Chapter 6: Hollow Choir King
Location: Horrorborn abyss Dungeon, Floor 40 - "The Hall of Resonant Suffering"
A yawning cathedral of broken sound. The air shimmered not from the head, but from resonance. Every step Ashborn took vibrated backward, echoing infinitely as if the walls themselves refused to let motion die quietly. The floor was obsidian glass, cracked with jagged veins of blue-violet light pulsing to the beat of something ancient.
"This place is having an Existential breakdown..." Ashborn muttered, squinting at the cracked cathedral pillars that swayed with no wind. "Or maybe it's me. Either way- ugh, figures I'd fight a failed god of sound when my ears still ring from the last damn explosion."
(AN: not really a god, it sounded better instead of 'being')
Then it began.
[Boss encounter initiated: Hollow Choir King]
A wave of pressure slammed the cathedral.
From above descended a colossal humanoid wrapped in flowing black-stained robes stitched from silence itself. No face. Only a mouth, no lips, just the echo of a thousand voices screaming in unison, reverberating in layered tones.
"You are not in harmony. Disintegrated."
"Yeah? Well, neither is your wardrobe, asshole."
Ashborn spat a glob of glowing ichor onto the floor, fingers flexing as his cosmic core spins behind his spine like a double-helix sun.

---
---
Phase one: The Choir's Overture
The hollow Choir King opened its mouth.
Reality folded.
A raw sonic wave detonated forward. No visual cue, only consequence. Ashborn was hurled like a meteor across the chamber, crashing through three crystal pylons and embedding into the far wall.
HP - 700
"Freakin--!"
Ashborn coughed Stardust, slammed both palms down, and snapped.
[Cosmic Pulse Scan - activated]
Echoes erupted from him, shattering the incoming second wave with precise harmonics.
He bolted forward in a blur.
Speed - A- [City-scale dash active]
Dexterity - B+ [Triple-weave feint engaged]
He vanished mid-stride, reappearing behind the king with a high-speed feint. Aetherion, mid-shift between blade and staff, slammed forward.
[Echo Vein Spiral - Activated]
> 3x strike
> spatial bleed effects
> recoil: 12% (negated by regen)
CLANG--BOOM--KRRRRRRCH
The Hollow King staggered back, robes unraveling into screaming echoes. Its scream turned to infrasound, making Ashborn's vision blur.
[Sanity Threat Detected]
> [Madness Pulse Resistance - active]
Ashborn grinned. "You think that's enough to break me?"
He snapped again.
[Cosmic Energy Manipulation - Full Channel]
> Armor Layer + Gravity Collapse Wave
> Fist = 3x mass + inertia skip
BOOOOOMM--
Ashborn's punch hit the boss like a black hole uppercut. It cratered into the ceiling, screaming as echoes tore its own body into fragments.
---
---
---
Phase two: The shattered harmony
The Hollow Choir King reassembled in mid-air. Multiple versions of itself phasing and overlapping, like a broken cassette on loop. Each spoke a different phrase in different tones, overlapping across dimensions
"You are unworthy.:
"This Dungeon rejects you."
"You belong to no melody."
Ashborn's core flared.
Reality-Weaving - short burst: Momentum Rewrite]
He snapped his fingers, and gravity reversed. The king's own reverb wave turned into a pulling vortex dragging it down.
Aetherion shifted again now with a spear.
Ashborn hurled it, hard. The weapon spiraled through the collapsing harmonics, dragging a trail of temporal lag with it.
[Radiant Sever + Memory Sigil] > Charged attack
FWWWWUUUUUMMM--KRSSSSSSHHHH!!
The strike hit. The impact folded the cathedral time loop zone into itself, shattering the Hollow king's torso and severing three vocal cords.
Phase three: Final aria - Resonant apocalypse
The hollow chor king screamed reality glitched.
Aetherion shivered. Ashborn's status flickered in the HUD. The room became a looping prison. Every second repeating with a two-second delay.
[Time Loop Detected.]
Spatial Echo interference field - Stabilized.
