Dr Young could feel herself getting angry as she stepped out of the lift. Since the other mutants had arrived, the base has descended into chaos.
'It's all that bitch Greena's fault.' she said to herself as she made her way towards the base's command centre.
As she passed through the door she noticed Lt Watts and a few soldiers standing around at a monitor observing what was happening. Hearing her enter the room, John turned towards her with a sour look on his face.
'What happened down there, Doctor? Why is the base under attack from those mutants?' He asked her in an angry tone/
'We've been betrayed.' she said quietly.
'Who's the traitor?' Watts shouted angrily.
Dr Young looked away from him in fear as she had never seen him lose his temper before.
'I think it's Agent Greena.'
'What makes you say that, Sarah?' Watts asked as he stared at the monitor.
Dr Young chewed her lower lip, ' Fox said he and his followers had help.'
'What makes you think it's her? She's one of our most loyal agents.' He asked as his radio receiver began to buzz. Ignoring her, he walked over to the monitor, 'Watts here.' he said calmly.
'Lieutenant,' a young soldier responded, 'Thank God! We're under attack, hostiles have taken the armoury on the third floor.'
'Stay calm, son, I'm sending reinforcements your way.'
'Negative, sir, there is no…' before the soldier finished his sentence, there was a scream followed by a deathly silence.'
Watts looked at Dr Young and shouted into the radio, 'Soldier, are you there? Respond!'
At first there was no answer, then a familiar voice answered, 'Hello there, Lieutenant, how are you doing?'
'Fox!' he snapped. Ben started laughing as he heard his name.
'What's so damned funny, freak?' Watts shouted in panic.
'You're almost out of time, John,' he said nonchalantly.
'What do you mean by that, freak, and how many of my men have you killed?'
Ben looked over at Stacey and then towards Greena who was stood in front of a large group of soldiers in handcuffs. 'John, do you think I'm a cold-blooded killer like you?'
'Please, I know that you and the rest of your followers are nothing but murderers and terrorists.'
Hearing this Stacey snatched the radio from Ben's hand, 'The only murderer here is you! You're going to pay for what you did to Shifter, you bastard.'
'Please don't make me laugh, you both think you can win against me and my forces.'
Before either of them could say anything else, Watts turned the radio off and made his way towards Dr Young who scowled at him.
'What? Why are you giving me that look?' He grumbled.
'John,' she said reasonably, 'I don't think that we should underestimate Fox or his followers.'
Watts laughed again, 'What? Do you think I'm afraid of him?' Before she could answer, out of the vents came a thick, blue vapour that settled in the middle of the room. As it did, it took on the form of three figures, one male, and two females. Ben, Stacey, and Mist materialised before them. Dr Young gasped as Lt Watts grew furious when he saw them.
