Chapter 53 - It Didn't Feel Like A Thursday

"Tetanus shot." He grimaced. "I don't think I'm going to be able to sit down for a week."

Susan brushed a fallen lock of hair away from his brow. "I'm so sorry, Ross." Then she realized what he was saying. "You can't go back to Oklahoma City, can you?"

"No. I can't leave the Harley here and I can't sit on it for the long drive, either."

Susan tried, she really did, not to feel happy about Ross staying. After all, he had wrecked her wedding, probably ruined her only chance at having a family with Kelsey...but her anger had dissipated.

The person she needed to blame was herself. She should have never agreed to George's proposal. She should not have allowed her insecurities to rule her decision-making. She loved Kelsey and would provide a good home for her.

Wasn't that enough?

It would have to be.

"I'll take you home with me," offered Susan. "You can call George in the morning and tell him what happened."
