Rin was huffing, exhausted.
Blood poured from the wound on her stomach, soaking through her torn uniform. Her hand trembled as she tried to keep pressure on it, but it was no use. The warmth of life was slipping away.
She collapsed onto the rubble-covered ground, staring up at the shattered ceiling above. The world was quiet—too quiet.
"…All…" she gasped, barely able to speak. "It's all my fault… I was weak… naive…"
Her voice cracked. A tear slid down her cheek.
"My wives… they're all dead… because of me…"

Flashback — Three Years Earlier
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Rin groaned and rolled over, burying her head under her pillow.
BEEP! BEEP—
BOOM!
A blast of red flame erupted from her hand, incinerating the alarm clock in a single, angry puff. The room filled with a puff of smoke and a faint burning smell.
"Ughhh... stupid thing," Rin mumbled, rubbing her eyes.
She pulled herself out of bed and dragged her half-asleep body toward the kitchen.
Her mother, Mrs. Amna, sat at the table, composed and intimidating as ever, skimming the morning news on her tablet while calmly eating toast. Next to her, Rin's older sister Maria was sipping her coffee with elegance and sass, legs crossed like she was royalty.
"Morning, Rin," Maria smirked without looking up.
Rin yawned. "Mm… morning…"
Mrs. Amna lowered her tablet. Her sharp eyes locked onto Rin like heat-seeking missiles.
"Rin," she said calmly, "I noticed your grades have dropped."
Rin froze.
"You scored 100% in every subject last semester. This time, it's… only 98%. Are you slacking off?"
Rin gulped. Her mother may have been an omega, but she was a terrifying woman—the director of national security and the kind of person who could silence a room just by walking into it.
Before Rin could respond, Maria chuckled, her eyes sparkling.
"She was busy trying to seduce Miss Calli."
Rin froze. Her cheeks flushed with horror.
"MARIA!!" she yelled. "Why would you say that?!"
Mrs. Amna blinked. Slowly turned to Rin.
"…Calli?"
Rin took a cautious step back. "U-uh… I-it was a joke! Just sister banter!"
Mrs. Amna narrowed her eyes. "Rin. Miss Calli is your teacher. And more importantly… she's like a little sister to me."
Rin gave an awkward laugh, slowly sliding out of the room.
"I'm doomed," she whispered under her breath.
