It has been three days since subaru began making a dress for felt and with some trial and error he finally made a dress,though he had experience in making some,he was un-accustomed to doing it for some one of felt's stature.
I'd be a dead man where i stand if felt heard what i was thinking.
And with that final thought,he had sewed the last thread.
Letting the white-skin coloured dress fall on top of the bed,subaru fell backwards with a long sigh.
I wonder what felt's doing?
Inthe past three days and the two days before that,which would add upto five days,subaru had been bonding with felt and rom every day,it won't be too far off to say that he thought of felt as a little sister and old man rom as an uncle or grandpa.
But what do they think of me? Do they even want me with them? I mean i have been with them for only five days,that's just about a week whole,only a week,less than a week ,i bonded with them very quickly but that's probably because i didn't have any siblings,friends and i don't even know who my grandparents are!
Subaru's doubts raged on inside him,any proof of them even wanting him near would be the fact that felt always called him in a familial way and old man rom always talked to him,infact both felt and rom talking to him every day without spitting at his face to get out of their nose is the most concrete proof of them tolerating him.
Normally all of these facts would quench any ones worries but for subaru...
ha!,i'm still a depressed mess even here huh?
With a timid smile he looked on up at the cloth ceiling of their tent,today,since he was almost done with making the dress,he told felt to go on without him to the loot house.
He had mostly been working only when felt is gone.he wanted to surprise her with her dress and was going to do that today at the loot house.
With a straight face,tired,he looked upwards to his respective,at the entrance for their tent.
Seriously though...
He wondered honestly if he would even be able to make a dress that would impress either of them,both the giant and child duo of felt and rom and the noble Ninita.
Alas,he didn't have the time to mop around with doubts so he stood up and packed the dress by folding it in a neat manner and putting it in a bag.
He first needed to show it to felt and old man rom first,after getting their opinion he would re make the whole thing,after all he had four more days in his hands,considering the fact that he made the dress he had right now in three days,it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that he would be able to make another in the given four days.
As he walked out the tent,the light from the gleaming sun breached his eyes,illuminating the world for his vision.
With a bag that occupies a dress hand-made by him,he walked forward in an uneasy manner,trudging,he covered the distance between the loot housed and him in a slow manner.
With a couple of 'hello's and 'good morning's along the way he finally reached the loot house and knocked on the door while saying.
Subaru:"hey old man rom! Open up it's subaru!"
Another voice,of the mentioned rom, responded from the other side of the door saying.
Rom:"what's the password then?,for an army of mouses?"
Subaru:"oh come on!"

