In another distant land, a black portal opened, throwing a woman out of it. She landed on cracked stones.
The sky above was pale red, not from a sunset, but from the blood-colored mist that covered it like a blanket. Wind howled across the broken cliffs as if it never ended, but even that wasn't able to move the blood colored mist. The cliffs were very deep miles down, there was no bottom, only pitch black.
She stood up, trembling from the impact of being tossed. A white mask covered half of her face, as if it had been fused with her skin. She tried to pull it off, but it didn't even budge a little.
Suddenly, a voice in her head startled her.
[Bearer No. 4 recognized.
Granting abilities…..]
[Ability: Echo Step]
[Ability: Wind Breaker]
"What the hell is happening…?" She muttered to herself.
Suddenly, the cliff she stood on started to rumble, cracks started to open around her. With a burst of sound followed. A massive insect, which is bigger than a tank, its eyes glowing green, rose from beneath the edge, climbing up the rock like it weighed nothing. She turned, and saw it hiss, she froze.
After seeing the snake she was terrified and jumped. She didn't even think of a second before jumping down.
Her body blurred. She could feel it, the ability Echo Step. It's like an afterimage, she slipped forward mid air, stepping on the air once , twice and then landed roughly on another ledge. Her knees were injured because of the after effects of the ability, as they put too much pressure on legs.
The insect followed, leaping from wall to wall, crushing stone behind it.
She turned, raised her hand and shouted. Wind surged from her plan, the ability Wind Breaker was activated. A burst of wind like a blade struck the monster mid air. It crashed backward, tumbling down into the darkness.
She didn't rush to celebrate it. She looked around with caution to see if any other creatures were nearby. Seeing none, she ran from the place, before the snake woke up. From ledge to ledge, skipping with Echo Steps, wind pushing many of the enemies which are targeting her off balance.
After travelling for sometime, she landed on a ledge to rest. She stayed all night on it. She found a hole in the cliff wall nearby ledge, tied to rocks with strands of her torn clothing. Every hour, she was woken by the vibration of another thing trying to climb to her.
By morning, her voice was hoarse. She hadn't slept much last night. The morning air was full of dust which blocked the view.
But still she didn't stop and started to move again, but with much slower speed. The after effects of using the power have accumulated so much that the blood started to run from her nose, and her legs are shaking.
But she continued to move, by the mid day, the sky suddenly darkened. Something enormous moved above the clouds. She looked up, and saw a shape, but it was not an insect but even a creature.
It was massive and endless. Her eyes couldn't even see the end. It was like a blanket of darkness across the sky.
When she was too focused on looking up, her mask buzzed.
[Warning: Internal damage accumulated too much.
Bearers vitals collapsing]
She started coughing the blood, falling from the sky. Her powers stopped working. She didn't scream, she just looked up at the red sky and asked.
"Why me?"
And vanished into the darkness
[Bearer No.4 eliminated
Time survived: 1.9 days]
[Cause of death: blood loss, caused by internal damage]
[Result: failure.]