Ashborn narrowed his eyes. "...Sick of your soundtracks."
He focused.
[Genesis Thread: Phase Two - Living Loom]
> Thread life into the shattered ground.
> Cathedral turns semi-sentient
> Floating shield, spear constructs, and walls rise up.
[Harmonic Duality Engine - Active]
Entropy + Light magic > Paradox Blade Form
Ashborn rushed forward, dragging all elements behind him. Every step flared a Genesis Pulse. Every strike became two - first from Aetherion, second from the ambient construct replicas made of Living Loom Threads.
He used everything.
• 『Void Thread Lunge』> Left Echo to mimic.
• 『Astral Spiral - Echo Unleashed』> smashed half the floor into imploding debris.
• 『Quantum Resurgence』> from Genesis Fragment > Double Stat Boost for 10 minutes.
• 『Soul sync』> Echo Clone mimicked Ashborn's 3-step rotation perfectly.
"Shut--up--AND---DIE!!"
Final combo:
『Echo vein Spiral - Mastered Variant』
『Spiral-Entropic Genesis Collapse』
The entire cathedral lit up as ashborn slammed Aetherion down in an arc. The attack triggered a cascade:
• Entropy burst
• Light cascade bloom
• Genesis Flame trail
• Sound-core detonation
BOSS: HP - 0%
The hollow Choir King screamed one final time--
And was consumed by the very echo it once controlled.
[Boss defeated - Floor 40 Cleared]
+ 40,000 XP
Level Up > 26 > 28
Reward: Cosmic Core Subroutine - Echo
Forge Acquired
Aetherion Upgrade: Level.4 Unlocked
Memory Sigil slot 2 - Activated
Unlock: Twin Reality Convergence Slash Environmental Interface Partial Control - ONLINE.
Ashborn stood in the fading light of the imploding floor, panting lightly. Shoulder bleeding stars one eye twitching from all the feedback.
He slowly sat down on a floating piece of debris.
"...Yea. Stronger... but holy crap I think my bones are humming."
He looked up towards the dark sky of the floor 41 beginning to open.
"Alright, alright, alright, let's keep going. If I'm a god, then I'll make the rules. Let's see what's next."
And with a grin that didn't quite hide the madness forming behind his eyes, Ashborn rose.
[System Status: Echo forge Online Worldlayer interface Calibrating...]
"One step closer to being home huh... mom."
He vanished into the next layer of the Dungeon.
---
---
---
As ashborn stepped through the shimmering gate, the fractured echoes of Floor 40's collapse faded behind him like dying music. Before him stretched a narrow corridor of black marble, lit by drifting motes of violet light. Rising dust spiraled around his boots as he planted himself on the new threshold.
He paused and with a half-grin, summoned his HUD.
[Rewards Unlocked]
• Cosmic Core Subroutine: Echo Forge (Online)

• Aetherion Lv. 5 Upgrade Unlocked:
Unlocked Feature: Conceptual Overdrive Mode - Allows Aetherion to hijack the abstract concept of an opponent's ability and rewrite it. Limited by Power Difference, Energy Cost, and Conceptual Clarity,
Trigger Word: "Overdrive: Rewrite Mode Engage "
Cooldown: 6 minutes after overload.
Visual Shift: Gains triple-blade fractal aura
• [Memory Sigil Slot 2] - activated
Effect: Embed a second Echo Memory into your status. You may now have two constant passive modifications or loadouts live. Bonus: Sigils can now interact dynamically under cosmic interference.
• New Technique unlocked: [Twin Reality Convergence Slash]
Unlock Condition Met: Dual-Wield Mastery + Echo Forge + Genesis Thread Phase II
Description: A blade strike that occurs in both realities at once. Current and delayed.
Effect: First strike hits physically. The second strike is delayed in the timeline and attacks where the enemy would dodge. Greatly increases lethality against Phase-Shifted foes or Time-Users.
• Worldlayer interface: Partial control (Calibrating....)
