Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

Senko Muramasa granted Kurosawa Ren three powerful inherent skills and three highly practical active skills.

The first inherent skill, [Fort Construction: A], allows him to create a personal magic workshop—an extremely rare ability typically exclusive to Caster-class servants. Despite not being a formal mage, Senko Muramasa possessed this unique talent.

The second skill, [Sword Aesthetics], was akin to Berserker Lancelot's [Unlimited Blade Works]-style ability. With it, Ren could instantly master any conventional weapon (as long as it wasn't a Noble Phantasm) simply by laying eyes on it.

The third skill, [Modern Misfortune], was a specialized anti-politician and anti-royalty trait, making it incredibly useful in fights involving high-status enemies.

Then there were the three active skills:

[Trial Cut: B+]

[Eye of Karma: A]

[Flame: EX]

The EX-rank [Flame] in particular stood out. It was Ren's first EX-level skill, and he paid close attention to its description:

"All creation, all longing, all karmic detachment—everything converges in this sword."

When activated, the skill elevates his mental state to its peak—completely unshaken by fear, confusion, or negative emotions. Combined with [Eye of Karma], which sees through causal flaws, and [Trial Cut], which can slice across dimensions, Ren could now pierce reality itself in battle.

"No wonder Muramasa, despite being based on Shirou Emiya's body, outshines almost every other Emiya combined," Ren muttered, impressed.

His strengthened physical vessel, fused with Senko Muramasa's Spirit Origin, caused the Red Dragon Heart in his chest to resonate and power up again.

It was easily the best draw from his ten-pull.

Feeling satisfied, Ren turned his attention to the rest of the rewards.

Both the Red-Black Key and Blue-Black Key were now maxed out—fully "broken" in gacha terms.

This meant he had completely mastered the spiritual transformation and anti-demon rune systems. As a result, his [Baptismal Chant] skill had been upgraded from E rank to C rank.

Now, he could unleash demon-purging light without needing a full chant—ideal for fast-paced combat.

Then came the card he'd been hoping for: [God-Forged Weapon]. With it, he could craft his own divine-tier weapon. Exactly what he needed.

Next up: [Soft Kindness]—a conceptual gift with rapid regeneration abilities. In short, it could quickly heal his wounds in battle.

Then, well… there was [Extra Spicy Mapo Tofu].

According to its in-game lore, this was a terrifyingly spicy dish. So spicy, in fact, that it could shock a person's life force into overdrive, inducing a survival instinct so powerful it temporarily boosted all stats.

"To survive or to be burned alive… that's the question," Ren muttered.

He squinted at the card suspiciously. "This thing… isn't actually lethal, right?"

Though skeptical, Ren accepted it for now.

"After breaking through [Assimilation], not only did my magic and curse power double again," Ren noted, "but I also unlocked a new energy channel—spiritual power!"

A faint cyan glow danced on his fingertips.

Spiritual power felt similar to curse energy but more refined, with much greater flexibility. He suspected this might stem from his latent Onmyoji potential—like their command over Shikigami in battle.

In contrast, curse power was more brute-force. It directly enhanced his body and dealt overwhelming damage to cursed entities.

With the gacha draws completed, Ren leaned back in his chair and stretched, eyes heavy.

He wasn't exactly sleepy—just bored of the lecture.

Eventually, he dozed off at his desk.

By the time he woke up, it was nearly noon.

Kasumigaoka Shiyu, descending from the upper floor, gently shook him awake.

It was Friday.

No after-school events. No club duties. No girls to tutor today.

As students began heading to the cafeteria for lunch, Shiyu seized the quiet moment. She leaned in close and playfully brushed her soft, dark hair against Ren's chest.

"I brought those two nurse uniforms you said you wanted to see." Her gentle voice tickled his ear.

Ren's drowsiness evaporated in an instant.

Locking eyes with her burgundy gaze, he murmured, "I want to see them. Now."

Shiyu giggled. Her voice held a dangerous sweetness.

"No one uses the equipment shed during lunch break."

"Come with me."

With an invitation like that, how could Ren refuse?

They hurried to the sports equipment storage room.

Projection: Begin.

Ren silently activated his skill. No need to borrow a key.

He manifested a perfectly fitting key and slid it into the lock.

Click. The door opened.

The school's storage room was massive—filled with sports gear—but the centerpiece was a large trampoline mat in the middle.

Ren raised an eyebrow. This was the kind of "artifact" he'd only seen in certain kinds of anime…

Taking Shiyu's delicate hand, he led her onto the mat.

She smiled mischievously and pulled out two outfits from her bag: one light pink and one pure white.

Who would've guessed that the quiet, elegant top student's schoolbag was filled with cosplay outfits instead of textbooks?

Gathering her hair with one hand, she revealed her slender neck. Slowly, she began unbuttoning her shirt. The fabric slid off her shoulders, revealing flawless pale skin.

Then—

In the stillness of the empty warehouse, during a lazy Friday afternoon, a rush of heat overtook the silence.

Post-battle recovery.

Kasumigaoka Shiyu slipped her pantyhose back on and buttoned her white shirt, hands trembling slightly as she fixed her collar.

She looked down shyly, her cheeks flushed pink. She felt like her body had turned into a furnace—too hot, too soft, too exposed.

The warmth on her skin felt like it could evaporate her clothes.

"…Ren, you're like a kid sometimes."

"Huh? What makes you say that?"

He bent to tie his shoes, which had come undone during their… "exercise."

Shiyu crouched beside him, smiling coyly.

"Because only children are that obsessed with milk."

"…You're not calling yourself a cow, are you?"

"Hmph! If I'm the cow, then you're the milker."

She rolled her eyes and wiped away the damp spots on the trampoline with a towel.

Time passed.

Afternoon faded into evening.

At the school gates, the light from the setting sun cast long shadows beneath the cherry trees.

Shiyu, carrying her small schoolbag, said goodbye.

Tomorrow was Saturday, but she had to meet with her editor about book illustrations—no time to spend the weekend with Ren.

He watched her curvy figure disappear around the corner.

Then, turning on his heel, he headed toward the subway.

Shibuya.

Crowded. Fashionable. Fast-paced.

Ren arrived in full school uniform, exuding elegance. Naturally, he turned heads as he walked.

Some stylish Shibuya girls even approached him directly.

But Ren politely declined every offer.

Until—

"REN! I'm here!!"

A bubbly voice rang out behind him.

Kitagawa Umi came sprinting toward him, waving like an overexcited golden retriever.

Her long golden hair, tipped with coral pink, shimmered in the sun. A black choker hugged her fair, slender neck.
