"Cut me?"

"Who the hell do you think you're looking down on, bastard?!"

Ewell flew back with a gloomy expression, laughing wildly in disdain.

But in the very next second, his laughter died.

A dry gasp escaped his throat.

At some point—unseen—a hand had gripped his neck tightly.

It was that human man.

The one who'd just said he'd hack him to death.

"Not a Shinigami…?"

"A Quincy? Why are you with the Shinigami...?"

Ewell turned his neck stiffly, dread creeping into his every nerve. But the most terrifying part—

With all his monstrous strength, he couldn't even break free.

It was like his power was being completely suppressed.

This man... was stronger than him.

---

> [Does Tifa know? I heard she has a new movie coming out. I have a friend who wants to go with Kang Yikang.]

> [Yo, ran into another lunatic like this again?]

> [Adjuchas-class Arrancar (failed product), only half-Arrancar through Hōgyoku. His fantasy woman is that ninja Yuffie, caught stealing, tied up. Ugh. And that guy—how'd he end up with all the orbs I stuffed inside… There was still one left!]

> [Forget it. Anyway, this guy was just cannon fodder, sent by Aizen to destroy Karakura Town—to force Urahara Kisuke to show up.]

> [Now he's dead. Because you disrupted Aizen's plan.]

---

"Destroy Karakura Town?"

Kanbaru chuckled. "Cool. I'll buff you up first."

He grabbed Ewell's head and vanished.

Didn't matter if he was Aizen's dog or just out for chaos.

Cut first. Talk later.

BOOM!

In a flash, Kanbaru slammed Ewell's head into the ground in an open area.

CRACK!

The earth caved in instantly. Dense, web-like fissures spread hundreds of meters in every direction.

Another boom followed as Ewell peeled himself from the crater, jumped back a few times to regain distance, and spat a mouthful of dirt.

He glared at the man.

This time—seriously.

He had accepted Lord Aizen's orders thinking this would be easy. Kill a few humans. Shake up Karakura Town.

But a Quincy? A captain-level Quincy?

And... cooperating with a Shinigami?

Since when did **Quincy and Shinigami—sworn enemies—**start teaming up?

"You two bastards..."

Ewell's pupils narrowed.

Not far away, the blonde Shinigami girl—Matsumoto Rangiku—boldly rushed toward Kanbaru, beaming with excitement like it was a game.

"There's an opening," Ewell sneered.

He vanished into a blur.

Only to reappear midair—limbs flailing forward, body flying like a cannonball.

BOOM!

A shockwave exploded from the impact as Kanbaru swatted him out of the air.

"Opening?"

"Who the hell are you looking down on?"

Kanbaru scratched his head and pried Matsumoto—who had clung to him—from his torso.

---

Ewell groaned but rose again, panting and half-kneeling. His eyes trembled with disbelief.

Kanbaru simply muttered, "Oh? You kept your Hierro during evolution? Not bad."

His gaze momentarily drifted to a distant, half-destroyed building, then returned to Ewell.

Ewell's entire body was wrapped in armor-like skin—Hierro, the hardened defense layer that high-level Arrancar develop by compressing spiritual energy onto their bodies.

Even a zanpakutō would struggle to cut it.

It had helped him survive Kanbaru's head slam—and even now, it barely held his bones together.

A genuinely useful ability.

---

"You sure know us well… Quincy brat…" Ewell spat.

This had gone wrong fast.

He was supposed to kill some weaklings, destroy infrastructure.

Now he was fighting for his life—against a Quincy who could casually protect a Shinigami.

"I know more than you think."

Kanbaru vanished again.

Ewell didn't even react before a crushing kick slammed into his spine.

BOOM!

A white shockwave burst from the point of impact, and Ewell was launched into the sky like a missile.

Friction singed the air around him—black smoke trailed behind as his body spiraled, near combustion.

Before he could stabilize, another strike landed from behind.

RUMBLE!

From above, the ground below looked like it had been hit by a meteorite.

Ewell smashed into the earth.

A massive crater caved in beneath him. Blood gushed from his mouth.

---

"Two kicks, and his Hierro's already broken?"

Matsumoto finally caught up, eyes wide in disbelief.

Sure, Hierro's durability scales with the Arrancar's spiritual pressure, but Kanbaru had just manhandled an Adjuchas-class Menos like it was nothing.

Even she couldn't pierce that defense.

Was Kanbaru always this terrifying?

---

"Damn Quincy… What the hell are you?"

In the collapsed pit, Ewell groaned, spitting blood again.

The second kick was different. He felt it the moment it landed.

If not for his unnatural Hollow physiology, that impact alone could've killed him.

He was barely alive.

And he was starting to wonder—

Was Kanbaru the real monster here?

---

"Destroy Karakura Town?"

Kanbaru tilted his head mockingly.

"If you think you can, go ahead. Try it."

He parroted back Ewell's earlier threat to Matsumoto, sarcasm dripping.

---

"Nice job, Kanbaru brat!" Matsumoto pumped her fist and winked.

"Brat?" Kanbaru muttered, twitching.

Then he suddenly pulled Miss Yu out from behind him, who had stumbled in during the fight.

Ewell: "???"

Matsumoto: "…"

Enough, bastard.

Want to take revenge on me? Just do it directly! Why drag this poor girl into it?

Matsumoto glared, promising silent retribution.

Let's see if I don't toss you around later, you brat.

You really think Rangiku Onee-san is someone you can tease without consequence?

---

"That… Who are you again?" Ewell asked bitterly. "No, never mind. Doesn't matter—"

It matters, damn it!

I'm Ewell! An Adjuchas-class Menos Grande!