His star-shaped eyes flared; the motes of light in the corridor reflected in their irises like tiny galaxies. He let out a low chuckle. Half thrill, half exasperation.
"Heh. Not bad. Not bad at all."
He flexed his fingers around Aetherion's hilt, feeling for the first time the promise of real choice in its forms and new power in its core.
Echo Forge Subroutine: Imbue local matter with reverberating energy fields. Constructs weapon arrays or defensive bulwarks that pulse on command.
Ashborn's grin widened.
"Floor 41..." he glanced down the corridor. The violet motes drifted toward a yawning archway carved with glyphs in dead languages. A soft thrum vibrated in the air.
[Worldlayer interface: Detecting ambient metaphysics... Partial readout 'Gravity Flux zones; 'Phantom Wraith Residue' 'Non-Euclidean angles.'
He inhaled deeply, feeling his Cosmic Core's twin orbs spin in harmonic resonance. His throat tickled with possibility.
"Reward this good only means one thing," he murmured, voice steady but eyes dancing,
"This floor's about to bury me in something even crazier."
Ashborn cracked his knuckles and with a confident stride, bounded forward into the unknown...
---
---
---
Floor 41 - Siege of the Shattered Legion
Environment: A blasted plain of fractured spines and iron-blood rivers. Smoke roiled from cratered pools. In the distance, towers of bone jutted like broken teeth.
Enemy waves:
Low-Rank: Gorematrix Drakes (Armored reptilians spewing corrosive ichor)
Mid-Rank: Ironbound Phalanx (Hulking skeletal warriors clad in spiked shields)
High-Rank: War-construct centurion (Towering golems of fused steel and bone)
---
---
---
Ashborn slammed Aetherion into the dirt, Echo Forge igniting around him. Resonance anchors sprouted in the iron-blood, forming spinning shield arrays that deflected Drakes' acidic streams. He vaulted onto a bone pillar and called forth Genesis Thread Living Loom, weaving spectral pikes that skewered incoming Phalanx shields.
As the Centurion advanced, he triggered Twin Reality Convergence Slash: A blade cut that struck the golem twice. Once physically, once in a delayed echo. Shattering its core plates. The construct fell in thunderous collapse.
XP +8,000 | Progress: 41/100 Floors cleared.
Floor 42 - Gravity Rift puzzle
Environment: A winding corridor where gravity flickered every five seconds walls became floors, and ceilings became pitfalls. Runes carved into the stone glowed with arcane logic.
Puzzle Mechanics:
Rune panels demanded synchronized voice commands—Choir's Last Tone artifact was key. Each panel required a layered chant (Mental frequencies + vocal codex) to realign gravity nodes.
Ashborn's Solution:
He activated Choir's Last Tone, layering commands silently through mental frequencies: "Overdrive: Rewrite Mode Engage," he whispered in intent, causing the nearby glyphs to shimmer. Gravity locked horizontal, opening new passages.
Halfway through, the panels glitched, and he used Reality-Weaving to reverse local inertia, sliding across the ceiling to realign the final rune.
XP +2,000 | Progress: 42/100 Floors Cleared
---
Floor 43 – Phantom Legion Onslaught
Environment: A vast hall of obsidian glass; every footstep echoed with spectral screams.
Enemy Waves:
Low-rank: Wispborne Soldiers (ethereal knights)
Mid-rank: Shade Drakes (shadowy winged lizards)
High rank: Phantom Marshal (commanding shade cavalry)
Choreography & Strategy:
Ashborn sprinted in Overdrive: Rewrite Mode, forcibly hijacking the Shades' phase-shift ability and rebinding it into his Astral Spiral. As Shade Drakes swooped, he spun—Astral Spiral – Echo Unleashed—dragging space in a vortex that devoured wraiths in a single pass.
Against the Phantom Marshal, he summoned Stellar Rebirth constructs, temporary sentient armor shards forming gauntlets and greaves around him. Using Spiral—Entropic Genesis Collapse, he shattered the Marshal's lance in two-phase strikes.
