The Planeswalker's ability to traverse worlds came in two forms: returning to previously visited worlds or opening pathways to new ones.
The Pokémonverse was Damien's first destination and, so far, his only one.
To prepare for this journey, Damien had spent half a month arming himself as best he could before boldly opening the gate to a new world.
For his first crossing, Damien arrived in the Sinnoh region.
Penniless at the time, he relied on trading Cardinal World minerals, prepared in advance, with the residents of a local town.
Fortunately, his first destination was the Pokémonverse.
As widely known, the people of the Pokémonverse were generally warm, hospitable, and straightforward.
This made Damien's task of securing travel funds remarkably smooth.
With money in hand, Damien began planning his itinerary.
The gates opened by the Planeswalker ability had a limited duration. In the Pokémonverse, for instance, they lasted only seven days.
After that, he would be forcibly returned to the Cardinal World.
Then, a seven-day cooldown would follow before he could open another gate.
With just seven days, Damien decided that the most efficient and cost-effective Pokémon to bond with was Ogerpon.
In the games, Ogerpon boasted formidable combat abilities and versatile mechanics.
Moreover, she had a gentle temperament.
Though a bit mischievous, she was kind at heart, fearful of loneliness, and eager to connect with others.
'Close by, low difficulty.'
'Other Pokémon require nurturing and might not even cross my path.'
'Only Ogerpon's location is certain... go there, and I can start winning her over.'
With his decision made, Damien promptly purchased a ticket to Kitakami.
Damien's luck was truly remarkable.
He vividly recalled that day, climbing Oni Mountain and finding, in an empty cave, a pitiful figure clutching a teal mask, alone and desolate.
Whatever plans Damien had initially held, in that moment, he genuinely wanted to give her a warm home.
"Hello, Ogerpon."
After some interaction and bonding, Damien earned Ogerpon's trust and helped her reclaim her lost mask. "Want to come with me and see the world outside?"
Forget the troublesome folks of Kitakami or the so-called Loyal Three.
With his superhuman base-world physique, Damien showed them what true strength meant!
Yes, no Pokémon were needed.
With just himself and his fists, Damien single-handedly swept through all of Kitakami!
Of course, he didn't actually harm anyone.
At most, he destroyed the shrine housing the masks and gave Okidogi a solid knock on the head.
All in all, Damien's journey to the Pokémonverse was a resounding success.
He brought Ogerpon back with him and gained two abilities classified as "magic" by the Cardinal World: Energy Cube Creation and Spirit Space.
As the name suggested, Energy Cube Creation allowed Damien to transform fruits into energy cubes of various flavors.
Adapted by the world's rules, these energy cubes were suitable not only for Ogerpon but also for regular humans.
They were akin to the compressed rations of Damien's previous life, packing substantial nutrition into small cubes.
As for Spirit Space, it was the result of the Voice of the World analyzing the Poké Balls Damien brought back.
The Poké Balls vanished, replaced by a personal spatial pocket where Damien could store his familliars.
These were the full extent of the benefits Damien gained from the Pokémonverse through his Planeswalker ability.
"It's time to leave."
Damien turned, glancing at the distant village with little attachment in his eyes.
This land belonged to the Kingdom of Falmuth.
Having read the original novel, Damien knew how deplorable this nation was.
The nobles extorted relentlessly, living in decadence and excess, utterly indifferent to the plight of commoners.
Moreover, the humans here harbored a deep-seated hatred for monsters, which naturally extended to mixed-blood Majins like Damien.
Damien's race, mixed-blood Majin, stemmed from the union of a Majin and a human.
However, perhaps due to the passage of time, the Majin blood in Damien's veins was too diluted.
Before awakening his memories, he exhibited no traits distinct from ordinary humans.
Even so, life in the village was far from pleasant.
The notion that monsters were evil was deeply ingrained in Falmuth, and mixed-blood Majins like Damien faced the same discrimination.
This had been his life until a month ago.
That day, Damien suddenly awakened his past-life memories and heard the Voice of the World.
The Voice of the World bestowed upon him the Unique Skills: Planeswalker, Leader, and Capturer.
Beyond the exceptional Planeswalker, the Capturer skill allowed Damien to form contracts and take on familliars.
This skill was somewhat akin to a "beast tamer" profession, but far more convenient and powerful.
As for Leader...
It complemented Capturer perfectly.
Whenever Damien gained a familliar, their Existence Value would, to some extent, feed back into Damien, boosting his own.
Likewise, as Damien's Existence Value increased, his familliars would also benefit.
Existence Value was a unique concept in the Tensuraverse.
It was somewhat like combat power but not entirely tied to strength. Instead, it influenced an individual's total Magicule and their inherent rank.
Take Ogerpon, for example. Upon arriving in the Cardinal World, the Voice of the World automatically granted her the Unique Skills Destroyer and Grower.
Along with these came an energy system collectively known as Magicule.
Had she remained the original Ogerpon, even as a Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet with mastery over various moves, she would likely only rank as a D-grade in the Cardinal World.
However, thanks to Damien's Capturer skill, a master-familliar bond was formed between him and Ogerpon.
This bond earned her the Cardinal World's recognition upon their return.
"Existence Value?"
Ogerpon could also see her status panel. Pointing to one attribute, she asked, "Is that the thing called Magicule?"
"Exactly."
Damien praised her, "Ogerpon, you're amazing! With 6500 points of Magicule, you've already reached B-rank in the Cardinal World."
"B-rank?"
Ogerpon tilted her head, curious. "What about you, Damien?"
"As for me…"
Damien glanced at his 3500 points of Magicule. "I'm probably around C-rank."
In this world, aside from regular animals, races deemed harmful to humans were collectively called "monsters."
Among them, highly intelligent races were "Majins." while powerful humanoid monsters were "Majinkind."
Based on their threat level, the Free Guild classified them into simple ranks:
Special S (Calamity Grade): Beyond a single nation's ability to handle, requiring united efforts from multiple nations, a threat to humanity's survival.
S (Disaster Grade): Can be managed with a major nation's forces.
Special A (Catastrophe Grade): Capable of threatening an entire nation.
A (Hazard Grade): Can cause severe damage to a city.
B: Black Spider, Ogre Tribe, etc.... capable of destroying a village single-handedly.
C: Lizardman Tribe, Pegasus, etc.... slightly stronger than trained professional soldiers.
D: Orc Tribe, etc.... dangerous enough that three or four average adults could be at risk.
E: Goblin, etc.... slightly weaker than an average adult, often appearing in groups.
F: No combat ability.
Based on Existence Value and Magicule calculations, Ogerpon was roughly equivalent to a B-rank Ogre, possessing the destructive power to wipe out a village of hundreds on her own.
When combined with her Destroyer skill and the potential for further growth through her Grower skill, Ogerpon's actual combat ability and potential were even greater.
In short, as Damien put it…
He gently patted Ogerpon's head, grinning. "My Ogerpon has the makings of a Demon Lord!"
