Alys's point of view
"Whaaat?! Kei actually said that?!"
Aya shouted when I told her what happened the day before.
"Yeah. She wants to be the first girl Drake will take seriously, that's why she's acting like that."
"Wow. So basically, she's just… challenged by Drake."
"Yeah, something like that."
Sigh! Why does Kei want a challenge anyway?
She should've just joined Survivor.
This life is such a mess. =___=
"So, what's your plan now, Ms. Alys Perez?"
"I don't know. Maybe… get back together with Drake?"
I said while lowering my head.
Then Aya suddenly laughed really loud.
What's so funny about what I said?!
"Wahaha! Oh my God, Besh! The way you said you're getting back together, you make it sound like you were actually in a relationship! Hahaha!"
Then she laughed again.
Seriously!
"Why? Technically speaking, we were together.
And take note—I was the one who broke up with him! I did!
M-E!"
I said. Hey, I still have my pride, okay?!
I'm the one who dumped him. Wahaha!
"Maybe it's because you didn't let Drake say a word.
You just rapid-fired him like a machine gun."
"Try being supportive for once, Aya. Just try."
I rolled my eyes.
I'm gonna go crazy.
One heartbroken guy best friend,
One crazy girl best friend,
One autistic Drake Palma,
And me—complete fool.
"Okay, fine. So what are you going to do now?"
"I don't know. Do I look like this face knows what to do?"
I asked her. Then she grabbed my face.
Take note—she grabbed it!
"Hmm. Based on your face, you really don't know what to do.
Your face symbolizes the face of someone who's definitely going to fail."
She said that with a serious expression.
"Aya, do you want a flying kick?"
"Ah-eh, hehehe. This girl, can't even take a joke.
Your face looks like the face of a very smart and beautiful creature.
Oh, oh—so? Are you going to treat me now?"
"Tss. You're always asking me to treat you. I'll tell your mom, I swear."
"Hehehe."
Then we bought fries and soda.
We were silently planning how I'd get back together with Drake.
Ugh. Gross.
Me? Get back together? With Drake?
Oh my f*cking god. Just thinking about it makes me cringe. =___=
After break, we went back to the room.
Wow, amazing. He's our classmate.
Good thing he's forever asleep—I won't feel too awkward.
But then again, will he even remember that I was his ex?
Eww. What a disturbing thought.
"Ms. Perez! Are you listening?"
Our teacher suddenly yelled.
Oh noes. I just got yelled at by this gremlin.
For sure, I'm going straight to detention.
"Y-yes, ma'am." I stammered.
"If that's the case, then what was I just talking about?"
She asked, eyes widening.
These kinds of teachers are why students are afraid to come to school. =___=
"Just give me the detention slip, ma'am." I said with my head down.
I already told you I wasn't listening. Whatever.
Then the whole class burst out laughing.
Sigh. Sheen is probably turned off by me again.
Why couldn't I have taken after my parents?
All my relatives are smart—like Kuya Clarence.
How am I supposed to get into St. Claire's Academy if my grades are always like this? =___=
"Hay, Ms. Perez. I really don't know what to do with you anymore."
Then she came over and handed me the detention slip.
I hope I get assigned to clean the library.
I spent the rest of the class with my head down.
Haay, Alys. It's barely the start of the school year and you're already collecting problems.
"Good luck with detention, Besh!"
Aya said. I just looked at her.
"Ugh. Go home already!!"
She just laughed.
Why is my best friend so insane?!
So, I headed straight to the OSA (Office of Student Affairs) to turn in my detention slip.
Haay, life.
Good thing Sheen isn't my classmate—it saves me from a bit of embarrassment.
He already probably sees me as hopeless!!
"Ms. Perez, what brings you here?" asked the secretary.
"Detention."
She checked her records to see where I'd be assigned.
Lord, please let it be the library!!
Because what if they assign me to clean the cafeteria?
It's gross to touch stuff people already ate on.
Ew.
"You'll be cleaning in the computer lab.
Yes, you'll be with Mr. Sheen Mendoza," said the secretary.
