Synopsis
A quiet office romance about missed chances, soft confessions, and choosing love when it’s easier not to. Hiro likes his routine. Coding, vending machine coffee, and keeping his feelings for Lin safely tucked away where they can’t mess anything up. But when she gets a job offer in Osaka, the clock starts ticking, and suddenly, staying silent doesn’t feel so safe anymore. Lin, calm and thoughtful, is stuck between career momentum and the life she’s slowly building here. While Hiro fumbles with feelings he's never said out loud, their friends Kayla and Kenji, loud, sharp, and constantly bickering, are doing their best to help... or interfere, depending on the day. What starts as playful teasing slowly turns into something deeper between them too, leaving the whole group tangled in late-night conversations, half-meant jokes, and feelings none of them are ready to name. Told with warmth, dry humor, and the kind of emotional honesty that lingers, Nothing With You is a slow-burn yet short love story about timing, hesitation, and how sometimes, the hardest part of falling for someone is admitting it out loud.

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Some say that when people dream, they dream of their deepest desires. Dreams help us store important memories and lessons. Whether it's someone you hold close, or a past memory you wish you could change, every dream is unique. My dreams, however, are slightly more unusual.

No matter where my dream takes me, a mysterious person would always appear. It didn't matter if I found myself running from a tiger in the Amazon or waking up to fighting zombies in a subway towards Busan. In every dream I can remember, I would always see the same exact girl. The weirdest thing is, I never met or saw this person in the waking world either.

My imagination has always been extremely active, but it always felt surreal whenever I drew near to her. I knew she wasn't someone who I met in person, yet I always felt a pull towards her. An attraction. Like I knew her from somewhere else.

I could never talk to her in my dream, though, since I would always wake up right as I opened my mouth to call out to her.

And just like that, I was yanked out of sleep by my alarm. Same loud, annoying ringtone I've been meaning to change but never do.

I reached under my pillow, grabbed my phone, and hit stop. The screen glowed with the time. 8:23.

I stared at it for a second. Definitely slept in. I got too caught up in that dream again.

I jumped out of bed and started rushing to get ready. I had only been at this job a few weeks, so showing up late wasn't going to make the best impression. It also didn't help that I lived about an hour away from the office.

I threw on my coat, grabbed my uniform, and left in a hurry. No time for breakfast, no time to overthink.

So far, the job's been solid. The people are decent. The company treats me fairly. It's been easy to settle in, even in a short amount of time. I've met a few people I actually enjoy being around, which is rare for me at a new job.

I got in my car and started driving, music already playing through the speakers. I tapped along to the beat and tried to shake off the grogginess.

"Another day of work," I said to myself, staring at the road ahead.

The dream was fading like they always do, but that feeling stuck with me.

It always does.
