Chapter 2 - rule and hell

Chapter 2: The Underworld and Its Rare Treasures

The Underworld, under the dominion of Hades, was not simply a place for the condemned. It was a world forged from divine law, ancient forces, and unspeakable secrets—a domain meant to purify the lost and imprison the wicked. Beneath its rivers of lava, the darkest of minerals and materials took form, created by the despair and fury of the most irredeemable souls.

The land itself groaned with punishment. Souls wandered in endless torment, their paths determined by the weight of their sins. But deep below, hidden beneath obsidian caverns and lakes of boiling blood, lay the few rare elements that spoke of redemption, sacrifice, and unbearable challenge. These materials were not meant to reward, but to test the very essence of perseverance.

The rarest and most coveted of these was Phlogemite—a glowing, cursed ore buried under seas of lava. Only one ingot could be mined per generation, and each ingot was guarded by a monstrous dragon, ten times stronger than a hydra, relentless in its pursuit. This dragon, coated in red-black scale, breathes eternal flame that cannot be extinguished by mortal means. Phlogemite can only be forged into a single item: a sword capable of cleansing soul-rot.

In addition to Phlogemite, the Underworld contained other legendary materials:

1. Ashsteel – Formed from the ashes of executioners. It is extremely brittle but can slice through any illusion. Its use is limited, but perfect for assassination tools.

2. Graveglass – A translucent mineral found in tombstone veins. When forged, weapons made from it are nearly invisible under moonlight.

3. Weepstone – This ore cries out as you mine it. Its lamentations weaken nearby enemies, making it perfect for crafting defensive accessories.

4. Fleshmire Resin – A sticky, black substance found inside the veins of corrupted giants. It hardens into an armor that restores life slowly, but it stinks of rot.

5. Nethercoal – Not a fuel, but a black mineral that consumes light. It is used to power machines of torment, and only souls brave enough to mine it return with their sanity.

6. Oblivium Dust – A powder from the bones of forgotten gods. When mixed with molten metal, it creates a blade that erases memories.

7. Ragequartz – Glows red with wrath. Can only be mined when one's heart is filled with anger. Perfect for forging berserker gear.

8. Sorrowgold – A cold, blue gold found in the cracks of regret-filled lands. Jewelry made from it grants clarity, but users become numb to joy.

9. Doomsap – A dark amber found inside dead trees of judgment. When consumed, it grants a moment of pure future sight but kills a piece of your soul.

10. Silent Ore – Mined from silent caves where even gods whisper. This metal suppresses sound and presence, perfect for thieves and spies.

And finally, at the edge of the Underworld exists Endwood, a haunted biome resembling a dead forest suspended in eternal twilight. It is guarded by a massive dragon similar in ferocity to the guardian of Phlogemite. It does not rely on end crystals for power, and its breath is ceaseless. The first death it delivers does not reduce cosmic value, but it will never stop until the intruder is dead. Should one triumph, the beast drops Eyes of the Ender Dragon, which when forged into a blade, act like Minato's kunai—teleportation across dimensions to any marked location.

Each material in the Underworld is designed to challenge and transform. None are granted freely. They are earned through sacrifice, trials, and pain.

This is Hades' world. His domain. A reflection not just of death, but of the strength needed to rise again after falling.

They are not tools for sinners to rise—but for those few rare souls deemed worthy of redemption or vengeance under Hades' watchful gaze.
