Chapter 108 - chapter 108: our little family

It was already afternoon when Taewon entered the house.

The air was calm, sunlight spilling through the living room curtains. Jihyun came walking from the hallway, carrying Hyunwon in his arms.

"Oh, you're back early," Jihyun said, a small smile tugging at his lips.

Taewon smiled faintly, setting his keys down on the counter.

"Yes, I finished everything early today."

He walked closer, gently taking Hyunwon from Jihyun's hands. he pressed a kiss on Jihyun's forehead first, then another on the baby's head.

Jihyun's eyes softened.

"Good thing. I was getting bored already. Hana's also on leave today."

Taewon raised a brow as he adjusted the baby in his arms.

"On leave? Why?"

Jihyun rolled his eyes a little.

"She told me this morning she's going out on a date with Jin."

Taewon blinked, confused.

"Jin? Our driver Jin?"

Jihyun nodded, smiling.

"Yes. She told me before she liked him but wasn't sure. Now she finally confessed."

Taewon chuckled quietly, shaking his head. "Didn't expect that at all."

"She seemed really happy,"

Jihyun said, sitting down on the couch.

"Said she feels relaxed around him. You should've seen her face this morning."

Taewon laid Hyunwon in his baby cart beside the couch, kissed the little one's forehead again, then sat down next to Jihyun.

Without a word, he leaned back, resting his head gently on Jihyun's lap.

Jihyun blinked in surprise.

"What's wrong with you suddenly?"

Taewon turned his head slightly and pressed a soft kiss on Jihyun's belly.

"Nothing," he murmured, voice low.

"I just missed you."

Jihyun froze for a second, his heart jumping at the sudden warmth.

"Missed me? You saw me in the morning, Taewon-ah."

Taewon smiled faintly, eyes still closed.

"It feels longer than a morning. I just wanted to be close to you for a while."

Jihyun's lips curved, brushing his hand through Taewon's hair.

"You sound tired."

"I am," Taewon admitted softly.

"But seeing you and Hyunwon makes it better."

Jihyun looked down at him, his expression gentle.

"You really became a full-time dad now."

"I'm proud of that title," Taewon said, lifting his head slightly, his gaze steady.

"And thank you, Jihyun… for giving me something so precious."

Jihyun smiled.

"You mean Hyunwon?"

Taewon shook his head slowly.

"Both of you," he said.

"Thank you for being with me, for giving me this family, for staying."

Jihyun's throat tightened as warmth rose in his chest.

"And thank you for staying when I couldn't even open my eyes for days. You didn't leave my side once."

Taewon's hand slid up, holding his.

"I was scared, Jihyun. Every second. I kept thinking what if you don't wake up."

Jihyun tightened his hold on him, his voice quiet.

"But I did. I promised I wouldn't go anywhere."

Taewon kissed Jihyun's knuckles softly. "Yeah, you kept that promise."

Jihyun smiled faintly, leaned down, and pressed a kiss on his lips. Taewon looked up, a light smirk forming.

"What's that for?"

Jihyun's cheeks turned a shade pink. "Nothing. Just felt like it."

After a while

Jihyun said playfully.

"So now tell me what have you done that you're pulling this cherry again?"

Taewon narrowed his eyes.

"What do you mean what I did?"

"Taewon-ah "

Taewon pouted. "I was just really happy."

Jihyun tried not to laugh. His heart pounded a little after all this time, seeing Taewon act this way still made him shy.

He slowly sat up on Taewon's lap, leaning close, and kissed him softly.

"Thank you," Jihyun whispered against his lips,

"For being the best partner and the best father of my child."

Taewon smiled, wrapping his arms around Jihyun and pulling him close. Their lips met again, deeper this time, until.

A sharp cry interrupted them.

Both froze. Hyunwon's small wail filled the living room.

Jihyun sighed as he pulled back quickly, embarrassed.

"He really knows timing too well."

Taewon chuckled quietly and stood up, going over to the baby cart.

"Alright, alright, my little jealous boy."

He lifted Hyunwon carefully, rocking him slowly in his arms.

Jihyun crossed his arms, pouting as he sat back on the couch.

"This little one is taking over my husband. But don't worry, Hyunwon, I'll take your dad back he's only mine."

Taewon laughed softly at his words while soothing the baby.

He took the feeder, walked toward the kitchen, and spoke on the phone while making the milk.

"Okay then, finalise it. We'll be there by seven," he said, his tone calm but firm.

"And make sure the area's warm. We have a baby with us."

Jihyun entered the kitchen, drying his hands. "Who are you talking to?"

Taewon turned with a small smile.

"Going out for dinner with my little boy."

Jihyun grabbed a cup of water, taking a sip before muttering,

"Go wherever you want. I know you care more for your child than me. He's definitely daddy's boy."

Taewon glanced at him, a teasing smile appearing.

"Are you jealous?"

Jihyun turned his head away.

"Why would I be jealous of you two? I have my own life to be busy with."

Taewon chuckled, walking closer. He grabbed Jihyun's wrist, turning him gently.

"Get ready. We're going out. First, we'll go shopping. Then we'll eat out."

Jihyun blinked. "Sudden plan?"

Taewon nodded, holding the baby carefully in one arm.

"Yes. And there's a surprise too."

Jihyun raised an eyebrow, leaning in slightly. "Surprise?"

Taewon smiled, his voice warm.

"You'll see. Just get ready."

Jihyun's lips curved as he wrapped his arms around Taewon's neck, laughing softly.

"Fine, I'll go. But if this little one cries again, I'm blaming you."

Taewon leaned in carefully and kissed Jihyun's cheek. "Deal."

Just then, Hyunwon started crying again.

Jihyun sighed, stepping back with a small glare at the baby.

"Okay, you jealous thing, I'm going. Do whatever you wish."

He left toward their room.

Taewon laughed quietly, shaking his head. He took the feeder, walked back to the lounge, and sat in front of the TV, feeding Hyunwon.

"You got after your mama, Hyunwon," Taewon murmured softly, kissing his head.

"But give him some space too, hmm? He carried you for nine months with so much pain."

He smiled gently, brushing the baby's soft hair. "Let's not make him jealous too long."
