Ricario had always seen the world in a blurring grey. During his youth, he found comfort in nature. Animals, in their freedom, drew his attention in ways humans never could.
His love for them grew as the years went by, maybe a bit too much. He was obsessed.
He had always wanted to be one, to escape the life he hated so much. He never felt free. He felt like a dog chained by a system established to control society.
Every topic of the world felt like a conspiracy, something with a hidden agenda at every turn.
Ricario was smart, too smart for his own good. He would overthink every single thing within his environment to the point of insanity, and yet, he still felt like a failure in his studies.
He never got to live that long. Heartbreak after heartbreak until the age of 16, when he died. There was no Truck-kun, no saving of someone's life. He just fell asleep one night, and that was it.
Then, there was light, all around him. It was like he was transported to the hyperbolic time chamber. He wasn't sure what was going on, he didn't even feel like having some form of reaction, not like he even had a body to do so. His current existence was centred around vision.
After a period of time unknown to him, he heard a voice, something not heard with ears but he felt it within the depths of his soul, calling out to him.
"Ricario," it said, "you are being given a wonderful opportunity. As you would already know from the fanfictions within your world, my name is ROB."
Ricario stayed silent, he had always wanted to escape his life, but he wasn't sure what this so called opportunity was.
"You died, obviously." the being continued, "By all things deemed 'normal', your journey should have ended, and luckily or unluckily, you caught my eye. I have not given someone the chance to be reborn as an animal from your reality before. As such, you are being given the privilege to meet me."
An animal? The thought was overwhelmingly tempting to Ricario, no wonder he was selected.
"Indeed." Rob would say before continuing, "Whether you decided to be a lion or not if I actually gave you a choice, you will be a sort of documentary for me. I am giving you the chance to choose an advantage to have over other lions. Be warned, however, that depending on what you choose, there will be relative consequences. I will lessen said consequences since you are the first from your reality."
