Chapter 4 - The Prophetic Nightmare

Xerxez slew the night until the sunlight abundantly shone throughout Thallerion. His own race was free; the slaves released the ropes they were forced to pull to carry King Hedromus's heavy carriage. Indeed, intelligence and tactics are truly sharp; the mind can fell a strong warrior. Xerxez proved that the mind is as strong as many soldiers, and self-confidence was merely an armor Xerxez used to face the king of Moonatoria.

After the demise of King Hedromus, other nations had nightmares about Thallerion when they heard of the Moonatorian king's defeat. Who would have thought that a mere youth would defeat a king nicknamed "the fierce Bear," which was how the Moonatorians usually referred to King Hedromus.

After the event, many whispers, like mushrooms, sprouted and spread throughout the land; some believed Xerxez was perhaps the next Orion? But others said: Xerxez was the one mentioned in the prophecy?

The memories of yesterday are now silent in people's minds. Nevertheless, all of Thallerion sincerely thanks him for achieving victory; everyone is happy because everything stolen by the Moonatorians has been returned. Furthermore, every Moonatorian soldier in every district, along with the mercenaries in the Bellatrix district, were expelled without any of their belongings.

In the end, Xerxez was appointed king by the council led by Matheros's parents. That's when Xerxez's reign began; he poured his entire strength and soul into serving as an exemplary king for all of Thallerion. The army grew stronger, and other nations recognized his skill and brilliance in devising tactics. Many visited Thallerion to seek Xerxez's counsel, which is why Xerxez became known to many nations from then on.

Though he won that battle, he drew deep breaths from within. How could the hero recognized by Thallerion be happy—it was like a silent cry in his heart that no one could hear—he was alone. His weary eyes wandered to his father's old seat, and even his room had lost the voice that used to be filled with his mother's.

Xerxez realized how much he was enveloped by a heavy truth when he saw himself in the mirror; his body was truly handsome, robust, and strong, but when he looked at himself—he had no one with him; only his own reflection in the mirror.

And one night, Xerxez was plagued by a nightmare: from where he stood far away, a terrifying light struck the sky and shattered it, and the monstrous face of a beast peered out!
