Chapter 62 - Embers of Resolve: A Confluence of Fates (Part 3)

In a minute, the food comes not too long after we order and their services are top notch despite having so many customers. Lunch was a treat for the senses, each dish a tantalizing fusion of flavors that was met with delighted exclamations and satisfied sighs.

I feel happy to see them enjoy their food and as I taste my meals, it is really surprisingly good. It was delicious and scrumptious.

We all had our lunch and finished it to continue with our next destination. I already told them at the restaurant that I had some business at the clothing shop without telling them my purpose.

After having our lunch, we moved to our next location by carriage again.

It took several minutes by riding a carriage and we finally reached the "Starweave Atelier," a magical tapestry of threads and textures, where artisans in this fantasy world craft garments woven with stardust, moonlight, and the essence of dreams.

I asked the employee to measure our sizes and prepare all the clothes for us.

I was very satisfied when I tried to look around their product as it was all made with high quality products.

However, as the worker saw my hand touch the clothes, she immediately slapped my hand and ordered us to leave. "How dare such a commoner touch our product. Are you willing to pay if you stench it?" The worker looked pissed off.

"Maybe we should go, Oruvan" Mara pulled my sleeve.

They all were afraid but I insisted on staying because I demanded to face the manager.

Suddenly, a Loomstrider comes to attend to me and claims she is the manager of the clothes shop.

The Loomstrider are ethereal beings resembling elegant humanoid figures, with long, slender limbs and a graceful presence. Their hands are adorned with delicate, shimmering webs that extend from their fingertips, resembling threads of spun silver. Loomstriders possess the innate ability to manipulate these spectral threads, seamlessly weaving fabrics with a touch of magic. Guided by an intrinsic connection to the art of weaving, Loomstriders take pride in their craftsmanship. They move through the cloth shop with a mesmerizing fluidity, effortlessly creating intricate patterns, embroideries, and enchantments within the fabrics. Their presence infuses the textiles with a touch of otherworldly charm, making each creation a work of art imbued with magical properties. The Loomstriders are known to bring life to the cloth shop, their movements resembling a dance as they weave and embellish fabrics. Their keen senses allow them to perceive the perfect alignment of colors, textures, and designs, resulting in garments that evoke a sense of wonder and elegance. Customers who enter the shop are often captivated by the Loomstriders' craftsmanship and the enchanted aura they bring to the textiles.

Her initial cynicism was palpable, emanating from her as if it were a tangible barrier. She was a cynical person but as I gave her one Stelladam, the shimmering coin seemed to dissolve the skepticism within her, leaving a more welcoming demeanor in its wake.

The transformation was subtle, yet undeniable, as her perception of us shifted from outsiders to potential patrons. However, her cynicism lingered in her voice as she forewarned us of the impending price shock that would accompany our purchases.

Her words were a reminder that our reality was still entwined with the limitations of currency. The beauty and craftsmanship that the Starweave Atelier offered came at a cost that couldn't be overlooked.

As I watched my newfound friends explore the array of choices, my determination to provide them with a fresh start only solidified. The variety of clothing types catered to their different needs and activities, ensuring that they were equipped for every occasion.

I get them different types of clothes with 3 pairs for each type of clothes for them. I asked them to choose their preferred one that they want only.

The scene was one of deliberation, as they carefully considered their preferences. The colors, fabrics, and styles represented more than just clothing – they were symbols of a new beginning. One by one, they made their selections, their faces reflecting both excitement and gratitude. It was a powerful reminder that our actions, no matter how small, could have a profound impact on the lives of others.

For now, I only get them something that can be used for their daily routine which they can wear comfortably with new clothes. Maybe five types of clothes would be enough.

…

Sleepwear: Comfortable pajamas or nightgowns designed for a good night's rest. Loungewear: Casual and relaxed clothing perfect for spending a leisurely morning or evening at home. Activewear: Outfits suitable for workouts or physical activities, featuring breathable fabrics and flexibility. Casual Daywear: Everyday clothing for running errands, going to work or school, or meeting friends. Formal Attire: More polished clothing suitable for professional meetings, interviews, or formal events. This one is really important because living in the capital, it is much more preferred to wear this kind of clothes to go out.

…

With their choices made, the final tally seemed daunting, even as I was prepared for the cost. There are six of us with 15 pairs plus extra one cloth for Byron, who has accompanied us for today. I wanted to give it as a gift for him. That means it would cost around 500 Stelladam. The cashier's visible disbelief spoke volumes, her expression a mixture of astonishment and doubt. However, my well-prepared response left her speechless as I presented a bag brimming with Stelladam coins.

Thanks to my creation magic, I already prepared in advance when I was in the changing room to prepare the money to pay.

The transaction itself was a testament to the bonds we had formed – a mutual respect that transcended socioeconomic barriers.

The workers started to recognize me as their special customer to treat with nice care as I'm the first purchaser that spent the highest amount of sales in this store. As we exited the establishment, their bows carried a weight of appreciation, a tribute to the transformation that had unfolded within their walls.

…

In the carriage, I passed Byron a gift that I prepared for him that took him by surprise. I convinced him to accept it as I already paid for it. He understands me and accepts with an open arm. "Here is a gift for you. As a gratitude for accompanying us" I said to him while handing him a box of gifts.

I don't know what to give him, so I decided to give him a pair of butler clothes with a color that he likes, black.

When we were heading to my new house, we passed by the watch store and I decided to have a stop there to buy a watch that I could give to Jake as a gift.

Earlier, I have been thinking of giving others a gift too. I was thinking about Arnold, Ellis, Levis, Asvin, Mom, Dad, and… Loria! I was reminded of some business with her.

"Gosh! I totally forgot to pay her visit yesterday. We were supposed to practice swords together!" I monologue to myself. Last night's event made me forget about our appointment.

I already gave up and decided to accept my faith and tell Loria the truth when I see her again. I hope she will understand my circumstances.

My plan to give everyone gifts was put in hold because I have so many things to do today. I should settle in my house first because I need to stay there today.

Arriving at our destination, I gazed at the mansion before us, a mixture of awe and confusion filled my mind. The structure was grand and imposing, a far cry from the modest abode I had envisioned. My initial request for a small and simple house had clearly taken an unexpected turn. The building's size seemed disproportionate to our small family of four, leaving me with a sense of unease. The reactions of my friends only heightened my internal conflict.

"Wow! It's so big!" Elijah's exclamation of wonder echoed my own thoughts, while Mara and her friends seemed equally taken aback. Their words of appreciation and astonishment filled the air, contrasting with my own feelings of uncertainty. The house was undoubtedly beautiful, yet it felt like an extravagant gift that I hadn't asked for. It was a display of generosity that bordered on excess, leaving me feeling both grateful and uncomfortable to owe him more.

"So, this is your new house?" Mara asked for confirmation.

"It's pretty big!" Elias joined.

"That's nice for you to have this big house." Jasper added.

"It's so beautiful." Ava was also astonished by the beauty.

They all were standing while taking a moment to view the house from the outside of the gate.

I sighed in disappointment. "But this is too big! We only have 4 members in our family. This is not what he promised." As I sighed, my frustration became audible. The promise of a smaller house had been upended by the reality before me. The unexpected size of the mansion left me grappling with my emotions, torn between appreciating Jake's kindness and grappling with the mismatched expectations. It was clear that my friends were unaware of the original plan, and I didn't want to undermine their genuine excitement.

I look at Byron who does not know anything as this all was handled by Jake alone.