Felt:"bro...i thought you were just saying things or something but.....this is just way beyond my expectations."
Felt,to show case the the dress given to her,stood ontop of the table although that was supposed to be the plan. Apparently the dress was good enough to stun felt who stood still after merely just walking out of the room she changed in before stepping onto the table.
She adorned a jasmine white dress,the silky dress flowed unil it was just above her ankles,moving in a swift manner to felt's own motion,the dress covered a small part of her arm,starting from her shoulders with multiple layers of silk that were more transparent than the whole dress if alone,on her right it was white jasmine and on her left it was cherry red.
Small,almost insignificant dots of red were littered every where on the dress,still carrying an organised pattern they were capable of imprinting a grand change onto the whole dress and a folded line of cherry red covered an arc from her left shoulder to the right end of her dress at the bottom that circled back around the whole rim of the dress.
Rom:"got to hand it ta ya kid,this one's a fine work of art."
Felt:"seriously bro!,how did you even make this in three days!?"
Both felt and old man rom praised subaru in such manner,while felt showed her excitement clearly on her face and body language,old man rom showed his approval by smiling with wide eyes.
Hearing the praise that were being thrown onto him,subaru with a blush encroaching his face rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
Felt:"seriously bro were you awake all night sewing?"
Understanding what felt meant,old man rom stared at subaru's face and said.
Rom:"yeah kid,that'd explain those eye-bags ya have."
As old man rom said,under neath subaru's senpaku eye,were spots of black that some how weakened and strengthened the fearsome factor of his eyes.
As of now,when his smiling,his closed eyes show tiredness but emanate the feeling of mature warmth,despite the boy being as mature as a boy would.
And a hypothetical face that subaru could make,a glare afixed one,then it would surely make any adult cower in fear.
Felt:"really!?,ye'r a real hard worker aren't ya,at this rate that noble would be all over you making deals and you'd be out of this hell hole of a place in no time!."
Felt said excitedly,to which subaru only gave a confused look with a raised eyebrow.
Subaru:"what do you mean felt?,that i'd be out of this hell hole."
After saying so,he once again smiled at her while folding his arms.
with his teeth showing,he brightened his smile and said.
Subaru:"i know it has only been five days and all,but i already bonded with you guys enough—"
And unfolding his arms he pointed towards both felt and old man rom with both his index fingers.
Subaru:"—to say that i think felt as a little sister and old man rom as an uncle or granpa.And because i do...i will bring both of you out this hell hole with me!."
And such exclamation was claimed,as both felt and rom stare at him subaru again fold his arms and nods his head triumphantly.
Before realising that he had told them about his inner feelings involuntarily and with shock covers his mouth.
Wait i wasn't supposed to say that! Damn it what i wanted to say was just 'nah,you guys helped me out so i'll help you out with coming out of the slums with me' not an entire speech about how i think about them with added theatrics! Oh god they are so gonna think i'm weird.
Then again maybe they will just laugh it off and call it a nice joke? I know wishful thinking! But still!.
Trying to find a way out of this situation by brainstorming,subaru finally ended up at a good idea,like a lightning bolt coursed through his body.
Yeah! I'll just say that i was joking about the sister and grandpa part so that we could laugh it off or something! Thats it subaru! your a genius!
Opening his mouth he tried to execute his idea but was cut off by felt.
With a huff she turned and folded her arms,with a pink hue colouring her cheeks she started talking.
Felt:"ye-yeah sure,think how you like,but don't expect me to call you big bro alright!"
With a grin subaru responded.
Subaru:"sure,i'll have high expectations for you calling me 'big bro'."
Felt unfolding her arms and leaning forward screamed at him saying 'that's not what i said!' indignantly.
Laughing,subaru proceeded to pet felt to which felt chose violence and bit his hand with out mercy.
Subaru:"ow!"
Not even attempting to hold back,old man rom started laughing at the brother-sister due whereas the due in question were playing tag.subaru telling felt to 'change first!' ,chasing her,and felt saying 'i can see it in your eyes!,you are not telling me to change my dress' whilst running away from subaru,
and subaru responding with 'of coarse you brat!,you bit me!' such words were being thrown back and forth.
And in the meanwhile they ran around the loot house,felt out running subaru,but subaru himself wasn't doing too bad,almost catching her from time time.
After a few minutes they finally calmed down.
Or they stopped the game of tag because subaru fell down from exhaustion whereas felt panted and huffed,sweat falling down from her chin.
Felt:"not bad *huff* bro,maybe *huff* we could do thi—*huuuufff*—this another time?"
Subaru:"yeah *huff* it was fun *huff*,but maybe next time *huff*... YOU WON'T WEAR THE IMMACULATE DRESS THAT i WORKED SO HARD TO MAKE DAY AND NIGHT FOR THREE
DAYS STRAIGHT,HAAH! *crash*
*hhuuuuuuuuuufffff*."
Deep breaths he took.
(AN:i'm gonna come and go like the storm,you can't stop me! Muahahahah!!!)
Felt:"ye-yeah,alright.".
With that felt went into her changing room and changed,came back,and promptly fell down on the floor next subaru.
Old man rom seeing that they have calmed down told subaru to sleep,after all he had yet to get a good amount of sleep that is equivalent to three nights.
Heading old man rom's words,subaru decided to go to sleep by lying down on the ground,right where he lay gasping for air.
It's a good thing that felt liked the dress i made,i seriously didn't want to make another one,hey don't blame me! Even i can't just go a whole week without sleep y'know!.
Still gasping for air thought subaru,beside him felt already snoring,her chest rising and falling in a rhythmic manner.
He turned his head towards her,his eyes tired and thined.
Wow,she sure as hell fell asleep fast,is it because she's still a growing girl?,eh makes sense i guess.
Again he turned his head towards the ceiling.
Thats exactly where i fell from right?
Subaru came into this world with a fall,where he fell from was the ceiling of the loot house he now lays in.
It has been five days since i came to this world,but feels like i've been here for longer.
As such,all thoughts came to an end as he nodded off to sleep.

???:"bro!,wake the hell up! Its almost evening right now!."
As he slept a young voice breached his ears.
Upon being shaken he began to open his eyes,lethargic from the long state of slumber,
his eyes opened slowly with some difficulty.
And upon opening them he was greeted by a sight that made all his body alarms blare chaotically.
Felt:"seriously,wake your ass up!"
Saying so,felt in an attempt to awaken the already awake subaru...lifted her leg high up in the air and was about to deliver an axe kick to his stomach.
And as the axe came down,subaru with terror in his eyes,that shot open upon recognising the danger,quickly rolled to the side and bashed against the table.
atleast he survived that assassination attempt on him.
Heaving from both the shock and pain from hitting the table,subaru,grasping his chest with his right hand,turned his face towards his attacker and glared.
Subaru:"what the hell felt! Were you trying to kill me or something!"
Hearing subaru's words,felt looked at him triumphantly amand said whilst pointing her chin upwards.
Felt:"i was trying to wake you up,and obviously enough! I did a swell job at it!"
Subaru,after gaining control over his haphazard heart beat stood up and in outrage said to felt.
Subaru:"trying to hit me with an axe kick is not how you wake someone up! Seriously i know some anime where their little sister kicks them in the stomach to wake them up,but isn't there supposed to be atleast some difference from real life and anime!?."
As his outrageous speech came to an end,felt,flustered,huffed and turned away at the word 'sister' but smiled and turned towards him and said.
Felt:"i still don't know what this anime is but for sure this is how your beloved sister will wake you up from now on."
And promptly sticked her tongue out at him.
And now subaru was the one flustered and reeled backwards.
hey,hey,hey! I know felt agreed with me back then and all but isn't this too quick to just be brother and sister!.....wait is she teasing me? But she looked genuine about it...wait what did she say?....damn brat!
Subaru:"theres no way in hell your doing that every time! At this rate i might as well sleep with old man rom instead!."
Whilst subaru went on with his words old man rom entered and upon hearing subaru claiming to sleep where he slept,he decided to intervene and said.
Rom:"sorry kid,don't have much space where i sleep,but there is the cold wooden floor for ya."
Hearing this subaru slumped his shoulders whereas felt looked at him with a smug face.
Rom:"it's bout to get late,so eat up and then go home and sleep."
And so all the occupants once again sat around the table with loafs of bread brought by felt.
Subaru:"we seriously need to eat something else then bread."

