Chapter 8 - Cracking Eggs

Somehow, Luan had managed to lose the guy after only just choosing to follow him. It was a bit disheartening, considering he was beyond curious about him. Now, there was danger lurking somewhere he couldn't see, and he was impossibly lost in this surprisingly large establishment. There were a lot of private rooms when you went further in, different levels of dining and even outdoor sections that were lit by lanterns and furnished with tropical plants.

The fact it had only taken a moment for Luan's party to find their table meant they were the low-class customers, something he doubted his father was entirely aware of. There was always someone richer, some better place for those higher up in the food chain.

He sighed softly, deciding to just cut his losses and return to the uninviting dinner.

With a sigh filled mostly of exasperation, Luan rounded another corner, finding the mystery man still hiding from his sight. Yes, maybe he was lost almost immediately. And yeah, the man seemed to disappear almost supernaturally, leaving Luan in the dust of uncertainty.

But mostly, he was just annoyed at the fact his split second decision was being made the butt of all jokes in the world.

With a plan to just go back to the dinner, if he could even find it, Luan turned around. Going back the way he'd come should lead him in the right direction.

He found a hallway that was lined with windows on the side, a view of the nightlife in this city in full swing. Cars whizzed by on the street below, lights twinkling across the buildings in the distance. It only took the second of distraction before Luan felt a presence loom behind him. He spun, finding an annoying pair of blue eyes looking down on him.

"Miles, what are you doing here?" He asked, backing away a bit.

The man smiled, teeth on full display as he stepped closer. Luan was just realizing he'd never actually heard the man talk before. Maybe he was mute? That would make it less creepy, at least.

But no, Miles was just that creepy.

"Hello, little omega. Thought I'd make sure you made it back to dinner before your food went cold." His arms were behind his back, body leaning forward as he towered over Luan. His smile was tilted on one side, eyes gleaming as if he had just found his favorite toy.

"I was just heading back. There's no need to worry. I wouldn't want to keep such esteemed guests waiting, after all."

Luan took another step away, arms crossing as he went for nonchalant in the face of clear intimidating tactics.

Miles's eyes crinkled around the edges, squinting in some amusing thought that crossed his mind.

"Really?" He asked, another step taking away the distance Luan was trying to create.

"You're heading in the wrong direction, though?" It was a question, but Luan felt more like it was an accusation with the way he said it. He backed away, eyes narrowing on the alpha inching towards him. He really wanted to just put this guy out in the most violent way possible. What was it with alpha's, thinking people ought to just bow down to them?

"I was just stretching my legs. there's no need to check up on me. Please, don't let me keep you from your meal." Trying to keep this conversation civilized was harder than pulling teeth out of your opponent's mouth. Easy, yet tedious. You had to make sure they held still, or you'd pull more than teeth.

Luan was getting sick with the niceties, his fists clenching around his crossed arms.

Miles made a tsk'ing sound, another step placing him in front of the on guard omega.

"I'm not asking, Luan. You're going to come back with me, it's going to be a nice dinner, and I will be seeing you at the party. Because you are going to be mine, and I can do whatever I want with what belongs to me."

Luan could feel a blood vessel clench near his eyebrow, silver eyes awash with an intent to kill.

"I don't belong to anyone, and I never will, Miles Sein. Maybe I will have to go to the party with you, but that is where our story will end. And you'll be lucky it doesn't go further because anything past that ends with your head on a stick and me dancing on your grave, understand?" His arms were tensed, mouth smiling in some form of mania as he annunciated each word.

He could see the way Miles's smile dropped, a sneer taking its place as he ground out his next words.

"Fiesty, aren't ya? I don't mind. It just enhances the moment when I break you." He lunged then, hands banging on the wall that had somehow appeared at Luan's back, face coming within an inch of his own.

A foul stench wafted from his mouth, no doubt the disgusting fish meal Miles had been munching on at the table a while earlier. It was the hardest part about focusing on the situation with that smell taking his focus.

But he did focus.

Luan took a hold of the arm next to his head, preparing to yank it up and walk under it, eyes never leaving Miles'. This seemed to spur the man on, as he put the other arm around Luan's waist and yanked him closer. He was trying to go for a kiss, stinky mouth getting closer as Luan pushed it away in panic.

"Let go of me, you freak!" He screeched, leaning away from the encroaching freak of nature that was trying to take advantage of him.

Miles growled, arms wrapping around each of his hands and pulling them to his side. Luan wasn't about to go through this type of torture without putting up a fight first. He used his unencumbered leg and slammed it into the man's special bits before freeing his hands and shoving the tilting giant away. Miles fell to the floor with a loud thump, hair covering his pained expression as his head fell forward.

"Tough me without permission again, and I finish the job, you scum!" Luan seethed, yanking Miles' hair up as he spit the words into his face.

Said fallen man was laughing, though he didn't look happy. His eyes were wide, a smile crawling out as he looked up, excitement creeping its way up his spine.

"The more rebellious you are, the more alluring sight your broken figure will make, omega." He grunted the words out, hands still clutching his cracked eggs as he looked at the egg cracker looming above him. Luan sneered at the words before dropping the blond haired head and turning his back on the shaken form of alpha on the floor.

He made to just walk away, not caring where he ended up, when he saw a figure approaching their direction.

Mr. Eye candy was sauntering his way towards the two. He wore sunglasses now, the first thing Luan noticed that felt strange. It was nighttime, and they were indoors. Why would he feel the need for such things unless he had something to hide.

With narrowed eyes, Luan watched the approaching figure, wandering at the timing of his appearance. As attractive as he was, there was something suspicious about the whole thing.

Luan kept walking, deciding to pretend he didn't notice the figure getting closer and that he definitely wasn't the cause of the man crumbling on the floor behind him.

As he went to pass him, Luan felt a large hand brush across his own, tilted head showcasing the sunglasses in full view as he looked at Luan. It was just a moment, but Luan felt almost electrocuted by it. A shiver crawled across his skin as the man's fingers left his, neither pausing in their steps as they went separate ways.

Something about this man made Luan's skin light up in a feverish state, coming alive at the slightest touch or glance. It was disconcerting, and Luan wasn't sure he should ever come into contact with it again.

He didn't care what the man thought when he made it to Miles, nor did he want to know what was said.

Luan kept going and left that hallway far behind himself as he fled the scene.
