Chapter 10 - BIG FIGHT

Diego's POV

"Leave me alone," Adriana cried as I gripped her neck tightly. I was too furious to listen so I tightened my grip. If only she minded her words, she wouldn't be pleading for her life right now.

She slapped and kicked me multiple times but it didn't have any effect on me. Suddenly, she pressed hard on the injury on my shoulder where I was shot and the pain pierced through me so much that I had to release her from my grip.

"Get back here Adriana," I said while chasing after her as she ran towards the door. However, the pressure she applied on the injury made it to sting me badly and I stopped chasing after her and sat down on a chair nearby in my study.

"Templeton!" I called one of my men in a loud voice. He ran into the study and saw me in pain.

"Boss, what happened?" he asked. "Do you need me to take you to a hospital?" I dreaded hospitals and pharmacys therefore, I couldn't go there.

"Just bring my medical kit from my drawer beside the shelves," I told him, still in slight pain. He got it for me and I instructed him to leave and shut the door behind him.

I enjoyed doing things on my own where I know people won't interfere. I changed the bandage which was wrapped around my shoulder to a new one after cleaning the little blood that came out of my injury.

"That girl is surely done for," I said to myself.

I came out of my study and decided to get a little rest in my bedroom. "Templeton, find a way to reach Luis and tell him to come here immediately," I said and went into my bedroom.

As I lay on my bed, flashbacks of when the incident happened popped into my head. The way Adriana kept on gasping for breath and requesting for her medicine made me confused and I had to figure out more about it.

"Ignacio, can you hear me?" I asked when I picked up my phone and dialed his number.

"Yes boss, I can hear you," he replied.

"I need you to find out about Adriana's personal life like where she had been and what she had been up to," I instructed him. In order to finally tame her, I needed to know more about her personal life.

"Ok boss, the information will be ready soon," he confidently said. I cut the call and threw my phone at one end of the bed. The urge to sleep stepped in and I had to surrender to it.

Mr Antonio's POV

"Boss, you have an important call," one of my guards entered my office and told me.

"Who is it from?" I asked. I was not in the mood to receive and calls for now as I was busy with a lot of work.

"The Delgado syndicate, Mr Delgado sir," my guard replied. I took the phone from him and told my guards to leave my office and shut the door behind them. They left and I answered the call.

"What took you so long to pick up my call?" the voice at the other end asked. "And when are you free to meet with me.

"We will meet next week and don't call till then, I replied the person. This individual was also giving me problems and complicating my plans so I didn't have the strength to deal with the person.

"But how about wh….." the person tried saying but I cut him short by ending the call.

I was reviewing some important documents and about an hour later, someone barged into my office and slammed the door shut.

I looked up and was about to shout at the person for coming in without permission when the person instantly took off the mask he was wearing.

"What are you doing here?" I asked the person, standing up from my chair. Was he trying to get me exposed or what? He wasn't even bothered at all and just sat down comfortably.

"Why would you cut my call?" he asked calmly. Was he out of his mind? Just because I cut his call, he came here personally.

"You could have just called back, you didn't have to come here," I said in a low tone. "Leave now before someone sees you and I'll call you."

The man didn't even move his body once, he just sat there and crossed his legs. "What does he want?" I asked myself.

"Alright, what do you want?" I asked when I noticed he wasn't ready to leave. "Talk fast and be on your way."

"Now you're finally reasoning," he said with a smile. "Come sit down, let's talk well."

I hesitantly sat down and began to listen to him.

"How is Diego doing?" he asked. This man was really calling for problems as long as he was here and I personally didn't want problems.

"Get straight to the point please," I begged.

"What are you doing about the Castillo and Cruz syndicates?" he questioned, suddenly serious. "How long is it taking you to get things done on their side?"

Gosh! I knew he was going to ask me this question soon but I didn't expect it to be this soon.

"There was little problems but I've handled it and I will get things done quickly," I replied.

"Not quickly, but...."

He was talking when the door opened and Luis entered in on our discussion. I froze in shock.
