Chapter 3: Campsite
"What are you two talking about? I don't understand any of this."
"Easy. This could just be a 'bug'," Cypher and Mix said, almost in unison.
Mix glanced up at the sky before speaking.
"Anyway, let's head back to the 'base' for now."
Cypher nodded. Void was still lost, questions racing through his mind.
Who am I? Who are these people? What is this world?
He could only wonder. For now, he had no choice but to play along.
"Let's go."
But before they could leave, a voice echoed from the shadows.
"In such a hurry~" A group of burly men stepped out from behind a wall. There were three of them.
The first carried a baseball bat.
The second wore brass knuckles.
The third, just a pair of gloves.
"We've had our eyes on you for a while," one of them sneered.
"We've run the numbers. You're worthless."
"Just wasting space in this world."
"What the hell is your problem? You looking for a fight?!" Cypher snapped.
"Calm down, Cypher, darling~" Mix purred, pulling up her command window.
"They're just a bunch of scrub hackers." Then, she keyed in some strange code.

"What did you just say?!" the three of them yelled in unison, lunging straight for Mix.
The moment Mix finished the code, a fireball materialized in her right hand. She hurled it into the middle of the three men.
BOOM!!!
Aaaargh! Their screams ripped through the air.
"What the hell… Are you Coders?!"
They scrambled to their feet, hastily brushing off dust and smoke before fleeing with their tails between their legs.
"You'll pay for this next time!!" one of them shouted back.
Mix just smirked, giving them a little wave goodbye.
"That was incredible," Cypher said, impressed.
"Just the basics."
Void was still in shock. She can summon fire? And make it explode?
"How… how did you do that?"
"I'll explain later," Mix replied with a wink.
"Let's hurry back to the base."
The three of them took off at a run.
After a while, it seemed Void, Mix, and Cypher had reached their destination.
It was a large camp, surrounded by four towering buildings. The center was a sprawling collection of tents and makeshift shelters.