XP +10,000 | Progress: 43/100 Floors Cleared
---
Floor 44 – Hall of Broken Reflections
Environment: Endless mirrored chamber. Reflections moved of their own accord, attacking Ashborn's memories.
Character Interaction:
He encountered Seris, a trapped challenger's echo once a friend of Queen Ashley. Seris taught him to distinguish real from mirror by imprinting her voice into his Memory Sigil (Slot 2).
Choreography & Strategy:
Seris's voice guided him as he danced through reflections. He used Echo Vein Spiral on a mirror clone of himself. Shattering the false reflection and freeing Seris's echo to aid in combat, forming twin lobed blades.
XP +3,000 | Progress: 44/100 Floors Cleared
---
Floor 45 – Fire-Frost Crucible
Environment: A hall split in two one half drowned in superheated magma, the other frozen in eternal ice.
Enemy Waves:
Low-rank: Magma Drifters / Frost Wraiths
Mid-rank: Lava Golems / Ice Sentinels
High rank: Elemental Confluence (duo of fire and ice lords)
Choreography & Strategy:
Ashborn Cosmic Fusioned his Genesis Flame with Entropy, creating a spiraling blue-white inferno that carved through Lava Golems while freezing Frost Wraiths solid. Against the Confluence, he threaded his Living Loom into the floor, raising conductive veins that channeled magma into the ice lord, shattering it. Then he sheared the fire lord's core with Radiant Sever layered with Harmonic Feedback, ending both in a single combo.
XP +12,000 | Progress: 45/100 Floors Cleared
---
Floor 46 – Resonant Gate Puzzle
Environment: A circular chamber of floating rune tablets, each inscribed with a musical staff.
Puzzle Mechanics:
Tablets must be struck in perfect sequence to open the door timing measured in cosmic beats.
Ashborn's Solution:
He summoned Resonant Matter Expansion, forging a floating crystal mallet from cosmic threads. Each swing with Vibrational Pulse resonated with the tablet's frequency. When the tenth note rang true, the door split open.
XP +2,500 | Progress: 46/100 Floors Cleared
---
Floors 47–48 – Tides of the Primordials
Environment: A submerged ruin, water swirling with primordial energies.
Enemy Waves:
Low-rank: Abyssal Serpents
Mid-rank: Leviathan Remnants
High rank: Drowned Primarch (ancient titan wreathed in kelp)
Choreography & Strategy:
In near-zero gravity underwater, Ashborn used Sonar Compression Field to disrupt echolocation and Core Infusion to create a trident from his living loom. He jetted through water with Cosmic Flight, driving his Spear Mode into the Primarch's heart chamber, then drew back and unleashed Astral Spiral in a confined whirlpool, collapsing the titan's form into coral dust.
XP +15,000 | Progress: 48/100 Floors Cleared
---
Floor 49 – The Final Lock
Environment: A pentagonal chamber with no visible exit. Only a central pillar of shifting runes.
Puzzle Mechanics:
Combine Genesis Pulse and Memory Sigil moments to imprint past boss patterns into the pillar, unlocking the final gate.
Ashborn's Solution:
He replayed the sonic pattern of the Hollow Choir King via Memory Sigil Slot 1, then overlaid it with Genesis Pulse. Runes flared; the pillar dissolved into a gateway.
XP +3,500 | Progress: 49/100 Floors Cleared
Floor 50 - Boss arena: King of Craters (Eclipse Titan)
Type: Planet-crushing giant bound in solar chains
Weakness: Strike when the solar bindings phase to the lunar mode.
Reward: Weapon Blueprint: Solar Eclipsion Gauntlets + 50,000 XP
Location: Craterheart Expanse - An open, dead world suspended in a void sky, where gravity flickers and solar chains burn like dying halos around a slumbering god.
The ascent ended in silence.
Not the absence of sound, but a vacuum. A Crucible of stillness so profound that even thought felt exiled. Ashborn stood alone at the threshold of the Craterheart Expanse, a jagged wasteland lit by twin celestial bodies locked in eternal orbit. One sun, one moon, chained across the sky in a molten eclipse.