After eating their fill and playing around,both felt and subaru left for their house.
With all the playing they partaked in they were bound to be tired but it seems the sleep they had in the morning that lasted until the end of afternoon really energised them and sleeping didn't seem like a possibility so instead of going straight home,they decided to play tag again,but instead of just the loot house as the playground they upped the scale to the entirety of the slums.well atleast the path to felt's house anyway.
With subaru having the lamp,he might have been unfairly handicapped as felt,who not only could traverse in the dark expertly but also had a divine protection.
For subaru who couldn't walk in darkness like he was a nocturnal animal and only had some exercise and jogging experience,this set up of him having the lamp that rom lent them have was absolute—
Subaru:"BULLSH—ouch!,damn brat!"
As subaru was about acertain the unfairness of this game of tag with a compound swear,felt jumped on top of a wall and kicked a plank board onto his face,cutting him off from swearing.
(AN:thank god...what? I can't use swears you know!)
And after running through the slums happily.....for felt atleast,they had finally tired down enough to feel sleepy and had also reached their destination.
Felt:"hey theres our house."
Saying so felt pointed towards the house,making sure subaru,who was about to finally catch her,would realise it and get distracted.
And to her enjoyment he did.he turned towards their house and as soon as he did felt escaped out of the would-be grasp of subaru's.
And subaru who realised what felt was trying to do turned his neck back only to see her further away from his grasp than before.
Subaru:"damn it i almost had it!"
Said subaru with a small smile,and hearing his words,felt's smile only grew brighter.
Her bright smile was reminiscent to a bright sun.
When the sun is about to set,the world turns red.
But then there was red.
A deep scarlet red had replaced that bright smile.
To keep that red colour away subaru closed his eyes and opened them again.
After wards there is no sun,sometimes there is no moon either.
Then there was no felt.
Confused,subaru turned around to look for her,but she was not seen anywhere with her smug grin that subaru wanted to see so...Desperately.
Sometimes no stars as guides,and when the sun comes back up....
Why do i feel this way? What is this feeling?
He again turned to where he saw felt disappear.
This is—This is a...sense.....

And then slowly lowered his head downards.
A sense of.....
And then he finally saw her.she was laying down on the ground and was covered in—
.....Dread.

Apool of red saturated her body and had built up below her.
And she was devoid of that bright smile...and her head.
The true picture of what had happened was finally being played back.
As the smiling felt and subaru stared at each other something had shot felt on the head,completely obliterating her head into a sight of red.
Shell-shocked,subaru stood still,his eyes contracted to mere dots,devoid of coherent thought he could not assess what had occured,and when he finally did he noticed the only trail that can be tracked to felt's attacker,a trail of red blood.
And following that trail he ended up peering into the shadow formed by the cascade of night,his lamp being unable to luminate the ever forever expanding darkness.
And he heard a growl.
The growl that resembled a canine broke his trance as he took a step back.
And from the darkness it seeped through.
A snout,with violet like skin and dangerous canines littered in its mouth.
For some unknown reason it bled vertically but soon after it made sure to make the reason known.
The snout of the beast that emerged from the shadows divided.
With more blood falling to the ground stickilly ,it divided quaternarily.
And the tongue inside straightened towards subaru,it was scaly,the extremely hard scales enveloping the tongue completly.
As he stared at the aimed tongue,he witnessed a sight so grotesque he wished he could vomit his stomach contents totally.
The tongue twisted in on itself,the scales digging into itself it twisted so much that it seemed as though it would fall down by self amputation.
But that is not what happened.
The blood in abundance instead of only dripping,thickened and thickened until the pink tongue turned to a scaly drill with a colour that can better be described as the darker shade of that beast's skin tone.
Felt is dead.
As the transformation finished the snout jerked and the drill began to spin in high velocity.
And...i'm also going to die.
Tears began to stream down his face and his thoughts began to be replaced by another thought one so foolish that anyone would call him a mad man for even thinking so.
I...
Perhaps he had indeed become mad.
Will....
And then it shot.
Subaru:"WHY DI—"
And subaru was no more,his final and foolish thought was to—
—definitely save felt
Natsuki subaru had died
