I swallowed. "Can we talk? Just us?"
But before she could answer, Aisha appeared behind her, smirking.
"Why? So you can feed her more lies?" she said.
I froze.
Jessi looked between us, then shook her head. "I… I have to go."
I watched her walk away, my chest aching.

Even now, I have to ride in Aisha's car to school every morning. I sit there in silence while she chats and laughs like nothing ever happened.
But inside, I'm screaming.
I miss Jessi. I miss who I used to be when I was with her.
And I hate that Aisha — with her pretty smile and cruel games — took all of that away.
