It was a rainy day, with heavy downpour and towering clouds covering the sky. There was an old house made of red bricks, located in the city of Luftghton. The house was surrounded by a garden full of flowers. It was a simple house, but comfortable.
In the small living room of the house, an elderly couple sat on the couch reading books, while a little child played on the floor. The elderly couple were in their seventies, looking healthy and happy. The old man was tall with thick white hair, and the old woman was of medium height with light brown hair. They wore simple but clean and neat clothes.
The little child was eight years old, with an innocent and happy appearance. His hair was black and short, and he wore pants and a white shirt. He was sitting on the floor playing with a toy car.
Suddenly, the phone rang. The old man lifted his head from the book and looked at the ringing phone on the table beside him.
He picked up the receiver and said, "Hello?"

"Yes, I am his father."
"I am a doctor from Sendai Hospital. I'm calling about your son and his wife."

"They were involved in a traffic accident on the highway and are now in intensive care."

"Our son and his wife were in a traffic accident and they are in intensive care. I need to go to the hospital immediately."
Taking a deep breath, the wife said, "We will go with you. We will pray for their recovery."
Soon the family arranged to go to the hospital. The car sped along the highway; it was rainy and dark. The family felt worried and scared, but they were determined to be a source of support for each other.
They arrived at the hospital and headed straight to the intensive care unit. There, they saw their son and his wife lying on beds, receiving treatment. They looked seriously injured but were getting the necessary care from doctors and nurses.
The old man sat beside his son and gently held his hand. "My God, I'm so sorry for what happened to you both. I will stay by your side until you regain your strength."
The old woman took a seat beside her daughter-in-law. "You are strong; you will get through this."
After a short while, a nurse came and told them to let the patients rest as their condition was unstable.
The couple left the room with the little boy, whose worried expression was clearly visible.
Suddenly, all the doctors hurried into the room. The elderly couple and the child waited anxiously in the hall. Shortly after, the chief doctor came out with sadness and sorrow on his face.
"The two patients have died. I am sorry for your loss."