Above, the Eclipse Titan began to stir.
"So," Ashborn muttered under his breath, voice low, frayed with cosmic fatigue and the hunger of momentum. His breath steamed despite the null atmosphere.
"This is what you've been keeping from me, Dungeon? A god with a leash. Pathetic."
The titan's face. A ruined continent of blackened stone and star-forged metal shifted. Solar chains that bound its torso pulsed with convulsing light. Massive, molten craters burned across its back like smoking runes. As it rose, the ground cracked under seismic pressure, revealing miles-deep fissures brimming with radioactive core lava. The very gravitational axis of the floor began to tilt.
Its eyes opened. No pupils, just a horizon-wide lens of incandescent Eclipse-flame.
Ashborn's HUD flared:
[Warning: Gravity anomaly. Localized blackhole pulse detected]
[Boss Detected: Eclipse Titan - Crater King]
[Weakness condition: Solar chains phase to lunar polarity > Target Joints]
[Adaptive AI Combat signature: increases power per phase]
Ashborn drew Aetherion from its sealed sheath.
Aetherion didn't hum.
It growled.
[Phase One: Wake of Craters]
The Eclipse Titan moved impossibly fast. Its fist collapsed the horizon.
Aetherion screamed into spear-form as ashborn rocketed upward, boots crushing a rising geyser of molten rock. He spun through three gravitational folds mid-air, twisting inertia itself with Reality-Weaving as the titan's knuckles smashed down like a meteor storm.
"COME ON THEN, YOU SHACKLED DEMIGOD!"
He slashed through the pressure wave, a spiraling helix of entropy and light bursting from his weapon. The titan's hand followed him like a falling moon. Ashborn touched ground once. Only to launch off a floating shard of earth.
With each dash, his frame distorted in streaks of cosmic blur. The titan's back craters fired molten meteors. Ashborn ran them up.
"Let me teach you something, old god..."
"...A leash doesn't mean you're tamed."
He stabbed Aetherion spear-form into the lunar rune joint on the titan's left knee.
CRACK!!!
A spiral of pale blue symbols erupted, freezing molten iron mid-flow. The chain binding the leg flickered. Lunar mode engaged.
[Weak point exposed - Critical Joint stability: 74%]
The Titan roared. A sonic wave collapsed two nearby craters into bottomless pits.
Ashborn was flung backwards, armor flaking, cloak shredded into head-bled ash. But mid-flight. He rotated. His hand split the air.
"Echo Vein Spiral."
The world fractured.
Aetherion spun back into blade form, releasing a triple ripple slash. Time-delayed echoes that carved through the titan's right bicep as ashborn slammed against the far cliff.
Dust. Blood. Meteor shrapnel. Cosmic energy distortion.
He stood again.
Bleeding, but smiling.
[Phase two: Solar Crucible]
The Titan's chains switched polarity. Solar energy surged inward. Its chest opened a solar forge core exposed, like a dying sun trying to breathe.
Ashborn HUD beeped:
[Core Flare Build-up Detected - 21 Seconds to eruption]
"Alright then, let's dance before you blow."
He flickered his hand. Genesis Thread: Living Loom mode.
Thread burst from his core. Gold, Violet, and Entropy-black wrapping around meteors, Constructs, and even the dying air itself. A pseudo-satellite construct ring formed behind him. Echo Forge flared alive.
"Satellite array: pin him."
Ashborn blinked, shifting above the Titan's chest as the solar flare charged. The ring fired kinetic bolts downward while Ashborn screamed toward the core, Aetherion now in bow form. Cosmic Pulse arrows are drawn and vibrating with Mythoscape tension.
"Abyssal Aria - Threaded Shot!"
Every arrow crashed through the Titan's exposed chains blasting lunar cracks through its armor. He dove through the solar storm, cloak turned to plasma, skin slashed by radiation.
"Entropic Genesis Collapse!"
He slashed down with every ounce of mana and pain in his system. The solar core screamed. Chains shattered like god-glass The titan staggered.
