After Son Gohan defeated Frieza, he immediately flew back to Piccolo to check on his injuries.
"Uncle Piccolo, how are you?" Gohan asked, concern written all over his face.
"I'm fine, Gohan! You did really well just now!" Piccolo gave him a rare smile.
Piccolo slowly stood up, clenched his fists, and gritted his teeth. He began channeling his energy, and a powerful aura burst out from his body.
"Ahhh!"
With a roar, new flesh and muscle rapidly regenerated on his damaged shoulder. Within moments, he looked as if he had never been injured at all.
"I'm so glad you're okay, Uncle Piccolo!" Gohan said, clearly relieved.
Just then, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu flew over from the nearby mountains, having sensed that the battle had ended.
"Frieza is finally taken care of!" Krillin sighed in relief, patting his chest. "We were really scared just now… Thank goodness you were here, Gohan!"
"I didn't expect you to surpass us at such a young age," Yamcha said, clearly astonished.
"Hmph."
Vegeta snorted, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the mysterious boy who had helped them.
"Enough chit-chat! Who the hell is that kid? We don't know anything about him," Vegeta said coldly.
Everyone turned to look at the boy, curious about his identity and how he planned to explain himself.
"Ah… um…"
The boy hesitated, clearly not wanting to reveal too much. Instead, he turned to Goku.
"Mr. Goku, can we talk privately? I'll explain everything to you."
Vegeta growled. "Say it right here! You're not going anywhere, kid!"
"Come on, Vegeta," Goku said, waving him off. "It's fine. I'll tell you guys everything later."
With that, Goku and the boy flew off to the other side of the mountain, out of earshot.
Or so they thought.
Although the rest of the group couldn't hear what the two were saying, there was one exception—Piccolo. Thanks to his Namekian ears, he could hear their entire conversation, even from afar.
"What's up with them?" Yamcha asked, frowning. "Why'd they have to fly all the way over there?"
"Right?" Krillin scratched his bald head. "And why does he only want to talk to Goku?"
Having witnessed the strength of Goku and the others, the boy no longer felt the need to test them. Instead, he got straight to the point.
He revealed the truth about the future.
He was the son of Vegeta and Bulma—his name was Trunks.
Goku was stunned to hear what the future held… not only the threat of deadly androids but also the revelation that Vegeta and Bulma had a child together.
Trunks pulled a small capsule from his jacket and handed it to Goku.
"Uncle Goku, this is special medicine. When your heart disease flares up, take this—you'll recover."
"Thanks a lot, Trunks!" Goku said gratefully.
Trunks then tilted his head and asked curiously, "Uncle Goku, how did everyone here become so powerful?"
Goku smiled. "Rayden told us that powerful enemies would appear in the future. So we've been training hard every single day."
"Rayden?" Trunks asked in confusion. "He didn't come with you today?"
Goku was surprised. "He left Earth a few months ago to train in space."
Trunks shook his head. "There's no one named Rayden in my timeline."
Goku was puzzled but shrugged. "He's a good friend of ours—very strong. Maybe things were different in your timeline."
Trunks' curiosity deepened. Is this Rayden really as amazing as Uncle Goku says? I'd really like to meet him...
"Oh, that's right!" Goku suddenly exclaimed. "Trunks, why don't you train with us? You can stay until you're strong enough to defeat those androids!"
Trunks smiled but shook his head. "No, Uncle Goku. I have to go back now. But I'll return in three years."
His mother was still waiting in the future. He couldn't stay.
Once their conversation ended, Trunks pulled out a universal capsule and tossed it onto the ground.
With a bang, the capsule transformed into a sleek time-traveling vehicle. Trunks climbed in and hit the ignition. A brilliant white flash surrounded the machine, and in an instant, Trunks disappeared.
Goku stared at the spot where he had vanished before turning around and flying back to the others.
Vegeta immediately questioned him. "Kakarot, what did he say? Why did he just leave like that?"