I immediately looked at her.
"Seriously? With Sheen?!" I asked.
Because hello?? This is a first!
Sheen never gets detention!
He's the President of the Student Council, for crying out loud!
Oh noes! The principal might scold him! =___=
"Yes, Ms. Perez. He was caught cutting class.
Now go to the computer lab so you two won't be here late," she said again.
'Ugh, whatever. Even if we stay there all night—if it's with Sheen, then YES!'
Wow, I'm such a flirt! Hahaha!
But seriously, I feel bad for Sheen.
Because of that Kei!
Can't she see how much Sheen loves her?
And she's out here being stupid over that Drake Palma!
Ugh! So annoying!!
I headed to the third floor because that's where the computer lab was.
When I opened the door, I saw that most of the computers were still on.
Wait—where's Sheen?!
I walked inside and looked for him.
And there he was—sitting in a corner, head down.
I approached and sat beside him.
"Sheen…"
He didn't say anything, but he hugged me.
His head rested on my shoulder, and I felt it—his tears falling.
"Sheen…"
I said his name again.
I didn't know what else to do.
This was the first time I'd ever seen him like this.
My best friend is usually cheerful, always smiling. But now?
He looked like he just lost someone.
Damn it, Kei!!
We stayed like that for a few minutes.
I didn't speak anymore—I just waited for him to tire out from crying.
"What time is it?"
he suddenly asked.
I tensed up and checked my phone.
"It's 5:30."
Then he pulled something out of his bag.
"Here."
He took my hand and slipped a watch onto my wrist.
"H-hey! What's this?" I asked him.
"A wristwatch, Alys.
You're already in fourth year and you still get confused reading the time. Tss."
Then he stood up and brushed off his pants.
"Get up now, we still have to shut down the units,"
and then he held my hand and pulled me up.
Sheet! I'm getting butterflies!!
He held my hand twice! :">
Totally worth it, even if he insulted me again. Hihi.
Good thing I never learned how to read the time—at least I got to hold his hand.
We finished turning off all the units before 6 o'clock.
We left the campus together.
While we were walking, we saw Kei with her cheerleader "friends."
"Kei, aren't you going to follow Drake?"
asked a skinny girl.
"No need, girl. I'll make him mine tomorrow."
Then she smiled at them.
Ugh!! Keep dreaming, Kei. He's just going to dump you too!
"You sure, girl?"
"Never been this sure. What Kei wants, Kei gets."
I looked at the person next to me.
Damn it!! He was tearing up again.
Sheet! Why are you so emotional??
"Ah-eh, Alys. I'll go ahead, okay?
Sorry, I won't be able to walk you home.
My mom asked me to buy something, and I totally forgot.
Sorry, okay?"
Then he walked away immediately.
Sheet, Alys. What to do?!
Even though I really, really love Sheen,
I'd rather see him get back with Kei than watch him be sad and cry all the time.
I left too, taking the back route so they wouldn't see me.
They might end up bullying me again. =___=
They're bullies!!
I was walking out of campus when I saw—Drake Palma?!
Being Alys Perez, I followed him.
So exhausting! This guy's house is soooo far!
Oh well, I'll just call Kuya Clarence to pick me up later. :">
I hid behind a post and just watched.
Sheet. James Bond mode again. =___=
Then suddenly, a really really beautiful woman came out of their gate!!
Drake's living with someone?! OMG!!
Wait—false alarm =___=
A car had just arrived and a man got out—probably Drake's dad?
Then the beautiful woman and Drake's dad kissed?!
Then suddenly—Drake started walking toward me—
TOWARD ME?!!
"Come out."
I looked behind me, but there was no one else!!
He suddenly walked up to me—and pulled me?!!
"H-hey!! Let go of me!!"
I was trying to remove his hand from my shirt—seriously!!
"Drake, who is she?"
asked the very, very beautiful woman.
Drake just looked at her, and then I spoke up:
"I'm his girlfriend, ma'am! Hello!"
I said, bowing and smiling.
Sheet, Alys! You got this! Just go for it—Kei might beat you to it tomorrow!