Then...
BOOOOOM!
The Titan detonated its own solar heart.
[Phase three: Eclipse sovereign]
[Boss resurrected - Eclipse Overdrive form initiated]
[Phase shift: True Eclipse - Gravity 20x | atmospheric conversion: Lunar Forge Mode]
Ashborn hit the ground like a meteor.
Crawled out of the crater. Skin burned. Arm trembling. Core flickering erratically.
The Titan now floated unbound, cloaked in lunar flame and solar smoke. Its cratered form was reforged by its own explosion. Arms were now twin Eclipse hammers, each swing causing spatial rifts to open like howling mouths.
"Still standing..."
Ashborn raised his head, cracked a grin through the blood.
"You ever see a god bleed twice?"
He activated Overdrive Mode.
The ground shattered.
Cosmic threads spiraled into a dragon behind him - Nephilim Draconic Form (Partial Unseal)
He rose with the wind. Astral Spiral igniting the air into collapsing vortices.
His Echoform flickered beside him mimicking every stance.
"Let's rewrite your myth, crater king."
They clashed mid-air
Sword met hammer.
Each impact splits light and inverts physics. Ashborn weaved strikes through memory threading, slashing past future echoes of the Titan's blows. The Transcendental Shift activated. Aetherion flipped forms with each block, counter, and strike.
Spear - Block.
Blade - Sever.
Bow - Fire.
Staff - Redirect.
Blood. Fire. Moonlight. Screams. Titan's blows broke through the dimensional shielding. Ashborn's bones sang in pain.
"I'm not just a challenger," he gasped grabbing the Titan's hammer arm and forcing it off-course. "I'm the guy they send when legends don't die fast enough.:
With his final burst:
"TWIN REALITY CONVERGENCE--SEVER."
Two strikes landed at once. The first in this moment, the second in the moment the Titan thought it dodged.
The Eclipse Titan paused.
Looked down.
Aetherion pierced its core. Its form is beginning to fall apart, not in pieces, but in layers of its own identity.
"Fall. And remember the name that broke your chain."
"Ashborn lionheart."
(AN: Cringe I know...)
[Victory]
[Boss Defeated: King of Craters - Eclipse Titan]
[+50,000 XP Gained]
[Level up: Lv. 28 > Lv. 31]
[Item obtained: Weapon Blueprint - Solar Eclipsion Gauntlets]
[Core sync surge: +3.2% > 91.8]
Ashborn staggered back, panting. Skin charred. Eyes wild.
Then he looked up at the darkening sky.
"Floor fifty..."
"Guess that was the hallway mark."
Aetherion shifted silently to blade form and pulsed once
'Onward.'

The glowing panels unfolded around him like a holographic star map, spinning dense arcane symbols and stat grids in tight spirals.
Ashborn blinked, watching the data cascade.
"...New cosmic core and Genesis Thread stages alongside new broken abilities. More headaches," he muttered under his breath, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "They keep upgrading on their own like some overachieving AI."
He exhaled sharply, flexing a sore shoulder as the memory of Aetherion's final swing echoed through his arm like a Phantom weight.
"I used more Aetherion and physical stat to fight... not much of the magic type," he muttered, scrolling through the update. "But once I'm done with this tower... I'll start learning how to properly use my cosmic powers. The Genesis Thread... the cosmic core... all of it."
Ashborn closed the panel with a flick, his black hair rustling from a gentle pulse of residual Genesis Wind.
"...My attacks are going to start getting weird, aren't they," he said to no one, the quiet grin creeping across his face betraying a rare flicker of excitement.
His fingers flexed as Aetherion shimmered back into his hand, its new fractal glow humming with anticipation. The blade pulsed once, responding like a loyal beast ready to feed again.
Ashborn exhaled, then turned toward the broken path ahead looming beyond.
"Alright then... let's see what the next nightmare looks like."
And with that, the glow of his core lit the darkness around him as the Genesis Thread wove silently around his limbs, humming its silent, mythic song.
