I walked her home after everything.
The night was quiet, except for the hum of streetlights and the way her fingers brushed mine every few steps. She didn't pull away—but she didn't grip tightly either.
Like she was still deciding.
When we reached her gate, she turned to face me. Her eyes held questions. Doubts. Maybe even a little hope.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Amara sooner," I said, stepping closer. "I just didn't want to scare you off."
"You didn't," she said. "But silence almost did."
Her words hit harder than any slap. I nodded. I deserved that.
There was a long pause.
"I like you, Jasmine," I said finally. "I've liked you since the day you sat in my seat."
She smirked. "I knew that made you mad."
"It made me obsessed."
We both laughed—but it faded just as quickly. Her eyes flicked to my lips.

I should've walked inside.
I should've said goodnight.
But my heart was racing, and my skin was on fire from how close he stood.
And then… he leaned in.
Not rushed. Not demanding.
Like he was giving me time to say no.
I didn't.
Our lips met—soft, then hungry. Every buried feeling poured into that kiss. Weeks of tension. Weeks of wondering.
And suddenly, everything made sense.
We weren't just sparks.
We were the fire.
When we finally pulled away, breathless and dazed, he smiled.
"I've been waiting for that," he whispered.
I rested my forehead on his. "Let's not wait again."
