Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Wait a Moment

Chapter 9: Wait a Moment

Pressed firmly on the sole of her foot by Eikou, Morgan let out a gentle and seductive moan.

"Mother-sama, are you okay?"

Noticing Morgan's unusual demeanor, Gawain quickly asked.

Morgan's face was slightly flushed; the other party's sudden action startled her a bit. She didn't understand why Eikou, who had always been passive, suddenly became so assertive.

"It's… it's nothing at all… Gawain, could you go to the counter and get me another cup of coffee?"

Gawain obediently complied, standing up to get coffee for her.

Once Gawain had been sent off, the remaining two in the room fell into silence.

Morgan's ocean-blue eyes glanced at Eikou, who calmly took a sip of fruit juice.

"So, you're gently rejecting me, is that it?" she asked.

"How should I put this——"

Before Eikou could explain clearly, she raised her hand like a queen, signaling him to be quiet.

"Mochizuki Eikou, allow me to say something," Morgan said. "I'm someone with a very strong sense of possession. I absolutely do not allow myself to be rejected. If anyone dares to abandon me, I will cling to them and curse them to death. You'd better think carefully before answering."

That calm voice, like the ocean beneath an iceberg, made it hard to breathe.

To be able to say something like that—no doubt, this Queen Morgan before him truly came from a Lostbelt.

"But still..."

Morgan stirred the coffee in her cup with a spoon, her hand movements slightly rushed.

"Although I see nothing about you worth hesitating over," she said softly, "as your future partner, I'm still willing to sympathize with your situation. Your answer doesn't have to be 'I accept.' It can also be 'Wait a moment.'"

Eikou thought to himself, is this what she calls sympathy? In the end, it's still coercion.

Oh well, for a queen of the Fairy Kingdom—proud, greedy, and full of possessiveness—this was already the greatest concession.

"I see."

Eikou let out a helpless smile.

"My Queen, I don't want to string you along, but thank you for your understanding. Then… 'wait a moment,' please."

"I see..." She nodded as if pondering. "Looks like you still have some 'unsettled matters.' That's fine. Until you make your decision, I'll try to endure."

Why did she use the word 'endure'? It sounded so strange. Eikou thought silently.

"My Queen, don't you feel that this is very unfair to you?"

"Unfair? What's unfair about it?"

Morgan blinked her icy-blue eyes, shimmering with innocent confusion.

Then, as if she understood something, the corners of her lips curled into a smile full of hidden meaning.

"Don't get me wrong, Mochizuki Eikou. I'm not the kind of boring woman who'll just sit and wait obediently. That so-called 'endure' I mentioned only means I'll restrain myself from bothering you, not that I'll give up pursuing you. There's one thing you must remember…"

Her soft body suddenly leaned forward, her slender, pale hand grasping the tie on his uniform, gently pulling him closer.

Her lips, glossed and shimmering, exhaled a sweet and seductive whisper by his ear:

"My attacks from now on will be quite intense, boy-ya~."

"..."

Feeling her breath against his ear, Eikou thought his entire body was about to melt.

When the sound of Gawain's heavy footsteps echoed back, Morgan immediately let go of the tie, and the two of them quickly pulled apart.

Gawain looked at Eikou's flushed face and at Morgan, who seemed delighted, with a suspicious expression, clearly not understanding what had just happened.

"Sir Eikou, why is your face so red? Did you eat a chili or something?"

"To put it simply…" Eikou replied cryptically, "I just had a taste of some very, very adult-flavored specialty coffee."

"Not that I really get it, but it sounds like something to be congratulated for."

"It's definitely worth congratulating," Morgan chimed in.

[The three of you quickly finished dinner.]

[Morgan walked you to the school gate, casually said goodbye, and added that she would investigate more about Edison's factory.]

[That night, you and Gawain soaked in a hot bath at the public bathhouse, washing away the fatigue of a long and busy day. By 10 PM, when the dormitory lights were turned off, you lay tossing and turning on your bed, unable to sleep. As you scrolled through your phone, you came across news related to Sesshouin Kiara.]

[Several students from the school had gone missing, and investigations suggested that Sesshouin Kiara was involved.]

[This made you wonder: could that terrifying woman break through the dormitory's security system and sneak in to get revenge on you?]

[Fortunately, Gawain was sleeping on the lower bunk. If anything really happened, he could at least protect you.]

[You lay awake in unease, thinking about your next moves: you needed to find a way to gather 3000 QP to participate in the exchange meeting, then figure out how to conquer Baobhan Sith. Only after completing all of that might you truly gain the strength to stand against Sesshouin.]

[At 1 AM, you suddenly really had to pee, but Gawain was already fast asleep. You didn't dare cross the dark hallway alone to reach the bathroom, afraid Sesshouin would suddenly leap out from some shadowy corner and cut off your "Tower of Babylon."]

[Just as you were finally starting to feel sleepy and about to drift off, you received a message.]

[It was a selfie from Morgan—in her pajamas.]

"This woman… does she really understand what 'endure' means?"

Sending a photo like that at this hour—how is anyone supposed to sleep after seeing it?! Goddamn it!

[By 2 AM, you really couldn't hold it anymore.]

[At 3:30 AM, you seemed to hear the whispering voice of a woman echoing through the long, dark hallway… Her voice was full of resentment and fury, deep and boundless like the very shadows of the corridor, slipping into your room like a cold breeze.]

[This is the male dormitory—how could there possibly be a woman's voice in the hallway? But you heard it clearly. It was no hallucination. In the dead of night, a woman was wandering around the residential wing, seemingly searching for something…]

[You vaguely sensed that the shadow had stopped right outside your room.]

[Please perform a Luck Check.]

"What kind of situation is this?! Why does this feel like a horror game?! Is that Sesshouin or some ghost? What happens if I fail the luck check?!"

Gawain, save me! There's a ghost woman in the dorm!

[The dice result is D, which is lower than your Luck rank A—check passed.]

[You immediately pulled the blanket over your head and held your breath, pretending to be fast asleep. Luckily, the black shadow didn't detect your presence.]

[You could feel it slowly moving away from your door.]

[You made it through the night safely.]