His pride was fracturing.

---

"Annoying as she is, she's still my neighbor," Kanbaru muttered, "and sometimes she gives me... benefits."

"So yeah, I tease her a bit. But not too much."

Benefits?!

You're clearly just lusting after her, you degenerate!

Ewell's face darkened further.

---

"Damn kid… Stop spouting nonsense! You don't even know what an Adjuchas-level Arrancar means! You'll learn soon enough—"

Kanbaru cut him off. Calm. Dismissive.

"I think it's you who doesn't understand anything."

He slowly descended, touching down lightly.

"You haven't even realized…"

"You haven't sensed my spiritual pressure."

---

Hearing that, Ewell's pupils shrank.

And finally—he did realize something was deeply wrong.

From the beginning until now, he had never once sensed any spiritual pressure from this Quincy.

Not a flicker.

It was as if Kanbaru's very existence lay beyond his ability to perceive.

Just as ants cannot comprehend humans…

Just as microbes cannot grasp the presence of giants…

They were not even creatures of the same dimension.

Ewell's heart pounded violently, his mind reeling from the realization. He instinctively stepped back a few paces, as if comforting himself with each step.

Then, through gritted teeth and a face twisted in disbelief, he muttered:

"Impossible…"

No. Ridiculous. This is a joke. It can't be.

---

"Hierro really is an impressive defense,"

Kanbaru's voice suddenly echoed behind his ear—calm and condescending.

"...But that's all it is."

"NANI?!"

Ewell's eyes went wide with panic.

He couldn't see anything.

This movement—this speed—utterly eclipsed his Sonído rotation.

Even his Adjuchas-level sensory instincts, honed through centuries of kill-or-be-killed combat, couldn't track it.

How fast was this man?

---

"An instinctual counter?"

Kanbaru tilted his head slightly as Ewell fired a close-range Cero in reflex.

His eyes narrowed with faint admiration.

That reaction speed… That killing intent…

As expected from a Menos born in endless combat.

But—

Kanbaru didn't slow down. His expression didn't change.

He raised one leg casually, sweeping it outward while simultaneously pointing his fingertips ahead.

"Einschild." (Single Shield)

BOOM!

A wave of crimson spirit pressure exploded outward.

The berserk energy behind the Cero surged in all directions.

But before it could reach him—

The Quincy's Einschild, condensed from hardened spiritual particles, surged like a translucent wall of absolute force.

The Cero imploded against it.

Not even a hairline crack.

---

Since entering the Hōgyoku fusion state, the quality and durability of Kanbaru's spiritual constructs had soared exponentially.

His Einschild was no longer basic Quincy defense—it was now a barrier enhanced by a Hōgyoku-fused soul's willpower and internal evolution.

Even Gotei 13 captains would need effort to break through it.

As for Ewell—just a failed, half-Arrancar produced by the Hōgyoku?

His spiritual foundation was incomplete. His evolution—artificial and unstable.

In Kanbaru's eyes, he was no more than a poorly tempered sheet of glass pretending to be steel.

---

"Who the hell do you think you're underestimating, brat?!"

Seeing Kanbaru approach again, Ewell roared and braced himself, arm muscles bulging.

But the next moment—

CRACK!

A single kick crushed through his block, sending him sprawling to the ground.

His entire right arm twisted grotesquely—bent backward at a non-human angle, bones snapping audibly.

He couldn't even scream. The pain hadn't even hit yet—

Because the terror hit first.

---

"This… this power again…"

"You bastard… What the hell ARE you?!"

A human?

No. No human could possess strength that surpassed a Menos Grande.

---

Ewell's forehead dripped with cold sweat.

The agony from his ruined arm began pulsing at last, but that wasn't the issue.

The issue was the man standing before him.

---

In this era, Adjuchas-class Arrancar were not weak.

In fact, they stood at the peak of Hollow evolution—each one forged through relentless battle and devouring thousands of kin.

But…

Even peak performance was meaningless against a being beyond your realm.

Ewell felt it clearly now.

This wasn't a fight.

It was a one-sided massacre.

---

He would die.

If he stayed, he would absolutely die.

The gap was insurmountable.

He had to retreat!

---

Without a shred of hesitation, Ewell roared and fired another Cero to cover his escape, then turned and activated Sonído in full reverse.

Flee. Keep fleeing. Keep sounding.

Ring. Ring. Ring again.

---

But then—

"By the way…"

A calm, casual voice drifted beside his ear.

"Why do you think you can escape?"

Ewell's scalp went numb.

He snapped his head sideways—

And saw a figure emerging from empty space, walking toward him without urgency.

Kanbaru.

He had chased him effortlessly, reappearing without a ripple in the air.

---

Wait. What's that thing?

Suddenly, Ewell's eyes nearly popped from their sockets.

He stared in horror at the strange, gleaming object now resting over Kanbaru's shoulder—

A massive barrel-shaped cannon, glowing faintly with spiritual light.

Where the hell did that come from?!

---

And before he could process it—

The barrel tilted.

Its dark mouth pointed directly at his head.

---

"Heilige Verlust." (Holy Loss)

Ewell: "???"

What kind of move name is that?!

The spiritual particles had already begun gathering.

A howling column of violet-blue light churned inside the chamber, as if tearing space apart.

The Reiatsu twisted violently—not from a Quincy technique, but from something far more chaotic and primal.

The Hōgyoku's imprint.

A fusion of Quincy technology and unstable transcendent matter.

---

Ewell's breath hitched.

But with madness flashing in his eyes, he thrust his left hand toward his chest.

"Cero—FIRE!"

Kanbaru: "???"
