At sunset, the girl woke up. There were no maids, or light, that disturbed her. No, it was something more strange. She felt like she was being observed by someone, a sort of feeling that made her body tremble in fear, an air that told her to run. She still didn't think of what could it be before falling asleep again, more like being knocked out without noticing. She shouldn't been able to sense it.
"«My Lady, it's time to wake up» Lina said, gently opening the green curtains making the room light up. Again. It gives me an ich, how everything is exactly the same. Every. Single. Day. No one else except me seem to care about it, and it drives me crazy. Not too long after, Maila and Jealmia entered the room to help me dress. But when I looked at them, something felt different. They were worried and extremely anxious. What could ever happen in a far away place like this? I didn't speak or ask questions. Whatever it may be, I was sure that meddle in other people's business was only to give them more pressure. I'd just observe. No one could win me at understanding things just by seeing.
They bathed me with more rose petals, combed her hair with unusual attention and chose the most intact and colourful dress I had. Their eyes were scanning for something out of place, like I had to be perfect.
«Miss, please, turn around another time. We have to be sure the dress is spotless» Were they going to sell me? I mean, no one would even notice if I disappeared except the people who served me. If so, who even offered the highest bid? Over someone like me? I don't know if I'd like it, I would have prefered something more...romantic to escape from here."
She was at the breakfast table, writing with one hand and eating with the other. She could hear people running in the hallways and giving orders like "move that vase to the left!" or "there is dust under there!". Everything was turning even weirder. When she got her eyes back at the book, she froze.
"If they are really going to sold you, would you be okay with that?"
She didn't write that. It wasn't her handwriting. It wasn't even her own pen, the stroke itself was thicker and clumsier. She looked around. No one else had the time to get near enough to write that, especially without getting caught. Should she ask help? Lina would surely believe her. But...Lina was whispering to others maids since she woke up, sometimes she got frustrated and talk loud enough for Aileen to hear. «No, no, I told you. You can't be like this today!» She didn't have the time to deal with the girl. After thinking about it, Aileen closed the book and left quietly the room.
This time, there was no one to escort her out of the house. The knights' armours were shining by how clean they were, but everything around her was strangely immaculate. Did they clean all the villa in one night? And why? "let's just not think too much about it" Aileen though. She had something to do. Even without following the path she took the day before, she arrived at the lake. The forest knew she wanted to be there, and so it made her arrive right there. The girl sat on one of the rocks, and opened the book on her legs. She looked around, searching if there was someone.
The first thing she thought was throwing the book in the water and forget about all this matter. Then came the second thought : that was the first interesting thing that happened in her entire life. She didn't find suspicious that she found a magical book in a magical and mysterious forest. Maybe destiny had something for her. She took out her pen.
"Who are you?" She wrote with her trembling hand.
"Wrong question" She looked at the book with disbelief. She wasn't crazy and it really answered.
"You should ask whose am I"
Well, she didn't think about the original owner of the book. How could she be that dumb? Oh no, was she know a thief?
"I found this book by luck, and didn't think about it's owner. I hope you can forgive me for my rudeness" She hold her breath.
"Oh don't worry about that, I should thank you for freeing me from that dumb, puff guts, bastard, shitty face, moron and asshole of my creator."
She...wasn't expecting that for sure.
"..."
"I'd like giving you more details, but if I were you, I'd go straight home for today. Something is about to happen and without you it would become a disaster."
"What do you mean?"
"Go back and find out for yourself. Be careful not to stain your dress"
Why was everyone obsessed with her dress today? It's a piece of cloth. Fighting her curiosity, she closed the book. She already knew that something was going on. She didn't know how much the book knows but still, what it said was right. As long as she had the book with her, she could go back writing as soon as she get home. So, just like all the other times, she left the forest by simply following her heart for the directions. She didn't even passed the door that she heard someone loudly screaming.
