spent some time alone."
She nodded and left. Roger connected to all the intent slaves who had taken the job of being aura pills salesman and transferred aura to them in huge amounts to let them make aura pills. They did not have unlimited aura after all.