Goku scratched the back of his head. "It's kind of complicated… I'm not sure where to start."
Piccolo stepped forward, shaking his head. "I'll explain."
"You heard us?" Goku blinked, surprised.
"I have special ears, remember?" Piccolo smirked. "Don't worry—I won't reveal his identity. But the warning he gave us is something everyone needs to know."
Goku nodded. "Alright, go ahead, Piccolo."
Piccolo explained everything Trunks had said—about the arrival of deadly androids in three years, and the danger that lay ahead—without revealing Trunks' true identity.
Everyone was shocked.
"What?! We're all going to be killed by androids?" Krillin gasped.
Piccolo nodded grimly. "That's why we have to train. Harder than ever before."
Goku turned to Krillin. "You want to train with us?"
Krillin shook his head. "No thanks, Goku. Your training methods are a bit… much for us."
"Alright, then. See you in three years!"
Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo took off into the sky, flying toward their new training location.
Krillin returned to Kame House, Yamcha flew back to the city, and Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu went to the dojo they had built deep in the mountains.
Everyone had the same goal: to train as hard as possible to prepare for the android crisis three years from now.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the universe…
Rayden was traveling from planet to planet using Instant Transmission.
He was gathering materials, food, and technology—anything that could be of use. His storage ring held everything he collected.
Swish!
Rayden appeared suddenly in front of a group of wild-looking aliens.
These savage creatures paid no attention to Rayden. They continued charging forward, weapons raised, chasing two figures: one looked suspiciously like Ultraman, and the other was a beautiful young woman.
Rayden narrowed his eyes.
Why do they look so familiar?
Then it hit him. "Wait… Jake and Tais?!"
(Tais is Bulma's sister.)
Jake was a member of the Galactic Patrol, supposedly a "super elite," constantly flying missions across space.
Tais, on the other hand, had dreams of becoming a famous novelist. To find good story material, she traveled throughout the universe.
"Jake! You're a super elite, right? Protect me!" Tais yelled, her face pale with fear.
Jake was clearly flustered. "I am a super elite—but there's too many of them! Let's run!"
Suddenly, Tais tripped over a stone and fell.
Jake quickly helped her up, but the aliens had caught up. They surrounded the pair, weapons gleaming.
"Jake, are we going to die here?" Tais said, panicking. "I miss our parents… Someone, anyone, save us!"
Jake stepped in front of her, shaking but determined. "Don't worry, Tais. I'll protect you!"
But his body trembled with fear. He clearly stood no chance.
Just then, Rayden appeared instantly in front of them.
With a calm expression, he raised his right hand and unleashed a powerful energy blast, wiping out every enemy in sight.
Jake stood frozen in disbelief.
Rayden turned to Tais. "Are you alright?"
"I-I'm fine… Thank you," she replied, her voice trembling.
Jake frowned. "Tais, do you know this guy?"
"No, I've never met him before… Why?" she asked.
"Then how does he know your name?" Jake asked suspiciously, glaring at Rayden.
Rayden smiled and introduced himself.
"I'm a friend of Bulma's. It's too dangerous for you to wander through the universe alone."
Jake puffed out his chest. "It's fine. I'll protect her!"
Rayden chuckled and shook his head. "Jake, your power level is too low. You can't protect anyone."
Jake stomped. "What do you know?! I'm a Galactic Patrol super elite!"
He struck a silly pose that he clearly thought looked cool.
Rayden ignored him and looked at Tais.
"Tais, it's been a long time since you've been to Earth, hasn't it? Want me to take you back?"
Tais hesitated, then nodded. "Really? You can do that?"
Jake snorted. "Don't be ridiculous! Do you know how far Earth is from here? It would take months on a spaceship!"
"Just shut up."
Rayden slapped Jake lightly on the face—hard enough to knock him out cold.
"Tais, hold onto me. I'll take us home."
Tais nodded quickly.
Rayden grabbed Jake with one hand, took Tais with the other, and used Instant Transmission.
With a flash of light, the three of them disappeared.
