Chapter 46 - Citadel of Dreams: Within the Enchanted Halls of the Royal Capital (Part 5)

After Elijah and I had filled our stomach, we decided to play around and try everything in the area. There is so much to do in this place and I think we cannot even try all of it in just one day. Elijah and I only get to play some of the features in the magical playground.

There are a lot kind of entertainment such as:

Levitating Swings: Swings that use levitation magic to gently lift children into the air, allowing them to swing among the treetops or even touch the clouds. Floating Bubbles: Giant, translucent bubbles filled with colorful, shimmering mist that children can bounce on or climb inside. Spectral Slide: A slide that appears as a rainbow-colored tunnel when seen from one angle, but as children slide down, they experience a journey through different fantastical landscapes. Whimsical Carousel: A carousel with intricately carved wooden animals that come to life as children ride them, each one taking them on a magical adventure. Enchanted Maze: A living maze of tall hedges that shifts and changes paths, creating an ever-evolving challenge for children to navigate. Fairy Fountain: A central fountain that sprays sparkling water in different shapes and patterns, forming playful archways for children to run through. Giant Chessboard: A life-sized chessboard where children become the pieces, moving according to the rules of a magical game. Shape-Shifting Play Sand: Sand that can change shapes and textures based on a child's imagination, allowing them to sculpt magical creatures and landscapes. Whispering Trees: Trees with enchanted leaves that softly whisper secrets and riddles to children who sit under their branches. Glowing Hopscotch: A hopscotch grid that illuminates with vibrant colors at each step, making it look like children are hopping on beams of light. Elemental Water Playground: Pools of water that can transform into different states, from solid ice to mist, allowing children to play with different forms of water. Potion Brewing Station: A play area where children can mix colorful liquids and create harmless "potions" that bubble, change colors, or emit pleasant scents. Imaginary Beast Rides: Play structures designed like fantastical creatures (dragons, unicorns, griffins) that children can ride and interact with. Invisible Bridge: A magical bridge that becomes visible only when children step onto it, creating an exciting challenge as they navigate its invisible path. Whirling Whimsy Wheel: A spinning wheel that lets children imagine themselves as powerful wizards, each turn granting them a different magical ability.

I was so happy that my brother could enjoy the excitement at this place. For me, I feel bad that he could not enjoy it as much as a normal kid would have with their parents.

Elijah waa not giving his attention to me. His eyes were not on me.

I noticed that he would stare at the kids spending time with their parents. He must have been wondering about our parents.

I tried to get his attention and decided to buy him a magical ice cream. As we are already tired of playing, maybe we should take a stroll around the town.

While wandering around, I tried to have a conversation with him.

"How are you feeling today?" I asked Elijah while looking at his genuinely happy face.

"I'm so happy. Thank you big bro." Elijah sincerely thanked me and gave me a hug.

"Do you want to go home already or you want to go with me? I have something to do." I asked him permission to go somewhere else.

"But I want to be with you." He looks at me in the eyes with his puppy look because he is not used to being apart from me.

"Well, that's good. Let me tell you something." I whispered to him about my plan to gather information about finding our parents.

"Do you understand?" I asked him.

He nodded to me.

I sighed and took a moment to catch up on my breath. It is pretty tiring to walk around the Capital.

Elijah must have been tired but I still need to find information about my parents. This is going to take a while.

I stared at Elijah that was minding his business. Maybe I should leave him somewhere. I don't want to tire him out. As I was trying to find someplace, I saw a kindergarten just across the street.

I brought Elijah there and asked the teacher to take a look for my brother.

"Please, just for an hour." I tried to negotiate with the housekeeper.

"But you need proper writing for this." The teacher explains the formality before sending children to the nursery.

"I'm not sending him here. I just have something quick to do." I take a look in my pocket and give her one verdejade coin.

"Take this. If you take care of him for me, I will give you another coin." I offered her money. She looked hesitant but accepted my request reluctantly.

"Fine. Just this once. You better come back quickly." The teacher looked contemplated because worried if someone caught her.

Before I go, I want to talk with Elijah.

"Brother, where are you going?" He asked with a sad voice.

"I already told you, I want to find our parents." I explained to him.

"Can't I go with you?" He asked to accompany me.

"It's too far. I promise you, I will be quick." I assured him.

Elijah sighed. "Fine. Promise me you will come back as soon as possible."

"I promise. Don't worry about me. Here, you can play out with other kids." I give him a pinky promise.

"Alright. Just go already." I'm glad that he understands me but he still looks reluctant.

"Remember, be nice. I will come back soon" I left him and looked at him standing there while looking at me to go away. At least, he will be fine there.
