Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 1

Roger had never liked his parents as they were dead. He did not hate them but there were times during nights when he expected if they were alive so that he could live a happy and simple life.

But he had to live a harsh life with his grandmother who had to take care of him with the pension money she had. The money due to the accident of his parents were saved by her to let him attend the college. His mother was supposedly an orphan and his father was a single child which had let him live a lonely life with his grandmother.

He had to work hard to take care of her even though she was indeed not too weak. But there were certain things that an old women could not do. So he had to work hard. But in all manners it was not the lack of money nor the lack of protection of his possible family that let him live a sad life, but the fact that he had to work hard to take care of the house, had to work hard on the fields since he was 9 years old and the fact that he had to study in the government aided school which for him with better intellect could not let him see a future without much success that made him decadent and sad.

There were times he enjoyed the slow life as unlike how other students who had good and not so bad family studies alongside with him, who were forced to study and were tensed as they were expected much for, he just had to enjoy a good life. He just had to work on the fields once a month a year as he had a small area of land. He just could work part time without being blocked by parents or teachers and could use that money to buy any ice cream or carbonated drink.

But he still wanted to climb higher. So he had spent a lot of time without playing with other village children or running away from ducks or playing with the dogs. He had spent his extra money by buying extra books that was specific to national entrance exam for undergraduate exams, As for snacks, he never cared as he just ate the most nutritious food made by his grandmother.

But he knew that he could not grow up much high. Although he had enough intelligence to know that he would just get a mid-level rank and get into a college and with the money saved for him as fixed deposit, he could pass the college without having to take a loan. Since he had no connection, he could not get any director position in his life. The most he could get was to learn enough, get internship and a job and work for years to get to that of a manager position. He was not sure enough about it as he was not sure if the company might go bankrupt or if he would be betrayed by the superiors.

So for him, life still was harsh. Even though he had found that he could remember everything when he read it once and he could understand it easily, he was not sure if that was enough to let him become a proper researcher as praised by the teachers to aim for. He was not sure if being able to learn was more than enough to just be a good scientist as he had read reports about how scientists were looked down upon by actors or singer or even had to live a harsh life with a small salary. Only the best could stand alone and tall in such fields but the problem remained that he was not sure if being able to learn was enough.

So he simply wanted to learn enough to just be an ordinary worker and he will not input too much and just live by. But for now, he planned to give his all as if he could get into the best college as he had learnt all he could get, even though he had not learnt enough extra knowledge as they were priced, that would be the good enough for him in all manners. Such advanced universities provided connections with the children of rich who had got admission due to sponsorship as the nation of Circe never cared about keeping such things hidden. They believed that rich has the right to gain admission as long as they paid enough as this was not breaking the law. This also ensured that the heirs of the rich can meet talents of similar level as the amount of money they spent on sponsorship ensured which college they could enter.

But that never mattered for him as he was not strong enough to break the rules or let even the rules to bypassed for him. But he still lived his life in his own manner.
