Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: King's Power Depends Entirely on the Enemy's Imagination

"Plant a picture, harvest thousands of imaginative scenes."

"Good news: I didn't completely die after being hit by a massive stroke; instead, I transmigrated."

"Bad news: I transmigrated into the world of One Punch Man and became King, who has no combat power!"

In the One Punch Man world, M City, Central Park:

"Monster alert! Monster alert!"

A piercing alarm blared from the broadcast.

"According to the latest news, a monster has appeared near Central Park in M City. Residents nearby are urged to proceed to the nearest shelter immediately. The Hero Association has already dispatched heroes to handle it..."

Hearing the alarm, the crowd in the park fled in panic.

Among the crowd was a man wearing a black baseball cap, his face completely obscured. He hurried along with the flow of people.

"Damn it, King's monster-attracting physique truly lives up to its reputation! I only went out for half a day and already encountered a monster attack!"

David King clenched his hands, his steps unconsciously quickening.

In fact, David was not from this world. He was from 21st-century Earth, an ordinary, well-behaved young man.

Speaking of which, he was utterly unlucky. He was just playing video games at home when he was hit by a massive stroke!

When he regained consciousness, he found himself in an unfamiliar apartment.

He looked in the mirror and saw the iconic three scars on his face, instantly realizing he had transmigrated into King.

At that moment, he felt like the sky was falling.

The world of One Punch Man was too dangerous, with Demon-Level monsters and Dragon-level monsters appearing out of nowhere to destroy cities.

And King, whom he had become, had a resounding reputation but no matching combat power.

David thought long and hard and concluded that the only way to survive well in this world was to cling to someone powerful.

He planned to search for the bald man in the yellow bodysuit and cape—Saitama.

As long as he held onto this powerful figure, even if a god descended, he wouldn't die.

However, according to the current timeline, Saitama had not yet joined the Hero Association, and he and David did not know each other.

David only knew that Saitama lived in Z City, but he didn't know the specific address.

He didn't dare to casually wander around Z City, after all, the Monster Association's headquarters was located underground in Z City.

If he accidentally ran into a monster, he would be finished.

So, David planned to visit various discount supermarkets in M City, hoping to coincidentally meet Saitama, who might be there to buy discounted goods.

But he never expected that he would just get tired and rest in a nearby park, only to encounter a monster attack.

"Hehehe, you can't escape!"

A monster that looked like a beverage Vending Machine Monster blocked the park's main entrance.

"I am the Vending Machine Monster. It's all your fault for not buying my drinks, which prevented me from completing my KPI this month. Therefore, I will kill all of you and turn you all into drinks in my belly! Hehehe..."

The Vending Machine Monster let out a piercing laugh, and several mechanical tentacles suddenly extended from its dispensing slot, striking the panicked crowd like venomous snakes.

"Help!"

"No! Let me go!"

Several passersby were tightly entangled by the tentacles, letting out heart-wrenching cries.

Their bodies were rapidly dragged towards the monster's abdominal dispensing slot.

There, a dark, gaping "mouth" was open, vaguely revealing rotating blades and bubbling, eerie liquid inside.

Cold sweat seeped from David's forehead, and his palms were icy.

He knew his own limitations. Although this body's physical qualities far surpassed ordinary people (being able to withstand the "Emperor Engine" itself was proof).

But facing this steel monster, saving people? It was simply a pipe dream!

"It's more important to save my own life!"

This thought was incredibly clear. He immediately crouched down, preparing to use the chaos of the crowd and the park's facilities as cover to escape.

Just then, a boy in a school uniform suddenly rushed out from behind the Vending Machine Monster. The monster spun around abruptly, its tentacles sweeping across.

The boy nimbly rolled to dodge but accidentally bumped into David, knocking off his baseball cap.

"Ah! I-I'm sorry!" The boy looked up, his eyes suddenly widening, "Wait, are you... Mr. King?!"

This startled exclamation was like a stone thrown into calm water.

The surrounding fleeing crowd all stopped, dozens of pairs of eyes simultaneously looking at David.

"It's really King!"

"The strongest man on Earth!"

"Great! We're saved!"

Cheers erupted one after another, and a fanatical female fan even shrieked: "Lord King! I want to bear your children!"

David's mouth twitched.

At this moment, he only wanted to find a hole to crawl into, or stuff that talkative boy into the Vending Machine Monster.

David secretly cried out, "Not good!" He was completely exposed now!

He looked up at the Vending Machine Monster, only to see the expression on its mechanical display change from ferocious to terrified.

"The... the strongest man on Earth, King?!"

The Vending Machine Monster's mechanical voice began to tremble, and its extended tentacles froze in mid-air, "Impossible! How can you be here!"

David felt his heart begin to pound uncontrollably, the familiar roar of the "Emperor Engine" echoing in his chest.

The surrounding air seemed to vibrate because of this deep, powerful heartbeat.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

The Vending Machine Monster retreated two steps in terror, all its mechanical tentacles retracting: "Don't... don't come any closer! I warn you!"

David suddenly had a flash of inspiration.

Since everyone thought he was the strongest King, then why not...

He slowly raised his right hand, adopting a punching stance, his eyes becoming sharp.

Although he was incredibly panicked inside, he maintained a profound and inscrutable expression on the surface.

"Is Lord King preparing to use his signature move, 'Inferno Unrivaled Blazing Wave Cannon'?"

"Rumor has it that once this move is unleashed, anything in its path will be annihilated; no monster can resist it!"

"Lord King, please destroy that disgusting monster!"

The passersby, seeing that they were fortunate enough to witness King unleash his signature move, shouted enthusiastically.

David, meanwhile, was frantically complaining in his mind, "Who on earth came up with such a shameful, chuunibyou-sounding move name?"

But he also knew that he absolutely could not lose his nerve now. He had to use this momentum to scare away the Vending Machine Monster so everyone could survive.

"Wait!"

The Vending Machine Monster, seeing the passersby shouting so fiercely, immediately yelled: "Lord King! I surrender! I'm leaving right now! Please don't use your ultimate technique!"

With that, the Vending Machine Monster actually turned and ran, its two mechanical legs moving incredibly fast, and it kept shouting as it ran: "Help! King is going to kill monsters!"

David: "..."

This actually worked?

The surrounding crowd erupted in enthusiastic cheers.

"King is so cool! He scared off the monster without even lifting a finger!"

"Is this the deterrent power of the strongest on Earth?"

"Mr. King, look at me, look at me!"

David quickly picked up his baseball cap and put it back on, then swiftly left the scene.

He had to leave here as soon as possible, lest the Vending Machine Monster realize its mistake and come back for a surprise attack.

Just as he turned a corner, a "ding" sound echoed in his mind.
